In advanced settings there is a new option calls "active event" can you make a video about it? I meesed the Halloween event and I feel sad about it plz help us to active any event please 💔💔💔
I’ve gotten a level 150 raptor on the island before, then got destroyed by a Rex level 150. Can confirm that max level does work. Just wanted to let you know. :)
I just started playing ark again after a year or so, and did my own settings. I literally picked up some berries and gained 5 levels😂. Needed this video
@@atcera8714 if you're playing the steam version. There is a mod in the steam workshop called equalised dino levels and it increases the spawn rates of high level dinos ,but also makes the game harder. Hope it helps 👍
These settings have a nice progression speed and I haven't played the game with this much fun since I bought it.This feels like how solo should have been.
The first time I tried setting up my own server, I picked up a stone and was encumbered, I checked my inventory and there were 300 there hahaha I needed this video very much!
I played this when it first came to Xbox but never got far into it because the single player was almost unplayable! After watching this and hearing about the double xp/taming.... twice! I’m gunna give it another go on pc this time with these settings and the boss balance patch. Thanks for the info and all your effort!
dude this hella Late, but I've been excavating though different ark tutorials on youtube, you win, yours are so much easier than other peoples, not just this video but a lot of the ones u have done have been really helpful and all the extra information u put in adds a lot. and u actually say why! unlike some these RU-vidrs who are just so bad at their jobs and u sir r not, just needed to say that
I would suggest to in my opinion do the same thing but make it more efficient harvest wise is to keep harvest damage at 1.0 and turn the harvest amount to 1.6 - 1.8. I noticed that the single rock nodes that you pick up didn't give you anything unless you harvested them again. I recommend this to remove this issue. Then you won't be guessing if you picked up a rock or not figuratively speaking.
I disagree, checkout Rags teardown of fallout 76, I am one of those that laugh and is amused whenever an opportunity is taken to make a joke on a chosen nick or branding. Especially when the mascot is as cute as the woofer army.
I would reccomend the mod: Never stuck again. it makes your dino destroy trees & rocks making it less frustrating to move dinos without turning your head ever 5 seconds to go over the checklist of whats missing.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with S+ or Super Structures, it makes building alot more easier as the vanilla building mechanism is broken imo, plus, you're able to pick up misplaced structures after the 30 seconds have passed which is really useful for more expensive structures, regardless of is using harvest multiplier. And I disagree with you, the pull function for resources is very helpful for me as I am horrible at managing my resources, forgetting which box I put them in etc. Sure I should just get a grip on myself and become more organized, but still, I think S+ is hands down a must have mod of you have the chance. Other than that, ty for going though the setting. A friend of mine just started hosting a private server with, so we might tweak the settings as we get to know how they work or not. :)
Thank you so much! This game was getting boring because I just couldn't get the setting right and the game felt too easy. These settings are great! They are perfectly balanced but still let the game feel like a challenge at times!
On ps4 they have added a new *Active Event* setting. Could you please make a video about that and give advanced details about it? Thank you very much I would really appreciate it WooferPoof
Correction to something you said about the difficulty slider. It doesn't seem to effect the bosses but it does change the level (hp and damage) of the boss adds. I haven't done any testing (using dinos based on the difficulty max level) to see which is easier if either
Hello, do your resource nodes not respawn in SP? If you have this bug I have found a “fix”. Advanced setting Resource radius - player 0.0 Resource radius. - structure 0.0 Resource respawn period 0.0 I know it’s not a perfect fix but for us who have this bug it at least makes the game playable again.
I do agree with the immersion goals but moving things by hand without SS or S plus in bulk is insane .. and a small stacking mod... is kinda Quality of life u want lol
@@WooferPoof Same im a 100% soloist as well even on clusters with tribes I am all about Balance and quality of life with a challange if its too easy and carry too much without dinos then its a joke and boring ... The one thing I cant live without is Nanny / Transfer tool KBD / DSV2 Krackens rebalanced and makes useless dinos have a use and DSV2 with restrictions replaces the Cyro system completely S plus with restrictions is better strctures and few things. Pulling resources is one major Quality of life just thinking of the thosands of hours I woulda spend moving resources by hand just makes me cring lol
Bro I literally had to subscribe to your channel. You keep the videos worth watching. Keep up the good work and thanks for the tutorial on the single player settings as I’m really new to ark.
lol Nice video! I started using your settings and honestly has made single player extremely enjoyable. Good pacing and balance. Not easy, but not excruciatingly hard and grindy. Also, love your character! Is so fun and awesome! You just got a new sub!
As someone who doesn’t play a lot of survival games and doesn’t like playing games for hundreds of hours would you say these settings are enjoyable to do you think it’d be better to go with the easy mode?
