No, the fun would've been sucked out of the game as you'd have no challenge to beat the game, thereby having no set goal to complete the game in (continues used, trying to do it without continuing). Modern games give you infinite lives to beat them, sucks the fun right out. Besides, this game has unlimited continues, so you stand a chance, plus it has a way to let you skip the first 15 to 16 levels with a code.
In the North America version there are 2 or 3 extra rounds before Doh in the Japanese version Doh is Round 33 but in the North American version Doh is round 36 also round 3 is a bit easier in the North American version in the Japanese version Round 3 has some gold bricks right near the bottom close to the player’s platform those gold bricks aren’t there in the North American version
