Yea the speed is based on the AoA Indexer feedback. I also fly a steeper approach than what is recommended by the glideslope, which IMHO is too far right and too shallow of an angle for a carrier approach.

The shallow glide slope has been mentioned before in the Jets DLC feedback thread at BI forum. I grew up playing Flight of the Intruder, Fleet Defender, US Navy Fighters, Jane's F/A-18E Hornet etc. So I am fairly familiar with carrier landings in general. You kinda built a mental picture of how the approach should look like after a while.

MK84 That's the idea. But this game is going to mess up people's mental pictures if they really care to follow it.

It's under Options - Game - Layout. You can rearrange the GUI to your liking.

Yup I use the TM HOTAS Warthog.

Think of the glideslope like a water slide, ie the glideslope itself is the slide and the carrier as the pool. You get on it and it guides you safely onto the deck. The two vertical and horizontal bars that appears in the middle of the HUD at 2:05 are the ILS needles, under normal circumstances you align them in the middle of your HUD so they form a cross, which tells you that you're aligned with the deck centerline and on the correct glideslope. However ArmA 3's ILS code is meant for land-based airfields which typically have a very shallow 3 degrees glideslope. Carriers usually have a steeper (6-8 degrees if I recall correctly) glideslope to account for the boat pitching up and down with the sea. So for ArmA, you use as a guide until you can see the deck visually and adjust. At 4:05 is pretty much how the ILS needles need to be aligned for ArmA, off to the right and down slightly.

If you're on KB+M, keep an eye on the thrust percentage numbers, might be a good idea to rearrange the layout so that you can easily glance at it. Also, don't forget airbrakes, which is X on the new keybind.

Yeah AOA mean angle of attack, so yes and no it means you need to lower or raise your nose to be on course

All the DLC Jets are single-seaters.

It would be too boring for the second player, that's why they didn't add a second seater. You sometimes get bored as a gunner for attack helicopter, imagine this. The only plane I'd ' see with more seats is like an AC-130(which we already have, kinda'). And maps aren't that big to support such massive air operations.

Sum Won there are some mod jets that have two seats. Alternatively you can play online with the two of you in different jets acting as wingmen.

Check the keybinds.

The F/A-181 uses HMDs

In real life or DCS yes. But not in ArmA 3. If you do that in ArmA 3 the game will think you want to go around/bolter, so it will raise the tailhook and reset the wires. You'll end up sliding off the deck.
