Thank you :) It's one of the first things I look at when thinking about an item. Sometimes I will get something regardless, but 99% of the time, fabric is key for me :)
I love how you're incorporating red into your wardrobe now. I used to stay away from them and only wore them for Chinese New Year but I'm trying to have more reds in my wardrobe because it flatters my skin.
Oh yes, it is one of the bright colours recommended to me from my analysis with Merriam so have been adding pops here and there. I think it's quickly becoming one of my favourite bright colours to wear :) Happy holidays Devina xx
Been loving Helen's videos for a long time because she always goes into materials, cut, sometimes when she reviews shoes she would mention how the wear and tear... for people who are trying to build a wardrobe with items that work hard, I think this channel is a good place to start
Winner 🏆 🥇 love it again honest to goodness review no hold barred you're the best of giving tips and tricks from the bottom of your heart for me you look beautiful of all those colors ❤️ it I have a few of those trousers 👖for work I'm loving it specially here in Toronto when it's cold 🥶
Their trousers would be so great for work! Thank you so much, I do try to make sure I mention both the good and bad as best as I can :) Really appreciate you watching xx
Hey Helen! The green earrings are gorgeous on you, so pretty! They definitely make your neutral outfits much more interesting (like the outfit you are wearing in the video). The reds in the video also suit you very much (the pants and the front zip sweater). In my opinion the cobalt blue looks good enough on you, because you have brown hair and brown / orange is the complimentary color to blue. It is definitely an accent, but I like it!
I got the Arket mid-length puffer coat through the H&M website for Black Friday (Tip! H&M stocks Arket and &Other Stories and discounts can work on items from these brands) which was an excellent buy.
Really liked this video ! My problem with Arket is their colors, they never seem to be right for me. They mostly do cool tones and it’s just not flatering on me. The cuts are also quite difficult for me being 1m55. It’s been a long time I haven’t bought anything from them but I keep looking at their collection every season. 😅 The blazer though is quite nice but I don’t need it for now.
I have noticed that their colours do lean very cool - the exception for me are their taupe/beige, warm reds. Hopefully they release more warm shades because that's definitely what I gravitate towards too :) Thank you so much for watching and happy holidays xx
The blue looks splendid on you and works with your skin tone, it creates a soft contrast with it and your lip colour. You look like spring in it...if that makes any sense😅
Every week I look forward to Sunday to watch your video and like all other weeks this one did not disappoint! I feel like your style has changed quite substantially since your colour analysis and you seem to have been embracing more bold colours. I remember watching a video in which you reviewed a red top from & Other Stories as one of the purchases that didn’t work out for you, so I’m glad you’ve found a way to incorporate red into your wardrobe as it seems to suit you well (prob a bit better than the cobalt blue imho). Taking about colours, you had a beautiful green wallet bag from Cafune that wasn’t included in your last bags review - how did you feel about that bag? Did it get many wears? Thanks & have a lovely week!
Thank you so much :) I really appreciate it xx Ever since my colour analysis, I've felt much more confident wearing colour and knowing which ones to go for. I'm still figuring things out but at least I have some options to start with :) I also think the exact shade is probably the most important, that red tank top years ago I remember being a bit brighter than this due to the opaque fabric. Whereas the sheer fabric actually makes it feel a bit softer in comparison. For the Cafune bag, it was great but I did let go of it when I purchased my Loewe puzzle because I felt like they held the same amount, was the small size and both had a little green on it. I would still recommend it as a great mini bag x
Thank you!! It's nice to add them to the rotation so my white pair can have a little break sometimes haha. Happy holidays, thank you so much for watching x
Nice and useful review. I have found some very beautiful knits at &Other Stories that are actually in Sezane quality. Haven't tried their bottoms, though.
I've been eyeing the Hopsack Wool Trousers and this looks soooo good on you! I'm the same height as you with 27.5" waist and 35" hip,. Do you reckon size 34 or 36 would fit me better?
Thanks Helen for your thorough video I really enjoyed it and learnt lots of tips ☺️ I liked the little details in your editing, your efforts are noticed! Also the wooden screen is so cool. I love your collection of trousers. I always wondered, do you find wool trousers itchy? This might sound naive, but I was always been under the impression that wool is itchy and hot. As a fellow Sydney sider, do you find wool trousers appropriate to wear all year round or only during the cooler seasons? I'm also the same height and I really appreciate how you mention how long items are especially the sleeves, which I feel are harder to tailor compared to pants (which I always need to get shortened too I feel your struggle 😅).
