I personally think we will see in reforge since its building tech platform for them, they need community to test certain things, ofc they have in house devs on testing but it would take much longer to test everything by themself, not to mention performance is different from person to person, so community is great choice for testing things out, actually reforged is in Early access so its definitely will have things to come, ofc maybe not everything but most important things, since if they give everything on reforged i dont see what's the point buying a4, so i guess some features and things will be added to a4 witch not necessarily needs lots of testing

By the work they done with Dayz, im afraid these effects will never be implemented

We're having a lot of ideas for everything projectile related, fingers crossed we can realize them. But I'm optimistic :)

Fully fleshed out game with visual effects. Reforger is a engine tech demo, that's why the tools are available for the users, you make your own effects.

I feel like that after almost ten years they could have not released an early access like that and waited more. Because it is, for me, a bit lackluster even though I know things will come later.

@@xenio8736 They are not a AAA company and Arma was never really popular enough for them to get a good budget. Most smaller devs do early access cause they don't have enough people to just crank out a better game. 10 years sure but with a small team. Graphically Reforger looks good in terms of lighting and animations. It also appears to play as it should from the short amount of footage I've seen. But it's obviously missing details like the burnt/destroyed look for destroyed vehicles for example. But it's in alpha just like Arma 3 when it first came out. When Arma 3 first came out people made the same comments that it "should've been more" after a long dev cycle. But they were referring to gameplay mostly over graphics back.

@@xenio8736 What I mean is they are not like Rockstar, Activision, or EA. They have to release it in an early state so that people can back it until it's complete. Because they don't have the budget to keep working on the game so they need money coming in to complete it. EA releases games in an early state cause they can get away with it. They have the money to complete a game before release but they don't care to do that. That's the difference

@@pilotmanpaul The thing is, as stated above, Bohemia is a known quantity, they are not EA or Ubisoft who will release an unfinished mess. Their track record and game catalog speaks for itself. They make great games and they fix, add to and support them for years after release. I would have sent them $100 for Reforger if they had asked. Arma 4 will be epoch changing just like A2 and A3 were, it's worth the investment

watth ?? bro arma 3 is 9999999999 better. I just wrote an entire book in the comments of another video to say how reforger is unworthy, arma 3 is a UFO and still very beautiful today, reforger is simply ugly it looks like a mix between fortnite and pubg, and roblox animations

@@jagildown No, no it's not. Walk into any building and you will immediately see the difference between Reforger and DayZ/Arma and every other game that uses RV to handle terrain. DayZ uses Enfusion for the renderer and player controller but NOT for terrain. They wanted to launch DayZ on the full Enfusion engine but they ran out of time. Reforger is the first game to fully utilize the FIRST ITERATION of the full Enfusion engine. This is just the beginning, just a glimpse into the future and it's exciting.

Reforged and arma 4 is using infusion engine witch basically arma 4 engine, since reforged will not going to be final product like arma 4, reforged is more like testing ground with help of community of new engine, future engine improvements, new features and other things, witch afterwards tested in reforged will be implemented in arma 4, so title is correct since arma 4 will be full product while reforged is not full product and you will not see certain features of arma 4 in reforged.

It's using the Arma 4 engine. Like the title said.

The basic models and animations look terrible to me, much worse than Arma III. They look like cartoon characters, and movement is janky.

There would be almost no differences, they both use the exact same template to make the game For argument's sake here are the differences (none at all): ArmA 3 had CSAT (OPfor), NATO (BlueFor) & AAF (IndFor) on alpha release Reforger has USSR (OpFor), USA (BlueFor) & FIA (IndFor) on alpha release ArmA 3 had one map on alpha release (Stratis) Reforger has two maps on alpha release but initially had only one (Everon, +Arland added later) ArmA 3 had no flight model/no air vehicles, all vehicles and arsenal were basic on alpha (still is that way to this day without DLCs and mods) Reforger has no flight model/no air vehicles, all vehicles and arsenal are basic on alpha ArmA 3 vanilla still has very basic destruction physics and VFX 10 years after release (mods are excluded since Enfusion is still being developed and enhanced) Reforger vanilla has very basic destruction physics and VFX on alpha release (but is already comparable to ArmA 3 and is still being developed and enhanced) ArmA 3 was slow to be improved by mods due to lack of mod support on alpha release (the mods for ArmA 3 will be incompatible with ArmA 4 and Enfusion) Reforger has excellent mod support on alpha release (mods for Reforger will be completely compatible with ArmA 4 as a simple drag n drop action, figuratively speaking) ArmA 3 ran like dogshit on any system on alpha release (took them years to optimize it properly) Reforger gives me 60FPS on alpha release People can say what they want but looking at it objectively; you can see that even as a testbed for ArmA 4, Reforger is superior to ArmA 3 in everything except game maturity (time for content to be made and mods to be released) The major game changer is Bohemia walking away from the old engine onto a more customizable, user-friendly, feature-rich, visually-stunning game engine that replaces the old shitty and very inefficient Status Quo script language for actual C-Sharp/C++ language which is like replacing a train with a fighter jet

