Can't say I'm not happy Ray managed to be pretty good, not underwhelming or super busted Specially as people were already debating if she'd be as bad as her archetype makes her to be or the one to fix the archetype (tho she kinda is the latter)
Her archetype is the only thing really balancing her, but both her S2 and S3 mitigate those issues in different ways. Very good design tbh, she feels very good to play
I pulled her immediately when her banner dropped (took 50 pulls) and could only get her to E1 max, but that final stage in Grinning Valley really shows the power of S3M3 for her - she absolutely annihilates enemies with it. It's absurd.
I’ve seen some people comparing her to a broader version of how Pozy S2 is viewed. From the perspective of advanced play and optimization it’s a contender for best sniper skill, but for the average player the job can be done easier with others. Ray being a bit easier to use and a bit lower in power compared to Pozy S2.
I wouldn't say she compares directly to Schwarz tbh, sure the numbers are huge, but Schwarz still has a unique line range and can reduce 25% def, which is a little more scalable. Ray can probably get distracted by a lot of trash mobs and waste a lot of her skill tbh, esp with the huge range she has, even if she prioritizes enemies in capybara range
In terms of numbers, Ray averages more DPS than Schwarz against medium DEF (around 1200 DEF - 1700 DEF), and Schwarz averages more against both low and high DEF. So far she looks pretty good. Excited to test her myself when she comes to global.
Meh, watching the first clip only made me sure to roll for thypoon. Ray is weird, you can see how they tried to make this crappy archetype viable and all that is left is some mid sniper unit. Sad because I like her design a lot, the tacticool always delivers, her kit did not, first clip only was perfectly manageable by thypoon imo