Thank you, I"m so glad to hear!! So wool trousers - there's one type that's more like suiting - and this tends to be very smooth and comfy for me without any irritation. The other type is thicker, almost woollen feeling (like a knit) and these can be more hit and miss. I wear 100% wool trousers most of the year (just not during summer) and they are usually lightweight enough. The fabric is never usually very thick. Hope this helps xx
Thank you for your in dept review! I received the Arket merino top today but in doubt if i want to keep it. I think it's a bit tight. Does the material loosen over time?
I agree about the blue being not so fabulous on you. You are so very lovely that it is a subtle thing, but the slightly warmer colors really work beautifully on you. This very cool color may not play well with your other pieces.
Recently bought my first piece from Arket and am loving it (though it is long, but that's to be expected from a Scandi brand if you're short..) Love the cobalt blue sweater on you 😍 Though I'm always a bit sceptical about glitter since I don't want it getting everywhere 😅
Thank you! It's the worst when glitter falls everywhere. This one is very fine, and it's metallic thread I believe so no issues with fallout. Happy holidays and thank you for watching :)
After seeing you in those brown/beige pants l bought them myself. (It’s just very different to see them on a model vs. someone l can relate) They are fantastic, all l really wanna wear these days!! Even replace my loungewear😂
Thank you so much, I'm glad they've worked out for you too :) I usually change asap when I get home but with loose trousers, I sometimes actually lounge around in them because they're that comfortable in the right size :)
Hey! Lumiere your contents are just wonderful and I really love your vlogs so so much you're looking too too pretty in all haul and I wish you reach 70K Subscribers very very soon!💞💫😭
Ive found the fitted light weight wool tops are a favorite item and very useful. I go to them more often than I thought I would. I like the bright blue on you. I know you say you lean warm, but I think it's a nice pop of color on you. It's odd that Arket does not ship to the US. That is where I live, so I can't purchase from them.
I agree, they're some of the most versatile pieces for Autumn/Winter :) I hope they ship to the US soon/or at least open some physical stores! Thank you for watching, happy holidays x
You should try the “organically grown linen wide leg pant” at Country Road. Much more flattering, and a local brand in Australia which is easily obtainable !
I have got to try them on next time! I often struggle with sizing at CR but it's been years so I need to give it another try. Thank you for the recommendation :) xx
I have that same first pair of trousers - the color is so unique and stunning. I love them. Im only 159 cm, so I hemmed them myself. Now they are way better on me. But I wished that Arket had a jumper or shirt in the same color.v
I do love the colour! :) I think it works especially well when trying to make brighter colours look softer. Thank you for watching and happy holidays xx
Definitely can look into this in the new year! It's been a while since I've had one so I don't know if I have many appropriate looks. I tend to go for something that's modern and sleek, usually black if I'm being honest in a modern silhouette :) Thanks for watching xx
I don’t think it’s that cool tones don’t work as well for your complexion. Because you look great in navy! We have similar complexions and I find some very saturated colors like cobalt, are so opposite of the olive in my skin that it makes me look grey or sickly. Whereas navy is very cool and dark, but doesn’t contrast with the olive quite as much.
Hey Aleana, definitely could be the case. I'm still experimenting but I think I might be the opposite, where I can't wear softer/dusty shades and deeper/more saturated options are usually better. I think the exceptions are very extreme options in cool tones. Navy I've been told works because it's more of a neutral tone, with some navy leaning warmer (though very subtle).
I learned recently I have muted skin. So even though my season is bright spring, wearing saturated colors can be overwhelming on me. I've always naturally gravitated to muted colors anyway, they just have to have enough contrast against my skin. Perhaps you have the same thing?
Possibly! I'm still in my experimenting phase but in my colour analysis I was recommended brighter/darker shades rather than dusty/pastel/light colours. I've been trying different colours on where possible to try see what feels right :) So great to see you've discovered your best colours. I've been so fascinated by this topic lately :)
We can’t get Arket here in the US. So many fashion YTers feature this brand, outside of the US, but I get frustrated seeing so many things that I can’t actually purchase. This is just a snob thing, I believe. The US clothing market is by far the biggest in the world, it’s just as easy to ship here as anywhere, so they’re making some sort of statement by refusing to sell here, so to heck with them. As with other Arket videos, I’m skipping this one. Nothing personal, I love your channel.
I have no idea why they don't ship to the US! It's so strange they would just leave it out. I hope they change it soon or at least open some physical stores :)
