Here is something noteworthy about Ch'en that is actually not mentioned in this video! Ch'en actually has THE BEST clue search in Arknights! What? You say there are others with the same base skill? Why yes that is true but a lot of people not aware of is that base skill is not the only thing that decides the clue search efficiency! Elite level and rarity level BOTH also add to clue search efficiency! So because of Ch'en's base skill and the fact that she is a 6 star she has the highest clue search in the game. If you want the highest clue search duo then you actually would want Ch'en + Red or Astesia.
To everyone in the comments section who will inevitably talk about how "ACKTUALLY Ch'en is bad mathematically" Arknights is *NOT* a Spreadsheet and your perception of value should not be shaped exclusively by raw numerical values. Ch'en is an absolute BLAST to use, incredibly fun and frankly both visually pleasing and has wonderful sound design. By all means, if you are looking for something to spend 180 gold certs on, I CANNOT advise you spend them on Ch'en when monsters like Eyja, Surtr, Thorns, etc. exist and might end up in the shop. But seriously, if you shame someone for liking Ch'en and wanting to get them I politely ask you to find another game to play because most of us are here to have fun and enjoy ourselves and were doing so just fine without your excel sheet of optimal DPS and tier lists (although maybe the occasional KyoStinV guide).
But in the end all ops are good (no matter the star rank) so this is one of the things that makes arknights game so unique (I know there are monsters like Thorns and Surtr but not everyone have them). Personally I switched Chen for E2 Jackie but started to use her again (along with Hoshiguma) to make the story mode spicy (I'm in chapter 4 right now where Chen takes all the protagonism xD)
@@sylvandoggo4416 The ''all ops are good'' I have some doubts on that, more like most operators have their uses, because there are some who obviously don't do much, even for their rarity (like swire) , and I wished all ops were good... but that's not the case
Chen is great for S2 being instant use. If you are clearing something blind or something goes wrong 12 minutes in to your anni run. having instant use S2 to drop to get things fixed and stall for long enough to redeploy whatever died is clutch. but if you are following a guide and already know whats what for the map, then the skill is limited used. but is that really playing the game?
Should you get Chen? *Yes* Should you summon for her? *No* Not in my case at least. I finally found my 3rd Top Operator tag and guess who came along? Exactly :D
@@general5119 boy let me tell you something to E1 one operator for us veteran players its pretty easy but to E2 one operator it takes about 2 weeks of grinding just to E2 some of them theres some easy ones but it takes about a week to farm it and imagine me grinding for a month to E2 all of my ops
@@darkpast2177 I think to M3 an operator is the worst. Even M1 almost consume as much resources as E2 promotion (except EXP and LMD), imagine all the way to M3?
@@tejoadi4349 Firstly, it is very rare as you have to get the Top Operator and then the Nuker tag for the guaranteed. Or you could just do no tag and hope. Secondly, I already have her from recruitment. No complaints.
@@user-13y578g Sadly I can't say as I didn't have her until recently. Chances are she probably is even if it is just for her trait but I don't really know.
I spent close to $600 when she 1st came out in Global. Even with so many guards overpowering her or simply have better utility/usage, I still love and use her; if anything I will find a way to use her.
Ch'en gave me a reliable senior aura. I'll just call her Chenpai just to mess with her. Holy donkey... I just got the newest Arknight ads, the animation is gud.
Ch'en is my first 6☆ guard. And my first character that reached Lv.90. She carried me since early stages. (Enemy DEF is not that high until chapter 5) Even now I always add her on my team(As Specialist). Surely that she is not in the meta but it's fun to use her. Lastly, yeah its nice to have but not a must get.
You don't need to pull for Chen if you already have her 🤪 (Ironically she was my second 6* being Shinning the first and Surtr the third, what a good start xD)
This is the best answer. Spending orundums or yellow certs and investing on Chen is a huge mistake, specially if you already have Surtr. Even Silverash with S3M3 can do the nuking way better than her.
Mudrock's 2nd skill is defense recharge, so when she is hit she bonks back, not the other way around. Blemish makes gives her the on attack recharge, not sure if it stacks with Chen passive tho.
blemishine makes defensive-recovery skills charge attacking, ch'en makes ofensive-recovery and defensive-recovery charge per second, so of course they stack, they are different
In my opinion, as someone who has got her since the first joint operation banner, She is worth every orundum, she may not be ''meta'' (another word for OP) by the people who only care about... eficiency? , but she is really good, I have used her a lot since I got her, and I have silverash and mudrock btw, if you recently got archetto or on hit characters like BP , mudrock and blemishine, she wil shine a lot more than people give her credit for. Also, she is a great waifu and has an amazingly well done skin (just wish her ingame model was polished a bit more, it feels strange for some reason) But if you Truly want to save your summons for the limited banners coming up later on, save, Chen is good , BUT she is also attainable in recruitment, if you happen to be lucky and get a top op tag with a Nuker one, you get her 100% guaranteed
Not sure about putting Ch'en into Control Center. With E2 Ch'en is basically best operator for clue searching because rarity and elite level also affects clue search speed, not only skills
@@sylvandoggo4416 how can you even compare slight mood reduction buff to direct resource gain from clue exchange? No need to be a big brain dokutah to decide what is more beneficial. Besides, literally every operator will reduce morale consumption of other units at base while standing in Control Center. Little buff only to ops in Center is not worth it
Me who has lvl 90 m3 skill 3 chen im happy that she is still very usefull to me and i used her a lot but she still in my squad until now tho with bagpipe so that she has a friend
Got her with recruitment 2 weeks ago after I pulled Goldenglow, Seige, and Eyja alter, (lucky me.) Already got her to E2 90 and she is crazy, good synergy with my Blue Poison. Helped to FINALLY muscle my way through chapter 7. 😂
Man I'm so happy right now. I had 150~ gold certs in shop and decided to make a huge recruitment thing yesterday. I got "top operator" tag and got Siege, and now I have almost 180, and definitely will be able to get Ch'en too! Those last 2 days went crazy for me!😃😄
Although it's not my place and not my right As a fellow F2P if you don't already have the OP operators like Saria, silverash, Eyja, or Surtr then I would advise against using them on Chen as she is still obtainable from recruitment whereas you could get a much better operator on sale later on But if you're buying purely because of waifu or you just like her design *Then forget everything I said above*

