As a DA player, I'm not mad that Azrael decided to retreat when Belakor showed up. Had he not, Azrael would have remained. I see this as Azrael reading the situation, and realizing that Belakor wasn't after him or the Gate. With Vashtorr and his forces distracted, he decided to GTFO while he still could, then come back and steam roll whoever was left.

Why can’t we just have a full blown Dark Mechanicus army? Vashtorr would be perfect at the head of one. I have Obliterators, Venomcrawlers, Negavolt Cultists, two Defilers, a Heldrake, Maulerfiend, a Lord Discordant, and a number of kitbashed Skitarii and Combat Servitors. I’m so ready!

Honestly hope Vashtorr gets his own faction with all these demon designs from the book like Fabius Bile has his creations

Tonite On Ridiculous Gear: DK tries waking up the Lion with all of this anime knowledge, Bricky tries to stop DK by becoming sick once more which in turn summons a great unclean one which bursts out from his girthy forehead and Shy challenges Vashtorr to a rock off which the daemon code prevents him from declining.

Belakor showing up to trip Vashtorr at the finish line is kind perfect. Chaos’s greatest enemy isn’t Big E or any of the primarchs, it’s Chaos. It always has been and always will be.

Honestly I am not surprised that belakor would come fuck everything up. My impression when we were first introduced to vashtorr was that he was similar to belakor, with both aspiring to be larger chaos gods, so it would make sense to have them as rivals. It also goes to show that chaos' biggest enemy is chaos and it is rarely ever fully united. Also feel like Bricky thought this book was mid because a majority of the book consists of ground and void battles. Probably would've liked it more if he knew more about the DA and the crazy shit they store in the rock (i.e. enslaved men of iron and unification era anti pysker weapons)

Its rather fitting since we had the excerpt about Vashtorr lamenting is mortal senses of perceiving time moment to moment, unable to predict the future essentially, and just while his plans are unfolding its litterally a demon prince that shows up in the middle of everything just to inconvenience him from taking out a loyalist target. Its things like Belakor that drive Vashtorr to be come clairvoyant... What if they both become new chaos gods? I mean, Whether Vashtorr wants it or not, Belakor is essentially forcing him in to "the great game" between the two of them either way.

Be'lakor is the "Abaddon" of the demons, and Abaddon is the "Be'lakor" of Chaos Marines... At least in this specific novel they are... allies and mirror images... Both still currently serve and both have their very own loyal armies and minions... They are both viewing their perceived "servitude" to the 4 powers as a mere stepping stone in their own personal journey. Neither of them are loyal to the pantheon... they got goals...

It's called the Gorgons Aegis because it was created by Ferrus Manus and gifted to the Lion to protect his legions capital.

The problem isn't that GW chases trends, it's that the trends they chase they are incapable of exploiting in any way that people cares about. If warhammer plus just acted like a central hub for Warhammer animators than it would likely be great. But GW either picks people who don't do shit, don't let the people do the shit they want to do, or just don't pick anyone worth while.

As a Dark Angels fan I really hope that when they do Lion and DA episodes Bricky reads the Lion's "Lord of the First" and "trials of Azrael" cause while saying "they're like the Spanish inquisition" isn't inaccurate it's just kind of sucks. That aspect is the aspect of the DA I've seen other DA fans the least comfortable with. They're so much more than that and both "Lord of the First" and "trials of Azrael" show that perfectly in my opinion. Asmodai should not be the face of the Chapter he is essentially a rabbid dog that (were he not so useful) Azrael would have put down long ago. spoiler for the heresy books: I hope that Asmodai says two words to the Lion and immedietly gets the Nemiel treatment

None dare move because the forces of Chaos could sense this small creature for what it truly was and dared not challenge it. And the Astartes would never dream of messing with the little guys in f Caliban. The three it addressed looked down at the piece of paper they each were given. “Let’s take this outside, Vashtor” Belakor said. Vashtor nodded and the two left. Their messages being thrown away as the turned and left. A chaos Astarte picked it up. “What is it?” Asked on of the Fallen. The message was read aloud. “WOULD YOU KEEP IT DOWN, I’M TRYING TO SLEEP?!” The traitor stated. “Signed the Lion.” Everyone present was sent into a state of shock. “Wait there’s more” he said. “P.S. if you don’t keep it down I’m coming out to have words with you myself.” At that Cypher and Luther decided to take their leave.

From what I've heard, Azrael has retreated before when he was dueling with Kharn the Betrayer. There wasn't any stigma to his retreat then, as far as I'm aware.

I honestly thought something like the Belakor thing was actually overdue. Vashtor has been running around with the open intention of overthrowing them and the other factions have been cool with it. Sure the other Gods need Vashtor as their arms dealer but I’ve been waiting for him to get some kind of pushback from them. Belakor showing up to fuck with him sure fits the bill.

The Dark Angels are the best tactical Astartes and have the best tech. Then retreating closer to the chamber and fortifying is very much with their lore. Unless it was Fallen they were fighting. As far as the 2 Deamon Princes they are both fighting for God hood so it makes complete sense.

I mean did they fall back as in trying to leave the rock or did they fall back as in to a different position in the Rock because those can be two very different things Because if they were trying to fall back and terms of retreating from The Rock then yeah maybe not something the Dark Angels would do but if it was like say falling back to a probably better defensible position to prevent them from getting to the fault then that I would think can be excused easily

As a deathwatch player it's really upsetting me that we're just being used as alpha legion proxies recently. Like the deathwatch are all laden veterans, there's no fucking way so many of those assholes can just get away with it