@@Deniskoslov thats right from your point of view - maybe. But: it's part of bohemia's funding for arma 4 - funding the development of the infusion engine, so to speak. No one has to buy it, no one is forced. But everyone here will probably only be able to play the super great mods and QoL improvements (we all love) in arma 4 later, because the mod developers spend so much money on a sandbox today. Beside: Many of us love the feeling to get in it - from scratch.

tarkov engine/movement/control sucks dick in all aspects but variety and detail, I wouldn't want anything to do with it, i'd much rather see tarkov made on this engine or some branch of the quake engine

Tarkov struggles having a couple of people and ai in a match but they are working in a game like that which is called arena, it was going to be a DLC but now it’s a separate game

Though I also wish that; Tarkov has ruined pretty much all military related FPS games for me, all the animations on stuff looks so janky and low quality like unity asset store level stuff compared to Tarkov, it's too good. Same with all the movement from FPS games.

They did, cars don't go into outer space or spontaneusly combust from a 40 mph impact anymore.

Amazing how they didn't compare global lighting! As just one small example. Another would be persistence of servers. Etc., etc., etc. It's so frustrating trying to engage with gamers who only want to be outraged at the onset. So fucking frustrating, especially when BI is one of a small handful of developers making custom engines to push their genre forward.

Good luck conveying this to the masses. This is what gamers don't understand. This is just the very beginning of a new engine that will unlock many possibilities that were never feasible before. I get so frustrated reading negative comments from people who cannot differentiate between a game engine and a game created with an off the shelf engine. The game engine is the most exciting aspect of this.

you should know Bohemia engines specialize in large scale environments.

A hráls to vůbec? Většina věcí tam je placeholder a co se týče grafiky není to sice žádný nejnovější Battlefield, ale je to tak na úrovni Watch Dogs Legion / Cyberpunk 2077. Engine umí v podstatě vše co by moderní engine měl umět včetně využití všech jader a vláken CPU (už žádný engine na jednom threadu a AI na druhém lol) a k tomu zachovalo možnost obrovských map při dost slušné optimalizaci (na to že je to EA) - můžeš být odzoomovaný a vidět celou mapu a pak zazoomovat až na mravence na ulici bez jediného FPS dropu. Co přesně je podle tebe tak strašně outdated? Mě už tam chybí jen ten obsah a DLSS + Ray tracing.

There's nothing "technical" about your statement so you should avoid using terms like "technically". The Enfusion Engine is leaps and bounds beyond RV in terms of mechanics and possibilities. Things like visual effects of shooting into water are... well, like small ripples in a pond. They are just visual effects and have little to do with the capabilities of the engine itself.

And the tech is crap, 8 years of work and all they have is a step backwards

Xbox Series X says it runs at 30fps BUT it actually runs between 10-15fps, with alot of screen tearing. Which is worrying since all the Series X consoles are exactly the same, and it says they had optimised the game for the console....

Its not final release, its more of early access for arma4, so you will see a lot of improvements over time, if watched stream yesterday and it does look amazing for me at night, in rain and in general, dont expect to be battlefield level.

@@Krahamus so they cant sell the game already if its unfinished. Dayz for example, still carries most of the bugs since the first release. My advice: wait for the official release, Bohemian its not a reliable developer

I disagree tbh, the graphics and environmental details are amazing. I’m just hoping they don’t get downgraded

The lighting blows ArmA 3 away in various situations, especially inside buildings, night time light and shadows, and distant shadows at long range in forests etc. The physics are a lot better overall also, then there's stuff like actual moving water streams and wet surfaces now from rain etc which never existed in any ArmA. ArmA 3 is better looking then it's original state back in 2013 also from updates.

Graphic is fine since it's all about texture and pixel, the thing that make them beautiful is POST PROCESSING. And those can be implement later, or never since arma is never well known for post processing graphic but more on a raw texture side.

Once mods get going it'll get back down to 40, don't worry

Those are just visual effects, pretty inconsequential in the long term.
