my idea for a scorched ending cutscene would be something like this: After defeating the manticore, and exiting the arena, it cuts to you flying out of one of the spires in the center, preferably the one closest to 50/50, and as you are flying through space, just starting to be digitalized, you get hit by a meteor (because a meteor shower, like the ones on extinction, is happening), knocking you off course, sending you barreling through space, eventually straightening out and crashing straight into aberration. this would explain why you woke up in a damaged, element infested ark, as it's likely the system wouldn't toss you into a destroyed ark.
what? he's the aberration overseer, and what do you mean by "trick the system", because as far as I know, aberration wasn't nearly as destroyed when the other survivors were in it as it is now.
@HIsForHacks Aberration is fucked mostly because of Diana and the other survivors who knew how to create tek. Rockwell isn’t really the primary reason that Ab is in ruins, but he is part of the problem.
I think some of the hate for SE comes from the fact it was payed DLC for a game that was still in early access. I loved SE because at the time I was playing PvE and not much scared me on the island. I ran around with flak armor and a sword and could take on just about anything. The only real threat was lagging out and dying because of it. SE brought on a whole new level of difficulty and challenge and it was great at the time
Scorched Earth is the reason why I haven't purchased any of Ark's DLC. I bought the game in early access, around late 2015 / early 2016. When I heard that my money had been used to make a DLC instead of finishing the game, I vowed to never buy any DLC. Half a decade later, I've still refused to buy anything. While I think some of the DLCs are cool, I'm more than content with the free non-story arks. Ragnarok's mini-desert gives me the Scorched Earth experience anyways, so I'm not missing out on much.
Or do like I did and scuttle around like a roach scrounging up the basics while vanishing like a rock drake the second anything smells even slightly fishy.
Scorched is looked down on by the ARK community? I kinda loved how hard it was to survive and being a desert nomad with a train of Morrellatops, Scorched Earth is kinda my vibe.
I told myself I’d work through the maps in chronological order for my first time playing Ark. that was 4 years ago... I’m finally at the point of fighting the bosses on the island and I can’t wait to FINALLY jump into a new map. What I’m trying to say is that I love your videos and they’re super helpful for a wimp like me (who’s too chicken to go into caves half the time) to get a taste of what each map can offer story and experience-wise.
Lol me and my sister are doing that. Started in April, private server. We’ve beat the alpha broodmother but still working on gearing up for the other caves needed for the other boss fights. Other people keep telling us to go to other maps, get wyverns or Gachas or other map engrams like chainsaws but so far we are standing firm.
@@SongbirdGaming as someone who has done exactly what you're doing I can say definitely continue there's a magical feeling in existenceing the content the way it was intended to
I quit playing a long time ago and decided I wanted to get back into it. I don't understand why people hate this map so much. I love it and it's my favorite. Thank you for the great video to help get us a jump start.
I actually enjoyed the scorched earth map. Provided a challenge and had lots of ruins that i enjoy exploring. Also set up shop at one of the obilisks that had water under it. Though i had to put spiked walls along cliff edges to keep the 30 or so odd raptors from getting my tames.
Scorched earth is actually one of my favorite maps it’s a pain in the ass playing but it’s an interesting world and that’s what I like, my favorite is aberration.
Honestly, scorched is my favorite map. It presents an easier challenge than most other ones, but its a constant challenge because your fighting the map mechanics instead of the exiting highs and rather boring lows that the other maps provide. plus the Phoenix is my favorite creature in the game, so I may be a little biased.
It really is a shame that scorched earth has no propper cut scenes after beating the manticore . The devs should rewind scorched and bring it up to date. They will ever do this ? probably not , but its a nice thing to have hope
Yeah, it's hard to remember to include every detail in the evolution guides, given how broad they are. I'm thinking I'll probably begin working on the Extinction Evolution Guide as soon as Mei-Yin's Survival Story is released. That way I can have a break in between Mei-Yin and Rockwell, while still creating something.
Scorched and the island are the only ones I have played and I intend to keep it that way. Aberration and extinction look quite hard and I can manage scorched more then most maps. For one of the hardest maps in the game, I have done better on Scorched then I have on the island. Besides that the aggressive atmosphere that Scorched has is one that I personally find to be appealing.
If im gonna be honest, besides Aberration (Because Aberration literally sets every single idea anyone had to shame), Scorched Earth is the most fun because of the difficult challenge no matter what level you are at.
I call the deep sea loot crates, sandsea loot crates, for scorched Earth. Also I have tested exstensively for them on Scorched and there are only 2....not 4. They have the same respawn timers as the island unless they changes it VERY recently.
Yeah definitely challenging. I'm a bit stuck on the island map. After 7 caves solo. The last 3 need better tamed animals. So I went to scorched earth. To die, die, die and die. The lack of trees and many angry animals make this a difficult start. Take this slow and plan ahead. Even my level 150 saber was killed in seconds by 3 terror birds.
Yeah, I personally head to the central dunes as soon as possible, they have these pillar things where you can just get a thatch foundation, some walls, some laddars, and a thatch roof and boom, creatures can't reach you. And also there's an abundance of water veins, and when you get to using electric stuff, windmills are able to be used. I think the spawn area is called south zone 3 or something.
I will share it with all my friends , your videos are awesome done and you deserve to be know as the best reporter of Ark . Awesome videos ! 😊👍👌👌👌👌👌🏆🏆🏆
Scorched is so underrated. Only having desert biomes is great. Far better than having a desert part of the map. It limits your option and forces you to find new strategies. Early game scorched is ridiculous. The things it added to ark when it came out were amazing, now they’re seen as mainstream creatures and tools. I can still imagine how awesome the Wyverns were when they came out (they’re still awesome, but they’re a mainstream creature now). Rock Elementals we’re crazy and hunting death worms was an experience in and of itself (I love really tough, untameable creatures that aren’t necessarily alphas, like Death Worms and Reapers). Scorched Earth and Aberration prove something: Sometimes, less is more. Fewer creatures, fewer biomes, different ways to approach the game. I love Scorched Earth and Aberration
In defense of the rock elementals, I don't see them as waiting in rock form to ambush their next prey as more of minding their own business, likely napping, and not taking to kindly to those disturbing them in their personal bubble. Great video/editing.
I have a huge love and fascination with extreme weathers. It brings a new dimension to Ark's survival! I wish there was an extreme arctic map. Reminds me of Don't Starve.
Just started a scorched earth play through managed to tame a thylo I hit the jackpot when it was tamed it was lvl 130 trained it up a bit then went to the dunes tripped an explorer note & managed to gank a death worm the thylo got 33 levels with the xp boos in effect totally blew my mind
Wow, i love the way you did this video! Amazing editing and i love your use of the music. You made everything about this game look absolutely incredible
honestly I love the scorched earth ark, though probably due to me loving deserts in general especially with how diverse the map is, plus the golems are one of my fav designed creatures on ark as well as the wyverns
Well done. Your videos are quality and informative. I really enjoyed the Guides and also your series on the explorer notes. Really made the ARK lore learning very enjoyable. Thanks heaps :).
First lesson of scorched earth is tame as much raptors as possible lvl them up as much as you can , kill everything in sight by the water , dominate everything and rule the desert
Thanks for letting me know! That's something I would otherwise have not known given that I have never been inclined to build with tek on Scorched Earth specifically.
