Guys... Stop commenting on the “TWO OUTTER”. I assumed you all would catch on that I meant he hit the “2 outs for the King” and not the flush or two pair outs! My mistake for assuming that 😂 It was a editing mistake to not elaborate and I will try harder to be clearer in the future... now stop it!!! 😂
You did perfect against him with ur AA I think except I would have raised pre flop more and if someone calls they call but if not then you don’t loose money to a weak hand but good play
Hey, Ash, subbed a while back and I'm going through your early vlogs. I liked the format, a little of your past, a little of your present, and some live poker play. This was early in your vlogging so don't worry about your editing and the sound. You did miss doing a recap on how well you did, looked like you were up 200 but hard to tell. I like that you do your own music entro. Do you use a digital mixer to lay down the different tracks? Have you watched any music videos from Dovydas? He performs a lot solo in small venues while his wife films them. He will have a couple guitars including a seven string, a keyboard, an electronic drum pad, and a loop station. He plays some of his original music but also takes a lot of requests. If he has heard but doesn't really know a particular selection, like Steve Vai's Tender Surrender, he will pull it up on his phone and listen to some of it, lay down a beat, the bass line, and a rhythm section on the loop station and then play the lead live. He is very good, you should check him out.
Ash, the music does adds to the vlog the same as it does with the other vlogs. Very nicely done. 😁 The AA hand. Given the thumbnail sketch on the villains image, it seems like he was likely looking to get call trappy at some point during a hand. In short, if he's playing his hands virtually face up and would have alot of Kx in his range, an exploitative check back is fine here and U minimize your loss. Another fine vlog as always. We'll be here for vlog #3. 😊
I completely agree and weighted him heavily towards any K combination. As well as straight draws & flush draws which don’t call river bet. As he was VPIP 95% lol
Glad to see some vlogs coming out of AZ, and this one is good already. Cant wait to see you navigate some tough spots when someone max raises you yet you got pot odds.
Thanks for sharing your background and showing the basketball skills. I miss those days of high school sports. You’re tremendously talented and this poker thing is definitely your niche. It’s mentally challenging and you always have an opponent to test your skills. We crave this competition as athletes. Love the smile,it’s perfect!
Just want to say that I watched one of your most recent videos and Immediately became a Fan. You earned my Like & Subscribe with that One Video. And now I am going back and watching some of your older content. Which I am glad I did because I just learned that You are a Local here in Phoenix. As am I. I play at Talking Stick from time to time, but more often at Lone Butte. One thing worth mentioning is that NOW > as of just about 21 months ago. We "DO" Have *No Limit* Poker. No More Spread Limit like before. Anyways, maybe I will see you out and about at a Table or Two. Good Luck and Keep up the Great Work.
Good to have a female poker vlogger on the scene! I really enjoyed your video and respect the fact your out there grinding and chasing your dreams. It was nice to see some shots of Talking Stick as that was my home base as a reg for about a year or so before I moved out to Vegas and intermittently before that. Happy grinding and good luck!
Absolutely love the check back on the river. Cringeworthy card without question. For a river bet, you can’t get a better hand to fold or really any worse hand to call, so a check is absolutely awesome.
Your review of Talking Sticks is almost spot on to my experience. I have found that the staff is not too friendly. On the AA hand, I agree with the check on the river.
Hi Ashley, I'm new to your blog. Love what you are doing. I'm a fan of other Bloggers like, Andrew Neme, Mariano, Brad Owen, and Rampage, to name a few. Good luck to you in ALL your PokerLife endeavors. Go deep at the 2022 WSOP events.
You’re a grinder....nice play on the river. Lots of these other bloggers would be firing back for value. Excellent discipline and patience. If you’re ever bored of the west coast scene, we have excellent play here on the east coast!
After many decades in the game as a reg and rec I love the grind and growth, only plo for me now. I remember playing in the tent at Scottsdale at TsR or what we used to call CAZ.
Super hyped to finally see a poker vlogger from AZ on RU-vid!! Just moved back home to Mesa after going to school in LA and playing at the Bike, Commerce, and Hollywood Park Casino. I have yet to make it out to Talking Stick and We-Ko-Pa. Super excited to see where the vlog goes and the music that comes along with it :)
Ah there was a flush draw on the board also and from the dynamic she described he could be playing any 2 cards. I think going for thin value and closing vs a check raise is also ok in some spots.
Great vlog! 2 suggestions... Purely my preference so take em for what its worth.... Maybe switch to card icons displaying the runouts? Easier visually and maybe announce you cash out result? Keep it up!
