Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus!It's a great ru-vid.comUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!

Almost got an Arken. I actually just bought a Bergara B-14 HMR wilderness in 308 from Euro Optic in store, I live like 2.5hrs away. An they had the Vortex PST Gen II 5-25x50 FFP EBR 2C in Mills for $650 because Vortex is doing the 7c now. If it wasn't for that I'd have gotten an Arken instead for sure. Although if anyone lives within driving distance of Euro Optic I'd definitely recommend a visit. They put everything together for me free of charge. I didn't even need to ask. Even set down a mat for me to lay on and get my eye relief right before they leveled and bore sighted the scope. Nice bunch of guys and gals. They went over and beyond. An they knew what they were doing and gave good advice with reasoning to back it up. But they weren't pushy either. Very competent salespeople. Although my lady wants a 6.5 precision rifle of her own now. So an Arken might be in our future anyways.

I like it, can't remember last time I used windage, so capped is a plus. Seems like Arken just knocked out the competition, in this price range and above. 15 years ago to get this performance, it would take 1200 to 1500 to accomplish this, now I paid $349 to achieve that level of precision...it's really unbelievable. Rex thanks for all your help over the years. Along with experience, you've taught me alot.

I tried out an Arken on your suggestion. Needless to say, I ended up getting a second one. The only "downside" with the 34mm scopes is they are built like tanks, and are kinda bigger and bulkier than I am used to. That being said, the scopes track nearly perfectly and I really love the reticle. I am a decent shot, but the precision of how the reticle is set up is next level awesome. That fine dot makes for very precise zeros, which in turn makes for more precise holdovers.

Got a EP5 on my bergara 6.5 PRC very impressed. Ran it next to a buddies 7mm wby mag with a nightforce ATACR. Performed just as well on long range shots with the cheaper setup in the bergara.

Sounds like Arken is a less expensive, not cheaper, choice. Huge difference between less expensive versus cheap optics. Getting ready to add an Arken now. Been putting off buying one, but it'll make a good Christmas gift to myself. Keep speaking the truth Rex.

I love what you're saying about price-point, exactly what my dad taught me: he was a heavy duty mechanic and most folks think professional mechanics use Snap-on or Mac Tools. Yes there are some places like ratchets that the price jump is worth the difference, but far and away his toolbox was filled with craftsman (back when craftsman was American made of course) and Mastercraft (which has also taken a distinct dive in the last 5 years, Stanly tools might be a better modern comparison) and I could count on one hand the Snap-on tools he had! I see scopes the same: if I was volunteering in Ukraine you darned rights I'd shell out, but on a truck rifle, nope nope nope. Horses for courses!

This is really interesting, I have a sh4 gen2. I'm really liking the capped windage turret. I actually prefer a small tight eye box when zoomed in, it forces you to get in the same position all the time.

I remember when people use to say spend twice as much on an optic than you did on the rifle. With arken you don’t have to. I bought an MPA ba pmr pro in 6.5 creedmoor $2500 rifle put a ep5 6-25x56 and glad I did. By far the best optic I’ve owned

This EP looks pretty cool. I took your advice on the SH4. I put a PA 4-14 on my 20" Aero Precision 308 upper and it was shooting minute of target. I don't want to bother taking a scope off of any of my dialed in rifles to test my belief that it's the scope not holding zero. Your point about having extras is exactly right.

@@Chanthalaluang I can't remember, but it was about what I expected. Like around two weeks. I only took it out one time, and zeroed it, and confirmed that it was the PA scope, not the gun that was at fault. I haven't reached out to PA yet, so I'm not writing them off. I still recently bought their 3X micro prism scope, and I like it fine.

update, information I got from Arken support. The set screws for the turrets can use a little threadlocker. Their recommendation is Vibra Tite VC-3 or 122, specifically designed for optics undergoing recoil energy from a rifle. Loctite can get old and crack. About half and half is my experience so far. Some have had the problem of slipping turrets, some have not. I have looked on forums and seen this problem with other brands, such as SWFA. I like Vortex and have a number of scopes from them. Crossfire II Dead Hold, Diamondback Tactical, Venoms, binoc, laser rangerfinder. But I also have some Arken units and like the features on them, as well, including the easy-to-use zero stop. Brighter glass, illumination, which I do not use much. I also respect Rex's opinion, even if he is an affiliate. Usually money rules over all. But I remember the video where he compared to the S&B and the Arken had almost no bloom from light source and the S&B had some.

Spent several days evaluating an EP5. Turrets are dead on. From the bench in the shade glass was ok, but if you’re shooting towards a sunset, the glass becomes very hazy. It’s as if the scope fogged up inside. Again, the turrets were dead on, but the glass sucks. There are probably better options for the money I don’t know about, but the SWFA glass is much better IMHO. My go to is Minox, Kahles and March. I do think it will work fine for 90% of applications. I was still able to hit my targets at 500 yards with the hazy glass at 25x magnification, but I have seen better glass at this price point. For $250 I’d rather use an SWFA 10x or 12x.

Absolutely love my SH4. Thanks for 'pushing' this thing. As a guy with a very high IQ and a back ground heavy in science, as well as your 35 year experience with shooting as a kid and in the military, how could we find a more qualified opinion? You are doing us all a huge favor. It is this poor boy's dream. It's been on an on several rifles. I have not decided. I need more of these. If I could, I'd back up the truck. We need at least two of these per rifle. My friends are impressed as well. And I've alerted my readers, and will mention this scope in another article that will be published next week. It is good to know that these are still on sale. And I will link to this video. This new scope would be ideal for an AR.

