47/48 has been my go to on pretty much every island map I've played. I'm addicted, it is so central. Great dino options (Theri/Argy/Anky/etc)nearby you can tame them from your base walls! And TONS of alphas to grind XP
oh boy, nice too see u still active, holy moly... i remember how we played on the same official videos where u build ure castle at a spot where now the swamp is near the red ark. I build a tower with one of the tutorials u did in the past with some out going balconirs for argys and u liked that xD
I'm building at location 2 at the moment with a metalsmelting / crystal gathering / argy taming thing just over the redwood. Next location might be topright where you said or snowcliff. thnx for the video
Finally someone likes my favorite location in the snow biome! 29.4 x 8.3. I've got a nice little cabin in ASE single player that I love. So many resources - once you get an otter to keep your neck warm. lol
Oh my. I came here to scout out some new base locations and found out my first base is at the place you suggested as a starting spot.. :) I guess I chose well. Onward and upward!
In pvp if I can't claim a cave or underwater cave immediately, I always build small, in the densest, least traveled forest I can find, swamp and parts of the mangroves can be good, so I can stay hidden until I have everything to drop a big base with full turrets as high up as possible. That way by the time I'm noticed, it's too late to raid me easily. As long as i can keep my first hidden base a secret, I'll usually be one of the only solo players that can hold off other tribes on the map. Or I get offlined by random kids, it's Ark after all lol. In pve, I build wherever has the best view. It's pve so I have time to burn running for resources lol. If it's not flat or level, remember you can build on pillars to make a big flat space, then lower walls from the edges to make it all look "connected" to the ground. That trick is great for castlevania style castles on the sides of cliffs. I imagine it works even better with the building improvements. Sorry, im rambling again lol, I just like building stuff 😁
I love the beach area at 86-31. Extremely safe, no big predators. Just the annoying seagulls, and the occasional pegomastix. It's fairly flat, with a couple of tiers of cliff that you can build off of like I did. The biggest problem is that it's very far away from a large amount of metal nodes, with trees also requiring a bit of travel unless you build a staircase up the cliff to eliminate the time
The Ice island at the very top left which used to be an arch was a great base in ASE. Not sure now though. I had made my base there back when they first implemented the the Frozen zone. But when I first made my base I had built my base around 40lat-50lat to 70 long under a pillar. It was south of the swamp zone and north of the green obelisk.
my backup spot didnt make the cut which I'm happy with(dont want to advertise it) , but its one of the few spots i've not seen explored in ASA at all so im guessing its been altered. good list ty
I'm surprised my location wasn't mentioned. I guess that's a good thing. It's a plateau just south of the North Eastern mountain and north of the Eastern swamp
Far West on the peakest of the land between the woods and the iceberg have a good underwater cliff that you can build base on top. Laying down some pillar and start put up the ceiling just above the water and now you got a nice land-sea base. It's very close to the mountain for crystal, obsidian and rich metal also close to iceberg for oil rock and silicar too.
Does the Rhynio vault trick still work in ascended? Could be a great way to have a nice flat base far from the mountains without costing you hours of your life 😅
And then getting killed by raptors because you ran out of stamina at the wrong time. (What even is best practice for flyers? I'm considering making a network of minor outposts that are just safe landing sites, or do you just let one level up a ton and max out stamina?) I decided to give up scouting blind and look for a list of places that are safe but not a million miles away. Herbivore Island has been nice, but its time to have a place that i can reasonably get dinos to. Having water within the safe area would be nice.
with flyers always look for a safe landing at 1/3 stamina and if you need to stretch it, dont sprint. never dismount as soon as you land, give it about 6 seconds and listen for fast footsteps and see if any herbivores are running around. if they are running they were attacked so there's a good chance predators are around. blind exploring can be fun if you remember these few safety precautions ! extra: having a boat with an enclosed bed and mount can give you a mobile starting spot to ease strain on flyer and keep a camp close while exploring.

Game won't allow me to build on the 'Eagles Nest' area, "Too close to supply crate location" and this is singleplayer, is any setting can can change to fix this?
I have to say that i am over the Island. Will see how it goes down on console. Also what are the drops like. One of the things i am not looking forward to is how bad the drops were. Unless you really needed crop pots and glass jars. Between the better maps and these days unofficial servers i have become a tiny bit spoiled lol. Well if you can say anything other than crop pots in drops being spoiled.
Well if it doesn't change in the next few days drops are absolutely bonkers. People have been getting good shotguns, flak, and rifles from basic red/yellow drops. Tons of decent saddle bps or straight saddles. Hard poly, pre-crafted food items, organic, metal ingots, ammo, spear bolts galore, and not a crop plot in sight. They changed the loot tables. A LOT. Drop runs on the surface of the island are actually good. Haven't seen how cave drops, sea crates, and Liopleurodon boosts do. But the loot so far on official rates is broken as hell compared to what we had before. Then rings giving double loot too. A bit spoiled might be overstatement now. These drops are gonna make us all loot goblins. Raas, teach, and a few other people did some drop spawn experiments or drop runs and the results are insane.
@@DracoJ That sounds awesome actually. I hope no one lets Wildcard in on that haha. I do have a fear when the console version and crossplay happens the drops might change. But yea wow. The drops before really did make going on drop hunts utterly pointless. :)
Amazing graphics, is just me or can everyone anyone afford RTX 4 series’s now? And then if u want to play ASA with its poor optimization , u will need to buy a super rig ,i only have a RTX 3060 laptop ver, as mush as I love this game , and like many others we want be playing this game
Streamers mostly have 4090/80s because its what they do for work. I have a 4070 and it runs the game decently @ 4k with a mix of settings and very solid @2k with most things maxed. You don't need to shell a ton out to get into a 40 series and get decent performance. If the rumors about the 40 super refresh are true too, then the cost of entry should get reduced.
I'm playing on xbox 360 and I'm disgusted that developers have moved on to better graphics just to please those who have up to date rigs and consoles. I'll not be buying.
@@NOOBLETS spent ages the other day looking for beaver dams. Found beavers no dams. Did a Dino wipe, hours later not even a beaver. Changed Dino count from 1 to 5 hardly any change. Completely busted! restarted to see if it changes but am not holding out hope.
Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you and you can use meshing and exploits to make dinos breed faster😋😛🤑🤑🤑😝