I'm lucky to drop 3 top operator tag in 2 months playing the game. Got Aak which is ok, not my choice but fun to play with. Got a second Aak, now i'm sad. Got a Ch'en when i could just buy Bibeak and haven't. Now i want to play other games pfffffffffff How is it possible to get luck with the tag just to get pissed right after....
Man I'm split. I don't have chen and have 300 certs to get her. But I also don't have Eyja and I still want to get her from the shop. I have no idea when Eyja will be in the shop.

Personally as someone who has Chen, she's very underwhelming and is not a meta, her S2 which is her bread and butter requires M3 and even then it is not a very strong skill for Helidropping. Surtr (S3) and Silverash (S3M3) can also be used as helidrops and are way better than Chen. To be honest I find Skadi to be even more useful than her. Anyways this is just my opinion, if she's your waifu then go get here.
I now found a great partner for Irene. That sp talent is great. I hope, I could get her someday. Archetto + Meteorite + Irene + Ch'en + Mudrock is the plan 👌🏼
I must say i was suprised when i got Chen that she is so bad? average? The only reason when i use her is pretty much only for her trait because she really is meh, no arts damage, no real stun, even 3rd skill is meh with all operators we have now (even lower rarity ones)
I also got surprised when I got her, because she's so goddamm hyped by everyone I asked about her. If anything I feel more comfortable using a dualstrike like Cutter (which feels less squishy) that actually doesn't make me want to tear my hair out just looking at her E2 requirements.
To be honest I even use Skadi more often than her. I think even Mostima can be more useful sometimes compared to Chen. Surtr and Silverash can do the nuking way better than her, so I rarely use her.
From my personal experience I ended up replacing Chen for Jackie in the main squad but I still use Chen on certain maps (I have lappland, mudrock and surtr combo xD). What I'm trying to say is, while Chen is a really good unit you can potentially end up replacing her easily unlike other 6* ops (that feeling when you start playing with a 6* you can't stop using them somehow)... but keep in mind her S2 is op af... if you happen to have more sp generator ops you should pull for chen then 🤜💥
Ch’en can work wonders with Mudrock the same way Blemishine does, but even Ayerscarpe and Specter, who are 5*s, can be good guards with a lot more utility. Ch’en is nice to have but not at all vital or necessary for strategies, Threm-EX and Waai Fu fill the similar “on deployment” explosion roles. Save your orundum for the upcoming limited banners ! Should You get Chen? Short: Answer No. Long Answer: You may get her in the recruitment so you shouldn't waste your yellow certificates or orundums for rolls. She's not Meta and needs a lot of investment (M3) on her S2 to be at least relevent. Her skills are not that strong, Silverash and Surtr can be used as a more effective nuker than her. Her skills is very slow to charge. I have Chen and base from my experience you shouldn't bother on getting her, even Skadi is more useful for me. But of course if she's your waifu suit yourself.
Should I build Ch'en as of 2023? I'm not sure considering there might be higher priority targets (Lin, Upcoming monster hunter banners, Penance, Rosa, Reed alter, etc) Looking for a friend willing to point out the positives and negatives of building her over other operators ;-;
Well if I give you a suggestion It depends on what operators that you have. For example if you have Penance and Mudrock , Chen 1st Talent will be a great help for your Mudrock 2nd skill / Penance 3rd skill since both are defense recovery skills , and also able to help those Guard/Marksman that Has high sp cost . But overall all I see Chen is a sp supporter if you have operators that synergies well ( For me Mudrock 2nd skill and Penance 3 skill since their skills are very effective for any stages) But if you have stainless you can use his 2nd skill to charge their sp skills BASED ON WHAT OPERATORS THAT YOU HAVE.

@@Mentally_Vile I highly suggest go for m3 s3 first for late game stages , which is mainly nowadays they are a lot of Tough enemies that can becoming a threat for your operators for example : Imperial Striker , Sarkaz Lancer/Lancer Leader , Sarkaz Grudgebearer/Worldcurser , etc . With m3 s3 you use the skill to main shut down Specific enemies That are able deal high dmg on the operators ( like I mentioned earlier . )
