Hey Elijah, the app I’m using on my iPads is a $5/6 app called TouchOSC MK1. It’s just a midi control surface app that sends midi through WiFi or compatible hardware. You can customize and design it to look however you want. The design you see in this video is a custom design I made. All of what you see happening in this video is coming from my laptop which is running Ableton Live 11 Suite. Ableton is hosting all of my sounds, effects and looper.

One benefit is sometimes using stems can keep you in a “box” and can eliminate spontaneous free flowing moments. Don’t get me wrong, i do program out stems for certain things we do but for flow moment, pre recorded material doesn’t work
