Definitely wasn’t about the money but actually *serving his community.* Remember, when he started working as a cop he worked for free. This is what being a peace officer is. It was a calling for this gentleman.
Being a peace officer is... working for free?? Oh hell no. Each work deserves salary. Especially when said work involves the carrying and risk of use of firearms against armed criminals. You have to have motivation different than money, but you can't expect people to actually work pretty much anywhere without a decent salary. The calling should be what drives you to work, of course. But the calling AND the salary (amongst some other things, but these two first and foremosy) are what should make you stay.
@@TheRealCozyWhat job? He's not an active officer running after criminals, he's pretty much just a PR guy, and he seemed to do his job pretty damm well!
I don’t think it was about the money. It’s something he loved doing with his time. It wasn’t work to him. Nothing wrong with that. Of course he was to old to be out there patrolling as a beat cop. He had a good relationship with the community so the Department gave him a safe position off the streets.
What an incredible American considering his service as a peace officer and society. An inspiration to citizens and other law enforcement alike. Blessings!
Thanks for all your years of service!. The good Lord kept you healthy all those years and watched over you God Bless you sir you are an inspiration to all officers at every age including myself.😊
What a great name. Decorated jacket, laser focused, no BS. Seems like it was a wonderful privilege for these officers to work with a guy who's seen it ALL
This man is a inspiration we got him and we got a 48 year old riding bulls at the highest levels all these guys are an inspiration that you don’t quit until your ready bless you buckshot smith and have a good time fishing
Now just hearing Mr Buckshot Smith story! I pray you enjoying every moment… If you like come to Georgia… I live on and own a 300 acres farm with several fishing spots. You and your family are welcome over to Georgia…
It's quite sad that he wants to continue doing this job because he loves it so much, but his age just wouldn't allow it anymore. Can't imagine doing a job for more than 60 years and finally doing it for the last time.
Would have been nice if the reporter could have correctly pronounced his nickname, "Buckshot". Not Bucksot. He is a rare breed. Thanks for your service!