What a pleasant surprise to see this young lady starting out on her poker videos... sounds like you are a smart and well balanced person with a great attitude... best wishes 👍✌️
You are cool.. after watching Brad and Rampage. U r definately a breath of fresh air. . I wish you all the best in your journey.. love from Darjeeling.. ❤️❤️
Talking Stick is definitely great although personally I am not a fan of their chairs. For that Aces hand once the top card pairs I think checking back the river is definitely the best play.
He didn't catch a two outer if he flopped a flush draw and could hit two pair. I like your check on the river. You are not getting called by anything, but a king, especially if he knows he has blockers and doesn't have you on a flush draw. I am surprised he never took control of the hand though. You're right. Very passive player. I live in Mesa and expect a lot of passive play at TSR. Been playing there for 18 years. Enjoying your channel.
Loved the video. Keep at it! Can't argue with any of your plays on this one. Part time Maricopa resident here. Currently stuck in Canada until the borders open up. Pretty sure I've played with you at the Arena before. Hopefully make my way back to Talking Stick soon.
Nice vlog, enjoyed the music-not to loud as some do with music. Also enjoyed your insight of the room at Talking Sticks, and agree with your description of the room, having played there on past trips before everything went crazy. Yes, spread limit only slightly different then no limit, and depending on tables make up, will still play the same. As too the pocket Aces hand, I might have sized up a little more on the turn, but with you'r read on the player and the fact he could have been playing any KX, either was fine. Then another King on the river, definitely checking back. If he would have valued bet the same as your turn bet, you would have a much harder decision. Don't know if he would have announced two pair with a check raise on the turn, but with the King on the river, agree he was trying to trap you.
Liked your little intro on yourself. To me just being a starter on a high school team in your sport of choice is enough to earn respect. Even more so to play at college level (any division) and to be an All American. Respect!
New to your channel, great content, you will do well. I think you have to check back the k6 board. You had been punishing him pretty good, perfect spot for him to get payback. You were smart enough not to let that happen. Great job
I probably would have gone into bet fold on the River. Lotsa hands you could get Callie from; pocket 8s through jacks (depending on what his calling/raising range). Results oriented though, good read.
That was a good check back on the river. If he doesn't have a king or better there what is he calling? You already said he was folding some turns that you were barreling so he is obviously not just calling down with any hand. Good job.
Such a positive attitude about your new journey is awesome. No matter what the financial results are in the end I’m sure your great personality will allow you to make many new friends along the way. As the great one use to say, may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters.
Good quality content. I look forward to following you on your poker journey. Digging the Hero v. Villain! Great way to keep watchers interested. People love to cheer for the good guy/girl. Also maybe instead of crowding your text box with "6s6c Flop was 7d8s9h...." use a 4-color scheme. A black and green 6 and so on. Lastly and most importantly...... great check back. Keep up the good play.
vlogging poker is hard in general ... keeping up with hand histories while still paying attention to the action and players. Liking the content good luck on the felt
Great job! I loved the music and always looking for new stuff to listen to while I play in my online home games. It will be pretty cool to see how your poker and vlog skills progress. Good luck!
You followed your gut on the river and I would have done the same. After getting a lot out of him, the poker gods was probably going to give something back to him. In the end you saved yourself some money so it was a good call. Love the channel so far, binge watching you videos at work (don't worry, Its a 24 hour shift so management doesn't mind) and look forward to more in the future.
The check back on the river with AA is definitely the right play with a loose passive type. Not going to get called by worse on the river after getting two streets of value. Great Content!
watching your older videos after watching the TCH live session. On the AA hand. It's a check back. Villian's limp-call range has many King x hands. Also he is passive. He didn't raise when he flopped two pair with 5,6, ealier. On river. Your Aces only beat a missed club draw or straight draw w/ 78. Betting it wouldn't get called by worse.
1st female poker vlogger I’ve come across. Perhaps you are the first ever ? Anyway, nice change up from all the men. Nice to see. There’s tons of female players at all levels of course, so you shouldn’t be the first vlogger but maybe you are. Of course I enjoy watching the men too, but it’s nice to see this as a change up to that.
On the villains trip kings as soon as you said you cringed, I did the same, against such a loose passive who we see continue on a turn there and then that specific card coming we essentially get no value from missed draws and middle pairs that wouldn’t let go (which now more than likely would to a bet) and as such I don’t mind the check back. Against so many more versatile players we could go for value when they won’t let go of some other pocket pairs, but given your notes on villain it was fine to me.
