@@bettlekettle oh that sounds like real problems here, I mean I never had crashes on ps4 but I just basically run with 10 fps on every map Your issues are way worse tho, hope that you'll be able to find a solution (or that devs finally decide to debug and optimize their game but Jesus comeback seems more realistic X) (sorry for my poor English)

@@cohoseco1023 yeah, it wasnt that noticeable at first (completely random, rare chance, but ive never really crashed ingame on other maps so it was very weird), but as i progressed more and more it got worse and worse and ive crashed 4 times in the past hour today and all i was doing was raising baby rock drakes, paras, a deino and a yuty at my base. nothing action packed, literally just sitting and watching. every crash, its deleted either 5 minutes worth of progress, or 30. its ridiculous, and im going to prob transfer one of the raised rock drakes to crystal isle (which ive never tried since it didnt interest me til now) and start fresh. i even had 2 sets of rock drake twins (3 eggs) and deino triplets in a row, all mentioned eggs 100+ (lowest rock drake 100 but event colors so i kept it).... and then it crashed and i only got 1 set of rock drake twins. thats why after every crash i just spawn the shit i gathered back in and the saveworld command has become my new best friend even if the crashing has caught me offguard more than once while using it, insane.. lol thanks ark. moving on from my very ""pleasant"" day, i agree 100%, i'd take optimization over new dinos anyday with this game. fjordur is hardly playable, transfering is a gamble so im nervous, im probably going to stop playing fjordur all together until something happens but since its console that seems unlikely, might as well move all my rainbow colored tames to crystal isle or lost island. (and no worries my friend for the english!!! i just hope this wasnt to much of a hassle to read lmao)

I have always enjoyed playing ARK on the PC, though the previous iteration of ARK for the Switch has quite a bit of issues, but this ultimate edition seems to have improved quite a lots in comparison, I look forward to adding the ARK: Ultimate Survivor physical edition to my Switch open world collection right next to my recent No Man Sky Switch edition~

I can't believe we're here, honestly, it just feels like ark has taken most of the tangible wrongs, and made them right. The bugs and performance may still not be great, but I'm glad to see that, after so long, scorched finally gets its rightful ascention, and the switch version is made playable. This whole trailer recreating iconic moments gives me so much nostalgia. Regardless of that, thanks for making such a great game!

While that is true there is still huge issues going on with Official PVP that is being ignored by Wildcard. The mass amount of cheaters, dupers etc existing and not enough talk about it. They might be fixing bugs behind the scenes but they aren't nearly vocal about it, acknowledge how bad it is and how much they are willing to do for the community to fix it. It's a massive problem bleeding the player base dry which is not a positive thing at all Ark 2 coming or not. If they truly care they need to at least be so much more transparent, honest and vocal weekly on the matter.

Thank you sooooo much Wildcard!! I first heard and played ARK at a friends house back in 2015 on his ps4. Eventually, I started to play on my own when I got a switch several years ago and now I have probably 3K+ hours in ARK across several platforms. My little sister likes to play it and she will be SOOOO happy to play all these new (to her) maps! :D

don't expect 60fps, but yeah, apparently they did an impressive job with performance. Game no longer runs 240p in handheld and seems to target 720p-1080p.

The first thing I see is a great visual improvement, something that is appreciated, but a question if I have already bought it, will I have to buy it separately or not and they will add all the maps or just tell us about all the maps. I just read the description and I already saw that it will be free for all those who already have the game. I got ark on switch thinking I could have a wyvern, it’s said “name your fire wyvern” but the wyvern didn’t show up, this was in 2020, glad to see the packs are coming to switch because it was just ark mobile on a switch for the longest time lol

I’m glad Ark’s been updated. There are so many things I never got to try because of the old version. Do want to report a bug though… I have a high level Ankylosaurus for gathering metal on the island, particularly the mountains. I placed it in a Cryopod while I dealt with a wild Rex and ever since, every time I throw the Cryopod it just crashes the game. Strangely all my other ones work fine. I’ve heard other people are having this problem so I thought I’d mention it in case you hadn’t heard.

loyal 3000 hours of old player here, Ark has brought me the most joyful moments, as an interior designer I enjoy the possibilities of architctures with the open minded mod supports, building a home adds extra flavour in this large open survival game while taming and breeding the coolest creatures in history. Ark brought me happiness but also made me upset when friends leaving and quitting the game due to poor server connecting issues, spam of pillars everywhere, and lack of options of hosting customized servers just to play with friends. I really hope Ark2 turn to be another masterpiece and the issues will be addressed.

We need a Switch 2 so badly Nintendo. I commend Grove Street Games for re-porting this game for the current Switch though. Because this is looking pretty amazing so far. Lets all cross our fingers that Studio Wildcard prioritize the core issues this time around from launch, like meshing, overcrowded servers, and corrupted saves. because It has appeared to be an afterthought for the better part of the first 4 years. I've had to start from scratch around 4 times in the last 2 weeks because I logged back in and found my mods were removed and my settings reverted. I'm tired of logging in after a long work day to find all my hard work has just vanished.

I would love to play Ark on my Switch (if it actually runs well enough). But I don't think I could go back to playing vanilla. There are 2 QOL mods that I just need (Awesome Spyglass and Dino Stirage V2) and a few that I would REALLY miss (like S+, Awesome Teleporters, Construction Tool, Stacking Mods, etc).

Before anyone in the comments says "It's about time" remember that compared to base ps4 and Xbox one the switch preforms like the pre gen platforms. So the fact that Wildcard is making these preforming intense maps avalive on the switch is remarkable

I will definitely be supporting the development for making things right. Even if it's not 100% I'll be buying the game to support them. As Switch owners we need to come together and support developers who try and do right by us. Not too mention they are upgrading all previous owners with the new update, that's amazing in itself. This game actually looks awesome although the framerate is a little low. I'll be buying just for support and then I'll be waiting to see the Digital Foundry comparison technical. I can't wait to see how much has changed, etc.
