Arknights Story Summarized | Vigilo - The Doctor's Past and Present 

this might be the best lore event since darknights memoir

Doctor before amnesia, "I luv war." Doctor after amnesia, "Here's your ice cream Surtr."

People who loathed him, hated him, called him *"THE BUTCHER"* The people who fears his presence called him the *"GHOST OF BABEL."* But those who loved, supported him, named him *"A HERO"* However he is more known for his real title. *"THE DOCTOR."*

I'm finally done reading everything in Vigilo, and I gotta say, it shattered our initial beliefs of who the Doctor was back from Darknights Memoir, this Doctor is more grounded, like Kal'tsit, and actually prioritizes both safety and authority within Babel. The Doctor now has shown that he still retains some aspect of his pre-amnesia self, even if he is sub-consciously aware of it. The last record in Vigilo really showed us that the Doctor is irreplaceable, and Amiya, planning to save us from Chernobog, is actually a decision not just surrounded for plot convenience.

I'm guessing chapter 9 is just over yonder since new chapters/big events are usually released right after these lore dumps (chapter 7 after W lore, Under Tides after Kal'tsit lore). Looking forward to 42 star operator Closure lmao

I'm starting to think the pre amnesia doctor, and us the doctor are not the same person ....and were a different mind than the original doctor.

Interesting tidbits I found: - Doctor willingly entered the sarcophagus the first time - Only Pre-amnesia doc is shown in cutscenes but not post-amnesia doc - The days that PRTS mentions is about 4.2 trillion years or it's just a joke - Doc wore the same visor and hood back with Priestess, I always thought his body isn't used to the weather of Terra after waking up so he wore one - The story dialog that PRTS tells Closure is kinda similar to the very first dialogue when you start the game.

I wonder if that three options were the author team asking the community about which way they want the story going forward. ...I chose to fight for Rhodes Island, by the way.

.I Never Cherish Hope .I Won't Forget It All .I Know Not If It's Worth It .I've Pondered More Than Just This .I Fear Not Where This Path Leads .This Final Wager and I After seeing the titles of the 6 Mini-Stories in the Vigilo Mini-Event, I feel like there is a hidden message our past self(The Pre-Amnesia Doctor) wants to convey to us(Post-Amnesia Doctor). Who knows maybe it's all according to his plan or not as the pre-amnesia doctor is a person who is insanely smart.

sometimes the person you are now is better then the person you once were. while the doktah benefits from his past skills he is a better person after he lost his memories and when you are part of a group that wants to save people, becoming a gentler person is a lot better then someone who uses people as tools as means to and end. my personal theory is he gave up his memories willingly as he might have figured out that if he stayed as he was they would not reach the goal they wanted, self sacrifice. it would make for a good story plot point imo

My headcanon for pre amnesia doctor is that he’s basically Ayin from lobotomy Corp who is willing to let his employees died for the sake of moving forward Or he’s actually a secret 6 star unit this whole time!!?!

So PRTS has a certain amount of free will, it just pretends not to. As it fulfilled the request Dokutah asked for, just in a way they couldn't see it. My theory is that PRTS is Priestess, not too different from GladOS and Caroline from Portal.

Finally another great summary video Lauli! Really liking that they made us(The Dokutah) actually more interacting or rather per say us rather than the given story. Do we actually wanted to know who we are? It's a great existential setup they built there and probably will be answered on the ending of the next arc, in the future or never answered it at all.

We waited, and you delivered. I'm quite happy with how this video turned out, just as good if not better than the others in my opinion. Then again, so far, not one of your videos has disappointed me. Thanks for this, it helps a lot us plebs that play in EN.

Vigilo fan pv plot : You find yourself standing in a empty void, you feel neither cold nor lonelines but instead a warm and calming bliss as if you were under a tree on a hot and breezy summer afternoon yet nothing but hollow darkness surrounds you. You look around and a shimmer of light appears at the corner of your eye, you look up and squint your eyes to see a stone tablet and on it is engraved the following : "priestess is" and at that moment a shiver runs down your spine as you realize that the answer is in your reach. And as you ponder at the tablet a staircase step rises and as you lift your foot to scale the next step it rises to give you good footing, with faith that it will stop you from falling by rising just before you put your feet down you walk forward towards the tablet that is floating high in the sky illuminated by a unknown source of light since everywhere you look there is nothing but darkness. As you scale the steps and reach ever closer to the answer, slowing silhouettes of Amiya, kaltsit, beagle and other characters that were mentioned in the story appear, and with it voices of those people surround you, echoing one by one, you recognize the voices and who they belong to yet you can't figure out what their saying. And as you pass the last pair of silhouettes of the voices fade away and you find yourself in front of the tablet and you realize that the ascending steps no longer catch your feet as you step forward, so close to the tablet that it is just out of your arms reach, you let out a sigh of slight dissapointment and look back to find that you cannot see where the staircase starts leaving you questioning how far have you gone. While you stare at the fading end of the staircase that you've scaled you hear a sound echoing all around you, a sound that is soothing and calming yet it sounds so unreal and it's as if whatever made that sound doesn't belong in this world, you turn around and see that the tablet is opening, with it a bright flash of light appears, a light so bright it's as if your standing face to face with the sun, as the glare reaches your eyes you cannot help but lift your hand to cover your eyes as you step back and turn around to avoid the light you no longer feel the steps behind you there and you find yourself falling as you turn back to look at the tablet. As the tablet fully opens and displays the answer you've been searching for the moment you discovered the existence of priestess you've already fell a distance far enough that what ever was written inside the tablet seemed like scribbles and dots of black ink. And at they moment you realized that you were so close to the answer, everything you've worked for, you've fought for, all those endless nights working your ass off the grind itself, fades away to become nothingness You give in. You realize now that you can no longer reach for it because of the length that has been placed between you and priestess, tears stream down your face as you give in to the hopelesness and drown in the regret in your head. You wake up and soon realize it was a dream, half awake and still recovering from the mental strain, you suit up and head for the balcony for some fresh cold morning air to calm down, as you open the door and look up and see a silhouette of a figure engulfed in the glare and shine of the morning sunrise at the far end of the balcony similar to priestess, without hesitation you immediately run as fast as you could towards her while tears stream down your cheeks you know now that youve got nothing left to loose, and as you run like you've never been so determined before the silhouette turns her head around just enough that your able to see her face. And as you say to yourself "that must be her" you keep on running, and somewhere along the way you blink your eyes , and the second you open your eyes She disappeared, you stop running you look around and see that you've already reached the edge of the balcony, you look around to find not a single trace left behind the mysterious beauty, eventually you give up searching. As you kneel down while letting out a sigh of dissapointment, the dried up remnants of where your tears flowed through start to evaporate, you feel two arms slide on to you, one starts from the top of your left shoulder and the other from under your right arm eventually both meet in the middle on your chest, you instantly recognize that this is a woman's touch, then you feel as if someone is leaning on your back, so close that you can feel whoever is leaning on you breathe. She whispers in a calming and gentle voice that into your ear softly "please... Wait for me okay" then she leans her head against yours, you feel the same warmth you had in your dream, her voice so gentle and peaceful you realize that this isn't one of your fellow operators, you now know who she truly is and for that same exact reason you dare not turn around, knowing the answer is right within your reach but the moment you attempt to reach for it, it goes away. As you grab her hand you reply with a broken and soar voice saying "I will, I promise" with lead seal already gnawing away at what little sanity you have left you can no longer bear the weight and start to cry, you can feel her tears stream down your shoulder as well. _camera pans out revealing her and continues to pan out till the entire landship is in view and the screen fades to black as credits roll
