because the ribbon had a knot…

No it didnt have a knot. Look closely. She stepped on the end of the ribbon and it folded. I don't know why this is a reason to replace it.

@@FBeer-to9dl she didn’t step on it u can literally see it that when she threw the ribbon she saw the knot

@@katrinalexandra of course she stepped on the ribbon, after the back pivot, its exactly at second 2.28.19 here on YT on the Olympic channel.(Olympic gymnasts)

In the finals she stepped on the ribbon after the back scale. And when she threw it she saw the knot and replaced it
