I am crying because so many families were split up after the Korean war in 1953! I hope for a united Korea some day! This song is so beautiful!!! ~Janet in Canada
even with south korean aid, the new transition government of north korea will have a complicated and difficult struggle rebuilding the north while balancing the interests of both the us and china.
As Vietnamese, we understand the sufferings when the country is divided, the family is divided, the family line is divided... Our country has also been divided at least twice. I pray for the unification of Korea and for everyone to be reunited.
Western powers = divide and conquered I'm not even Korean. But would love to see the Korean peninsula reunited in my lifetime. Same people. Same culture. Same bloodline.
+byoutifully this will never happen. Until the N. Korean ppl open their eyes to the atrocities and their so called beloved leader is killed/en-prison his entire family. They'll always be hatred between the 2 countries. I'm second generation S. Korean living in the U.S. and the stories my parents told me when fleeing N. Korea is devastating. Though I wish that would happen so much because they're my ppl.
+jchae35jc I understand that seeing a unified Korea is a lot easier sad than done but their government brainwashes them. They see no world beyond their own. My parents are also refugees of war and I am a first generation US American, I grew up hearing my parents and grandparents stories of war.
I think it is. I'm trying to learn the whole thing in Korean so if I do ever go to the DPRK, (to be the first American to win the DPRK Amateur Golf Open) I would definitely perform this song for everyone. I'm sure there would be some tears if I performed it perfectly.
I hope Korea unite! I love the north version of this song, very heart touched and I love the melody and nostalgic way of the singer voice. Greetings from Mexico.
Đúng là bài hát truyền thống của dân tộc Triều Tiên, từ Việt Nam xin chào các đồng chí Triều Tiên và những người bạn Hàn Quốc, mong rằng hai miền Nam Bắc sẽ hoà hợp thống nhất
When I went to the DPRK in 2011, we were taught this song by the tour leader. Everyone had to sing - no exceptions. Glad I got to learn such a beautiful song though.
I'm Brazilian but I visited Korea in 2019, just before the pandemic. Even today I shed tears every day in prayer for the unification of the Koreas. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
it is the big countries for the sake of interests and jockeying for influence that have divided a country of a people with the same culture and language as it is today.
no long possible I guess, it has been separated for more than 70 years and I reckon there are already two korean nations... like Romania and Moldavia (Moldavia is a part of ancient Moldavia occupied by Russians and later known as Bassarabia), they speak the same language, share the same culture but Moldavians consider themselves already a distinct nation... and look at korea, two different names for the country, for the language... One part has nothing to do with the other even if the DPRK would fall down today, I don't believe in reunification :(((
thank you very much for your positive words. If you from both sides will want it, you will manage it. As ancient greek poete Homer said: ἔσσεται ἦμαρ ὅτ' ἄν ποτ' ὀλώλῃ Ἴλιος ἱρὴ. There will come a day when Troy will fall. It means, once, everything will have its end... I hope and wish wholeheartedly your nation will be reunificated as Germans and Vietnamese are. And maybe, one day even Moldavia (Moldova) will join Romania as well... Best wishes...
Not to offend, just pointing out a fact, Kieran Rus had Moldova for a bit originally, so maybe it should go to Ukraine? Another reason, this is probably the reason Moldova could never be re integrated into Romania. Transnistria. They are pro Ukrainian/Russian, and Russia will step in to claim it as their's, while destroying Moldova. In my opinion, transnistria would go to Ukraine, along with northern Moldova, the rest to Romania (includes Chisinau)
yeah I don't believe in unification since the political systems and governments have drifted too far and unification may cause chaostic or civil war, thus leads to the third split
Korean folk song "Arirang"(아리랑) sung by a North Krean singer, Ri Kyung Sook. Arirang is a traditional folk song of Korean people , my saying is Korean anthem of every Korean's spirit, heart and mind for anyone else. Through the Korean's long Histoy, Korea is one nation- one country , That is why Korea should be and would be reunified in the near future definitely~!. Corea is only One Korea in the land of the beautiful Korean Peninsula. God defend UK(United Korea)~~~!!! ~With Warmest Love from New Zealand~
The South Koreans also sing this song ! The tour guide he is a native Chinese born and living in South Korea! He taught us to sing, it was1995 winter in Seoul!
I want N and S Korea unified. i love both. Please do it at any cost. Korean similiar Vietnamese. Big love from Vietnam. when i hear this song i missed Vietnam so much and cry a lot because Vietnam used to be divided like Korea
Не знаю насчет слов , но по мелодичности северо-корейская версия мне больше нравится. Когда слушаю эту песню, грущу и в то же время есть какая-то надежда.
@@worldentertainmentvang7307 Korea in the south: 한국 (hanguk) North: 조선 (joseon) So maybe for English and other countries it will be called Korea, but not for Korea self... So stop saying the name will be this or that
Korea is so beautiful! So, why did people divide it heartlessly? I hope that one day they would throw away all political barricades to become unite! Love from Vietnam! Long live reunified Korea!
Blame the USSR and the USA for that. It was the effect of a proxy war between capitalist and communist ideologies after Japan surrendered its claim to the Korean Peninsula after World War 2.
Even if I don't understand the lyrics, I can tell how touching this song is. Love from your old friend, Indonesia. I hope our countries can be friend again ^^
This is how I know this song to be in its true form. It is sung beautifully by a very talented voice. This song is near and dear to all Koreans and happy that the world can hear as well.
Fun fact.....north korea submitted this video to the unesco in 2012 ( i read it on a wikipedia article) While south Korea submitted the music video on 2010
We Vietnam are so happy that we are one from north to south. North or South Korea doesn't matter, both are good friends of Vietnam. Hopefully there will be no such pain anywhere
@La dolce Vita Aight hold up. Korea would be unified if a. Japan hadn't taken it or b. either the USSR or USA allowed one Korea to be taken by the other. I'll assume most South Koreans would rather live in a divided Korea than be starving under the DPRK. Honestly, I blame China the most for entering the Korean war when the DPRK was on the verge of destruction.
Nothing is more dangerous than the politics of world which is dividing common people..Its heart wrenching..Common people have to go through hardships because of wrong doings of their leaders..