@@khrulez1 It all depends on how much time you planning on investing on the game, and how much you like/dislike grinding. These settings specifically still keep the grinding aspect, but not as tedious as the vanilla game. Easy mode just somewhat makes the grind a lot less tedious, since you level up way faster, boss fights are easier too since taming and getting strong dinos is easier, but is still enjoyable. I like grind, so these settings work perfectly. Tho the one thing I did was made the breeding faster, since breeding is the one thing I really hate, so making it faster really did helped. Again, it depends on how much time you wanna invest, and how much you like the grind. Overall, easy is still very enjoyable(I did play through the game with those settings), but I wanted to grind more, and these settings worked perfectly.
@@RickRodGaming Thank you that helped a lot. I’ll definitely be going with easy mode as I’m not someone who enjoys grinding too much as I have limited hours in the week to play. Do you by any chance remember how long a full playthrough took you on easy mode?
@@khrulez1 I'd say that, playing at least 1-2hrs a day each week, I was able to beat 2 bosses of the Island in like 2 weeks. Especially if you play with "Single Player" settings on, you don't even need to worry much about breeding, since with Single Player setting on, when you tame dinos, their stats jump pretty high.
@@RickRodGaming have you hatched any wyverns with these settings yet. I'm about to do that but having to imprint every 10 mins seems a bit fast. Did you have problems with not getting a specific kibble or food the baby's wanted?
Hey WooferPoof, hows things? Ive used this video for most of my ASE life, probably will be using the same settings for ASA next week once it comes out for XBOX. Was wondering if you still doing these videos and if there will be a new Best Settings vid for ASA? Thanks man, you helped me and my nephew a lot with ASE! ☺👍
Thanks for the comment, still glad people appreciate the settings to this day. I'll have to look at ASA and see if it even has differences within the settings.
I see a large emphasis on not removing other features in the game by using some of the more op settings (like crosshair) but then you set the taming rates so high that you completely remove the need for kibble to get the best out of your tames. This makes many aspects of the game pointless; farming, bee keeping, cooking, and dehydrating jerky.
Kibble is way batter than other foods and will most likely oneshot tame most creatures, it's always worth it. Also Kibble is still part of the random imprinting requirements. Farming is nessessary for making all sorts of things including Bug Repellant. Bee Keeping is key for having access to Honey at any location you want and a great asset for fishing. Cooking is how you get really good custom recepies which again requires farming, and is also nessessary for special recipes like mushroom stews. And making jerky is always the best option for preparing long-term food as well as prime meat that doesn't spoil that fast. Your idea of "pointless" is baseless and you clearly haven't put enough thought into it.
@@WooferPoof The difference between kibble and raw prime on a max level rex is 3 minutes with no difference in final level. The time required to make the 2 kibble would take longer then 3 minutes. Bug repellant, fishing, and mushroom stew are all edge cases, not everyone is going to be invested in those activities unlike taming. Long term food storage isn't a necessary thing, there is food absolutely everywhere on ark so why go through the effort of making jerky to store it instead of cooking it as needed? The only place that you may still need kibble is imprinting, I will agree with that one.
Thank you so so much for this video, it was really helpful! Will you ever make a video on the best settings for a server? (I always seem to mess up the baby/breeding settings & get it totally wrong on servers 😭) 💕
I just got into ark about five days ago, and I went in blind. Which resulted in me dying a lot and getting frustrated. Ever since I have changed these settings I have been hooked on the game and it's been really enjoyable. I do feel like you level up too quick though.
What I'm trying to figure out is what settings I need to change so I can set up an automatic farms for element, mutton, and organic polymer. I want my hyaenodon to automatically attack unclaimed baby ovis just by setting it to aggressive. What settings do I need to make that happen?
I have a problem. In my world, dinos are 150 and whatever taming effectiveness i get, im only allowed to bump up my dino maybe 10 points. Whats the settings I have to fix this?
You could try to increase the "Dino Max Experience Points" setting in the Advanced Settings tab under Miscellaneous Settings. I'm not sure of the default max, but there might be a few RU-vid videos out there or you just have to play around with the number yourself to figure out what works for you. I know a max level 150 tame with perfect taming effectiveness does not gain any more levels after it reaches level 297. So it will be atleast 1 million exp. If you enable admin commands in your settings, you can test this out with the command [giveexptotarget 1,000,000 0 1] while aimed at your tamed dino's name in green. The 1,000,000 can be changed to any value you want and represents the total number of exp you want to give that target. I recommend testing this on dinos you don't care about while you get the hang of it. And if you are on console, keep the value below 5 million or so, because you could risk crashing your game.
Guys if you didn’t know with single player settings checked, it also increases your values per level for dinosaurs I don’t like that so I decided it play without it
One thing i will mention about TETHER DISTANCE, still currently watching the video, if you have it set above 1 at this point in time on aberration you have a chance to crash every time you load into the game. happened to me cause i had tether set to 9999 because i was playing with friends, now im not, so i set it back to 1 and never had another problem. this glitch is specific to aberration as far as i know
Can you briefly explain the day cycle stuff? I think the cycle is too short at the moment and would like to make the cycle longer while also making night slightly shorter than day to mirror real life.