Love my SH4. You did not mention the biggest new feature "Side Parallax Adjustments, 10yds" my SH4 focuses @ 28yds for me 28yds is a little too far for my hunting sometimes. It will be perfect for my FX M3. I know you long range guys do not care about close parallax but its a smart move by Arken opens up a whole new range of shooters who will now look at a Arken with the closer parallax.

Thanks Rex. I followed your advise and put an EP5 on my B14 HMR. For $1500 total, I feel like I've got a capable package for getting started in long range shooting. I've shot rifleman at Appleseed with a $40 Simmons so I know it's not always about the money despite the often quoted rule of spending 2 times the rifle $ for your scope. I'm just out here trying to build my skills, not go broke. Wondering if the new EPLs would be a good match for an AR10 like the new Ruger.... guess I'll have to find out.

My only problem with Arken is that the allen head set screws let go and the turret cover ("scales") can spin freely after a few weeks to a month of sitting in the gun cabinet doing nothing. Also, Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Two buddies of mine both got two of these,buddy number one had a great experience. Buddy number two had bad reticles in both of them, they wouldn’t zero no matter how hard we tried. The ones that are good are nice but the ones that are bad won’t hit the barn side of a broad, seems like they have some QC issues going on.

I really believe profit margins for Chinese made scopes are ridiculously huge. I think they cost well under $100 apiece to manufacture for their materials and extremely cheap labor. To replicate the scopes in other countries such as Japan, Europe or even the USA, it would probably cost at least 5x to 10x the cost of labor and using domestic (NON cheap Chinese) materials.

This looks like a fantastic “western” hunting rifle scope in my opinion (which isn’t worth much) I like a reticle with fine graduations on the windage for wind holds and a capped windage turret. An elevation turret with either a zero stop or a locking turret. I’m ok with mils or moa and will pick between them based on how fine the graduations on the windage stadia are. 4-16x with a FFP is perfect. And as light as possible. Compare this to the vortex “LHT”. I honestly like the feature set on the arken better and like 1/4 the cost.

Im pretty intrested in the ep5, too bad its a 990€ scope in Finland. And the only store that has one in stock is about 400km away. Liked Womfats review. Ive looked at a minox lr and he said the image isnt as good as that. I have the m5xi 5-25 and m7xi 4-28 (2400 and 2800 here) and they beat out the Minox in image quality. The vpr reticle looks really intresting and pretty similar to the msr2 reticle. Too bad arken doesnt make cw dials.

I have two, one is the 6-24x50ir and the other is the 5-30x56ir. I did use your code and I appreciate it very much. I have a Maven 4.5-30x56 one more of my guns also. And have to say that the maven is a better scope but a lot more money and just by a hair better. The glass is a little bit better and it doesn't get into the dark Zone as quick at High power. If I could sell my maven I would get 3 more Arken scopes.

I’m still skeptical on exactly what is going on regarding manufacturing. My guess is someone is using a shop that manufactures more expensive scopes for their brand production. I’m hoping this in affect is creating a better product than typical Ali express stuff. If this is true it may be wise to buy these scopes now before they increase the price after they get popular. Or decrease in value when they change manufacturers to get more in house profits. Please feel free to criticize this comment because I’m open to learning what don’t know. And on that note let me know if you have the same suspicion.

I have a pile in the back of my shop that you would not believe of stuff that was sent to me that I do not talk about because it does not work. Plus, conducting T&Es with solid methods and materials is very expensive on my end. Leupolds are quality made scopes and if they were really cheaply made with huge profit markups, they would just junk it and send you a brand new scope no questions like how Chinese scopes with US brand labels are doing. Their markup is so insanely huge that they can just keep sending you brand new replacements and still made good money from your original purchase price.

We have an Arken 4-15 34mm tube. It does work good. My son will be using it when we go deer hunting in the mountains (we live in Idaho) in a couple of weeks. I will probably get one of these lighter ones, but not right now. It might be very cold and snowy when we go deer hunting. It does not have a waterproof rating that I can find. Know what the water proof rating is? Will it be dependable in the rain and snow. I think we did go hunting with it one time in the rain.

Mine has been soaked in snow and ice in extreme cold weather… I do not have a pressure vessel to do a true 1 atm test. Those submersion tests where people put it a foot under the water or a couple feet under the water don’t really tell waterproofing anyways. For every 33 feet (10.06 meters) you go down, the pressure increases by one atmosphere. I would need a pool or a pond 33 feet deep to do a proper 1 atmosphere test. I am guessing if Arken did that sort of testing they would advertise it for sure. That is one of the tests that the top shelf brands feel quite often. Big name outfits that people have respected for decades.

When mine got slightly wet it was fine. So I suppose it is at least practically “water resistant” to some degree.

Oh god I recognize that ceiling... is that a cape cod style house? God a hate a cape cod. So many angles. So many drywall and doorframe sag issues. My parents have a cape cod. It looks pretty outside from a distance when it's new. But what a pain when they get old. yeash... I'd rather have a bi-level, and I always call them John Podesta houses (although I used to call them Freddie Mercury houses before Biden). An the fact that I hate cape cods so much that I'd rather have a house that looks like a troll with a bad case of overbite is telling.

Basically if it has those stupid windows that jut out from the roof on their own like frog eyes it's a cape cod. An they known for lots of odd angles, nooks, and crannies on the second floor.

I have $2800 -$4000 optic’s and I totally agree those Arken scopes are great I recommend them all the time to people who want to get into long range shooting
