It's kinda flat near the beach but only for a smaller base! It's kind of uneven, I was about to try placing some foundations down and then my game crashed XD

I would base it on whether or not you plan on taming a lot of water creatures because #18 you can't really use that base for any water tames as there's no cryos right now :(...I love how close #18i s to rare resources and Carno Island though, ofcourse you could just set up a water pen away from base anyway!

Hey! It could definitely be much bigger, I just did a rough rectangle and in that case the foundations were too high on one side to keep building out but I hadn't lowered the foundation at all so could definitely get bigger if lowering the foundations on the flatter areas to be able to snap more foundations where the ground begins to slope down :)@@KaFullah

Mine's nothing special mate, I'm currently running this on low to medium settings because my PC sounds like it's going to blow up when I try high or epic settings haha! The Unreal engine must still make it look half decent because If I played ASE on these settings it would look ass :D

@@BEYPlaysGames Yeah. But I think it got to a point where most ppl have to use the lowest settings and it’s looks worse than ark SE defeating the main purpose of a remaster. I could play the last game at high and this game has to be at all low.

Yeah it's shocking to be honest, have to spend £2000 - £3000 on a PC that can run it on higher settings 😢@@stealthhunter6998

Unfortunately not, it's crazy we are not able to use cryopods! I have noticed they have made some of the cave entrances wider, for example hard snow cave had a tiny gap for an entrance before where I don't think even a Direwolf could fit through, you can probably fit a Theri or something through that now! Going to take us abit of adjusting playing without cryos i'm sure XD

@@BEYPlaysGameswell for pvp I like that they got rid of cryopods. It made the game too easy and made raiding too easy. Now that it’s harder to raid maybe my base won’t get wiped every damn weekend 💀 I’d like to have a pvp base that lasts longer than 2 weeks 💀😭 altho I would’ve appreciated a option to have it for PVE I’d like cryos in my single player world once it comes to console but I like they got rid of it for pvp. Plus we got mods now so surely someone will make a cryo mod or a soul ball mod like on pc ther will prolly be some unofficial pvp servers using them too so there’s that to think ab if you just rlly want the cryos back for pvp 🤷🏼‍♂️ just gotta find the right server

Honestly fully agree, LOVE that we are back to not having cryos! Yeah it's definitely a massive change for PVE, not really any plus to not having them there!@@DiamondSquidy

@@BEYPlaysGames yeah I felt like cryos were just OP I mean the cool down timer was long so you couldn’t spam it but if you got a whole buffed up stego line and 3+ ppl you don’t need to spam. And the fact that they’re changing crouch caves and stuff to compensate for the changes rlly helps balance the game better than it ever was imo. Bc the only counter to crouch caves that Ik of is cryos so obviously if you get rid of one gotta get rid of the other 🤷🏼‍♂️

non offficial servers have offline damage prevention, we have it on our server

Well yeah that's the only downside XD I always orbit camera when sailing over so I know when to run away or find another way to avoid it :D

Thanks! I have been using it which definitely does improve fps but do you not think it makes the colours really painful to look at? haha, it hurts my eyes playing the game, super frustrating that the game is so badly optimized!

@@BEYPlaysGames Seems volumetric clouds are bugged atm, they glitch and cause framedrops. A future patch might fix this. Can't really agree with you saying the lighting and shadows are bad though. If you run them at 'High' or above everything looks great. With clouds still enabled you sometimes get awesome lightray effects through the trees in the mist. With some more optimisation it will truly be a next gen game imo.

I do agree and I love the look of the shadows at high settings but I do find it very hard to see like a dinosaur that bum rushes you out the bushes for example :D@@ArbaLestos

There's actually a ton of changes in almost everything. The creature AI has gotten better too it seems.

@@inugamiguru3874 creature ai? I press x to doubt. they only updated the ai pathfinding. which was needed because it is a new terrain type (wouldn't want them to try and pathfind through objects that weren't there before). But it is not like their actual behaviour (the ai) has changed.

Very uneven tbh, there's some parts of the grass area that you could build a 10x10 or maybe a 15x15 structure!

I'm not on the game currently but I haven't had that problem, I haven't changed my settings at all, did you mean you enabled PVE?

@@Kkronoz42069 I've got an NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060, 12th Gen Intel Core 17-12700K and 32gb ram, honestly my PC is struggling and i'm currently recording these with low to medium settings so i'm probably going to have to upgrade my PC to properly enjoy this game :(

@@BEYPlaysGames sadly the game is so poorly optimised that at 1080p max settings not even a 4080 can run it at 60fps... You will need to use upscaling and a mix of high and medium for best settings on any GPU

They can rarely spawn anywhere tbh really but at least that spot is a little easier to gate off or kite it into the water 😁

Yeah to be honest, most of the locations on the video I would expect it but i'm very surprised you saw an alpha there, I don't think I've ever seen one in that area, just Raptors really! Must have gotten really unlucky :(...it's nowhere near as hard as most of the spots!@@killernator25

An alpha Raptor can basically spawn anywhere on the map really minus the snow biome so it's just really unlucky!

It's more for the building opportunity and it has some great starter metal and creatures to tame (i'm actually pretty certain it is the only friendly area that an Ankylo will spawn on the map as they normally spawn on mountains, or the snow which are both very hostile areas) I find the gap from the mainland is a pretty short distance, by the time it aggros you're almost at the island XD...Can't say i've ever lost my raft going back and forth, I usually always check before sailing though!