In the hand you had pocket aces against the villain's king seven suited, you stated that he "hit his two-outer" to beat you on the river. Obviously, this is incorrect as he had 14 outs. Given that he flopped so huge with his trashy hand, you only had approximately 50% equity on the flop. Your check back on the river against this type of opponent was completely standard in low limit live poker, in my opinion. Overall, I think you played the hand perfectly with my only comment is that you should not make unintelligent comments like "hit his two outer" in your post hand analysis as it looks like sour grapes to me. Obviously, you want players to continue to limp/call hands like K7s to your in position raises, accept the variance and move on. Nice hand.
@@gregorystgermain713 🙄 spare me bro... He hit his two outer. She’s played professionally for 3 years, she knows what she meant, I know what she meant. He had 2 outs to hit a king and 9 for a flush. You can chop it up anyway you want, but frankly I’m glad you took the time to make this comment. It always says a lot about folks like you. In my experience it just means she’s doing the right thing making content, haters are the best following you can have, free advertisement.
@@gregorystgermain713 sigh 🤦🏻♀️ I meant instead of hitting his flush outs, he hit the king which had 2 outs. I know what a two outter is playing poker for a living lol. I assumed people would follow what I meant. Oops. Should have worded it differently but most people seem to know what I meant. If you think that’s “unintelligent”... you’re going to see a lot more unintelligence on the Vlog 😂 thanks for watching!
I like your enthusiasm! You seem to be goal oriented, which is also good. I believe your public would like to hear your buy-in vs cash out which computes to an hourly ration for earnings. Great video quality, too btw. Cheers!
Going to Phoenix in a month or so. Recently started played home cash games. Any tips for sitting down at Talking Stick for my first live game that isnt at home? Im going back in your vlog history to catch up haha keep up the good work!
Talkin Stick is a great room. Last time I was at the TS 5 of us got all in with about a $1600 pot. I flopped a set and was counting that pot thinking i paid for my trip to series in vegas. Then I guy rivered a straight. I think i won a few bucks on side pot but man i was disappointed. lol okay no bad beat stories.First time I was there they had about 30 games going on a Tuesday night.
river size with the two pair can't be much of a mistake vs a calling station, want to keep all his top pairs in there and maybe even get a call from 2nd pair or a stubborn middle pocket pair. make it huge and you could fold out too much value. nice vlog
Already have seen a suggestion to replace the text board with visual cards and suits. The other thing that very much every poker vlogger does at the end of the video is declaring how much they won, or lost, in that section. Tracking the win rate per hour is not a bad idea. Good start.
Definitely size bigger on the river on the 76s hand , against a sticky opponent that doesn't seem to be folding to you , you should definitely be sizing up here especially when draws missed , I would go close to full pot here and make it look like a busted flush / straight draw , as for the AA hand , all I can say is you are lucky he didn't raise earlier in the hand because you should have lost way more on that hand , checking back seems fine but against a sticky opponent we could go for a small bet on this river and fold to a raise. All in all great Vlog ! Ps you earned a new Sub :)
Not even being results oriented either , when I tend to make hands against people who seem to be not folding , especially when they are disguised , I tend to go larger. Good luck in the next one!
Pssssssh. After a couple minutes of listening to you speak it is CLEAR that you’re going to crush this poker vlog game. Well spoken, charismatic, not many women in the scene (if any 🤔).. and it certainly doesn’t hurt that you’re pretty. Get ready for this channel to really take off!
Agreed. A female who’s voice is pleasant, understanding of the game, decent looks and a deep cash. Channel will blow if (relative to other poker blogs)
@@seanariamd9581 while yes he has been playing any two cards so his range is wide, my thought for this particular river is what can my opponent actually call with on a river bet? It is doubtful he will call with any of those proposed ranges, unless he puts her range on pocket 7’s or lower, in which case she isn’t betting the river after 2 check calls, so he would have bet the river himself for value. I think he has put her range on high pocket pairs JJ, QQ, AA maybe even 1010 hence his check on the river when he hits the set. He may be thinking she won’t put me on a K with 2 on board and will bet again. Most hands like missed straights and missed flushes fold or check jam river leaving you with a tough decision as well for all your chips. I don’t think he was going to just call a river bet regardless of his holdings, either fold or jam so you get no value from a bet here.
@@seanariamd9581 your original statement said you didn’t understand why I thought it was a good check back so I explained why I thought it was. Never said it was the right play, the best percentage play, or criticized your theory, just simply based on what we know from an explanation of a few hands what my thought process was for my comment. Lol
@@seanariamd9581 Good question. The 9 wouldn’t bother me as much as the K as I guess I was thinking more in line of the K with flush draw check calling. I think I just was putting him on a much narrower range. I can understand your thought process though. At the table may go a whole other way then just a reaction to someone else’s story. Been fun talking strategy though! Always good to hear other perspectives especially coming from someone playing in a bigger game.
