mnnrlfs "Proper deployment and use of cooking spray is key in accomplishing the mission of making waffles. Remember to use short, even bursts for maximum effectiveness."
+TheRogueWolf A cooking team will consist of a Team Leader, a Cook, and an Ingredients Carrier. The Team Leader's job is to determine a suitable meal to be cooked. The Cook's job is to chop the ingredients, place them on the fire, and make sure it tastes good in the end. The Ingredient Carrier's job is to look for threats while moving, and supply the Cook with ingredients if necessary.
“We will cut our enemies down in droves. Our fires will be the substance of their nightmares. We will protect our brothers. The fields of the dead shall serve as evidence of our passing.” - machine gunners creed
+Errorcutive please , this. i play wasteland alone, and principles such as tactical patience, discretion and disengagement I learned the hard way. do something to the recon/scouts/pathfinders/hunter killers out there!
In my group we use 3 modes of fire, one is 4-6 Round Burst, with 4-6 seconds between bursts. The next is the same 4-6 rounds, but with 2-3 seconds between. The last is "Side Check" or more commonly in engagement, a "Vibe-check" basically, shoot until you have to reload, barrel temp, ammo count, or ear pro be damned. (We use mods like ace) Its for when the shit has hit the fan and you need to suppress them bitches right quick
Are there any videos you can recommend that you or anyone you can think of operates as a machine gun crew? I'd like to watch some of this type of gameplay. Spurred on by this video of course. I was also surprised not to see some in the comments so I thought I'd as.
***** Very true, but its broken in every PvP mode I had played which vary from KOTH to wasteland and even some custom team vs team missions. When you can enter a house and clear it like nothing with a medium machine gun, it not being rested or mounted and penetrate up to three walls in a firefight with a fast firing accurate weapon without it bouncing like a heavy weapon would if it wasn't bipoded down or resting a position it needs to be looked at imo.
***** I mean I have compared the recoil to the MK14 from a kneeling position and the 14 jumps higher with less control then the navid, its kinda ridiculous.
Cheetoes Frank This is actually how machineguns are supposed to work in A3 to stay realistic. The inaccuracy and uncontrollability of squad automatic weapons has always been an artificial gameplay balancing tweak by less realistic games. You're playing a game mode that is better suited for battlefield or call of duty gameplay.
Erwin Rommel Squad Automatic weapons are accurate, but they are not as controllable as the Navid 9.3 is. Closest in terms of control one could get is say a M249 Saw but thats 5.56 where the navid is a 9.3 and as such would definitely have less control then the saw. If they wanted more realistic they took a step back with the navid.
Very good tutorial video again Dslyecxi, all these are amazing and should be used by anybody new to the series. It`s explained in a way that`s easy to get and apply the things discussed in your own gameplay. On the battlefield, every bit of knowledge helps as far as I`m concerned.
The recoil during your bursts with the .338 seemed pretty non-consequential compared to the kick I normally get. Anything you're doing (other than the bipod) to reduce recoil?
Richard Bladykas Typically the guns have a pattern of recoil, e.g. up and slightly right. With the Katiba and MXs I got used to compensating for this pattern and am able to stay on target pretty effectively using this technique even at full auto (ofc I use it only in very close range scenarios). Dsl may be using the same technique with the MGs.
+Black B Stance plays a big part on how you can control the weapon. You can also control the recoil if your skilled enough by dragging you mouse in the opposite direction the weapon is going.
Can you do a video please on how to optimize arma for amd or explain why amd is so shit with arma because you are so close to Bohemia interactive, i have not found any topics where they even acknowledged why amd cpu is so shit with arma , If it does not let you reply to my comment idk why just msg me pls
What if the team leader also brought an LMG and placed it on the ground by the gunner? Then the ammo guy could make sure that there's always a loaded weapon ready for the gunner, and no one would be too much slower than the others.
Lets not forget the employment of static weapons by machine-gun teams. I can remember a couple Co-op/PVP missions I played from ArmA 2 where the MG teams carried the ACE Tripod for the M240.... and I can remember one mission where the "MG" teams carried a tripod, M2/Mk19, and ammo.
+Dslyecxi, just checking if you're aware that this video is available only in 1080p. I believe your previous guides were all available in at least 1440 if not 4k? The heavy RU-vid compression is extremely visible in this one.
or if you play Exile DayZ, just use your machine gun with a long range scope, practice trigger discipline and you have a 1km range sniper rifle with 150 rounds in a magazine. and as a bonus you arent hindered by weight
Appreciate it Dslyecxi! Running a weapons team in a small-unit tactics team for ROTC. A few quirks for game content but the core info is solid and engaging, might show this to our freshmen. Any idea if the key bindings and game-based comments will translate to VBS?
I am heavy gunner in army. Once I lead a 4 men team because my team leader was down. We communicated with sniper team who scanned the enemy movement towards our location with 2 machine gunners and 2 rifle man we killed all enemies and I also advised sniper team to change their position towards enemy, soo if we die send them to hell.
does suppression work on AI? is there a point in suppressing the AI, although i don't have visual, but know the general direction they're pushing from? thanks
Is Arma 3 AI really good enough to be supressed by massive gun fire? Are these tracers seen in the video from a mod? I think they are amazing for practicing.
So i recently got ARMA 3 and ive been wondering since ive gotten it ive had 20-35 fps and wondering if this game more CPU heavy or card heavy. I have a GeForce GT 730 and a AMD quad core if someone could help me that would be great. Thanks :)
The only issue I find with machine gun teams is the fact that if even one of the units die, it becomes essentially combat ineffective. The machine gunner dead, well, that would incapacitate the team for obvious reasons. The ammo-bearer, they would not be able to carry all of the ammo due to their inventories being full. If the team leader goes down, the team loses combat effectiveness, making it vulnerable and just less effective in general.
+Ryan D ideally, it's best to keep everyone up and running, of course, but I suppose each member on the team knows the basics of his colleagues functions.
"CSW" applies more specifically to static, deployed weapons such as GMGs, HMGs, or the deployed missile systems. This video deals with MMG teams which are often handled differently.
Yes; it's really splitting hairs when it comes down to it. Plus, you can do whatever works best gameplay-wise for your group or community. It's up to you which you prefer.
+Yan Yat Cheng It's really good if you have buddies stuck out of the efficient range of RCO's. Since they're quite accurate, the MG's set up like that are godsent.
SMOKEMIST Indeed, bipods and dynamic weapon resting got added to the core game mechanics in conjunction with the release of the Marksman DLC (not required).