Great job with the video presentation! Question: Will these setting and your boss/alpha/apex balance patch work with the expacs (Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction) as well?
I only use stacking mods because I don't wanna spend 3 hours scrolling through 30 stacks of thatch for a single tranq dart. Searching for a needle in a haystack, if you will.
Hey man really good video. But why do you set the difficulty so low (0.05) when fighting bosses? Honest question because I played with default single player settings (difficulty: 0.2) and defeated gamma broodmother with like 10 dinos and half of them weren’t even bred they were just tamed. I know beta and alpha gets much harder but wouldn’t you be able to defeat the bosses with like 0.2 difficulty? I really want to change my settings to exactly like you show in the video but I’m struggling to understand that part! A reply would be so helpful! Thanks!!!
Difficulty 1.0 for regular play, 0.05 for bosses. Bosses don't change much, it's the summoned adds who do. If 0.2 works for you then good job. The even better way to do it would be to simply use my Ballance Patch and stick to 1.0 at all times.
I enjoy immersion and challenge but I will use SS because carrying 1000s of stone from a dino to a table is something I did in beta and launch of ARK and will NEVER EVER do again... I also use KBD and Prehistoric to add more flavor to the map and balance with KBD mods. I do use Awsome spyglass but with 90% of it disabled so i can see the basic stats of my already tamed dinos.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but while “use signal player settings” is active, I think you need to set “baby mature speed” to 0.815. This would fix a glitch that caused the babies to grow up to fast. Do you know if they fixed the glitch? Im not sure if I should still have “baby mature speed” at 0.815.
Hey, good memory there from my old video/version. I was actually the one to tell people about that "bug" in the first place! And yes, it is true that there's problems if you don't adjust that or other settings. But the ones shown in this new video are tested and work as well. The change to "Cuddle Interval" and "Grace Period" do the job + we get a slightly better experience in my opinion. Thanks for bringing this up though!
yes, I believe that is correct. I've been playing on these settings with 1.0 baby mature speed and my Wyvern got stuck at 94% imprinting with 30 sec left to the next imprint when maturing
I 100% agree with S+ mod absolutely hate it cause I play ps4 and we can't get any of them so every person that builds with S+ we cant do and there's so little ps4/ console content on RU-vid defiantly when it comes to simply building.
i was in your shoes a year ago... wanna know what i did? built a custom gaming pc... and no S+ is not cheating its quality of life get over it or buy a pc simple...
Honestly, I wanted to just play with dinos, but after the first 20 hrs I was thinking about official. I am a hard noob and not a pvp player at all nor a PvE player (I play Cities:Skylines and Satisfactory where enemies are rare and easy to non-existent) so this game did, and after 180hrs on the island, still scares the shit out of me, it is really hard and I just chalked it up as, I do not play games like this, so I never thought about it again really, but no, I screwed my self at the beginning. I watched a video like this before I started playing but didn't truly understand because I had not played yet, so when I started the game, the only thing I remembered was, put difficulty up to 1 for better dinos, and I have been playing that way for 180hrs. everything I grind takes so much work and effort that even with 180hrs, I still have never walked inland because I am scared of the grind that comes with loosing my stuff. I'll fly and land, collect and then take off, but I am scared walk, the dinos are strong. Because I did this, I have drastically slowed my progress and I have a fear that most do not. I have watched videos and seen people spawn a new character and not be scared to run around, it always looked weird to me, yea because my ark life comes with higher lvl dinos and a very long grind; from .2 upto 1.0, that has to be a massive difference in dino lvls, The thought of turning the rest of these stats up or down now that I know what I'm doing just makes at all seem easy, more metal, more obsidian, more pelt, the weight that has just been lifted off of my back is crazy heavy. I love the grind, it's my thing, but it never seemed worth it till now.
Hot take- changing the difficulty to 1 does make the game harder. Harder to find max level, 1/150 compared to 1/30, harder bosses, bosses scale with difficulty, harder start, easier end game maybe in terms of being able to walk around and kill everything in sight , but tbh is that one spec of the game worth making easier at the expense of every other part of the game.
I'm using the settings listed in the video, but my babies always fully mature before I can get the last imprinting bonus in. Any fixes for that? Alternatively (and preferably), do you know how I could set it up so that I would get 100% imprinting after giving care 2-3 times? The other settings in the video have been a lot of fun. Cheers!
It depends on the Dino. Some are easy 100%, other are a bit troublesome at these settings pace. Gotta be there and ready the second they want care + a sprinkle of luck.
The only thing I see as not a singleplayer setting is the baby maturation speed at 1. How is keeping a console on for 70+ hours for a Rex in any way singleplayer? Lol
Do you need to have the mod for the game to be more better, i dont think i have the folder to and i am not sure if i deleted or something, i use the Ark survival on epic games. Great Video Bro!
