From the talking heads at CBS Sports ; Arkansas Over/under 4.5 Wins: Arkansas Pine Bluff, UAB, at Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech Losses: at Oklahoma State, at Auburn, Texas A&M, Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas, at Missouri Analaysis: This feels like a pivotal year for Sam Pittman after 2023's shocking downturn. The Razorbacks made wholesale changes in the offseason, highlighted by the return of ex-coach Bobby Petrino in the offensive coordinator role. He'll have a new quarterback to work with after KJ Jefferson hit the transfer portal. Top running back Raheim Sanders departed as well as the offense faces a major overhaul. It just doesn't feel like Arkansas has the wheels to hold up against a tough schedule. That early season road game against Oklahoma State will set the tone. Pick: Under 4.5 (-114) Mississippi St. must really suck this next season ......
Football recruiting and commitments at this point doesn't really matter. If Pittman and this staff are gone after this season, almost all these guys will decommit and reopen their recruiting. The new coach will have very little time to put together a class. That will set the program back even more. Typical poor decisions from those in charge regarding the football program. Should've made the change last year when Pittman was having a bad recruiting class anyway. That way a new coach would have a year to put together a class. But that would make too much sense.
Arkansas won't have a good season unless Pittman lets Petrino truly run his offense. Pittman is a old school coach who believes running the 🏈. That style has not worked for years it only gets you fired.
Even if Carius Curne was to recommit to the hogs I don’t think we want him. I think he enjoys toying schools and coaches for that pay day. Trust me I get the hustle but it doesn’t feel right here at Arkansas
