I tried it, very similar to Prada l'Homme Intense. I like it but not loved it. On the same vibes I prefere much more Gentleman Givenchy Edp Boisee. But all the Gentleman's line is better to my nose. Anyway Code is still Code and it always will be: a unique fragrance, seductive and quite classy.
Oh and it lasts freaking forever too. I can still faintly smell it on my arm after a shower if I don't scrub. You can wake up the next day smelling it.
Good God I wish every Iris fragrance was like this. It's so much better than the Givenchy and Dior type of softer, lipsticky floral and effeminate iris. This is a strong, clean, masculine, classy iris and my only big sorrow is that it costs more than twice as much than the EDT and price was partly why I was able to use so much of the EDT, though in fairness Code EDT (the former version) requires so damn much (it actually is a 14 sprays minimum, no joke it doesn't project well or last longer than like 2 hours on skin and maybe 5 on clothes) so you're going to be using it up faster anyway. I'd say as far as Iris goes, MIB during the night and Code Parfum during the day and at work is perfect. It's so professional and straightlaced yet it projects a similar vibe as MIB to me in a way, like that same guy putting on his day-face before being personable at home. It's perfect for a guy in his 30s and 40s I think, it's one of the most versatile frangrances I have otherwise.
Armani Code EDT was one of my first signature scents after college. Kind of got me into frags. Hundreds of bottles later, I had to get this one when it was released because I find all the Absolu, Profumo versions of code way to sweet for me, This is perfect. Fantastic if you liked the EDT, not overpowering and office friendly.......
Yeah this is really office friendly in fact I think this may be the perfect business scent, it absolutely does smell like preparing for a meeting in a hotel room mirror to me, it's hard to explain. It feels like such a straight postured scent, it's not a sweet lipsticky vibe like say Givenchy Gentleman Intense that I find way too feminine and also too sweet, I'm not sure I'd even call Code Parfum sweet. Absolu wasn't sweet to me either though, and while I loved it I find Absolu too much like The One Intense, it just smells way too much like a rare occasions cologne such as weddings, I cannot wear it to work imo and I find it way too dressed up and formal for a date night fragrance unless you're really mature and the restaurant is really nice and formal. Profumo is the perfect date night or netflix and chill tier fragrance, but it is so super sweet it borders on feminine and while I loved it it just didn't have as much utility for me, was way too cozy and intimate imo to be appropriate for work and too fun and casual for a serious occasion. Parfum by contrast I could find pulling it off in virtually any situation, work, weddings, business meetings, having a latte with a good friend, first date, wedding anniversary, whatever it is, I think Parfum can work and be pulled off by anybody over 25. I don't think I can recommend it to college students however. It's not quite at Terre d'Hermes Vetiver Intense level of maturity, but it's definitely a more mature, classy, and refined kind of a scent.
What i think when i smelled this is that it is similar to prada luna rossa og due to the prominent lavender but stronger and has more depth. Which is really nice really smells manly. When worn in the night or in the office, i think the ladies will love this manly scent 👌
One of your review for the adults this is!😊 And the Armani Code edP is spot on! Projection on drydown over two days is a complishment indeed in today's juices! Such an unic combination with wiffs of many frags, coming and going on your skin! My daily fragrance today in foregoing usage!
For me it's like the EDP meets JPG Le male Le Parfum (I own both) tested the parfum twice, smells OK but it's way to light (skin scent) for the price. I got a 200ml EDP bottle around 2 months ago for €90 layer that with JPG Le male Le Parfum or RÉSERVE PRIVÉE to add the iris and you will project and smell great. Good review as always!
I was buying armani code profumo from the discounter for 68 euros but just today it arrived and instead of profumo I got this particular code. I have a bitter sweet feeling about this since I got 150 ml for half a price for which is usually sold on other discounters. Despite the fact that it is not what I wanted I will still keep it in my collection since the dry down reminds me of "jazz club" but a little bit more clean and classy. Overall it is a good buy if you want to smell pleasant, gentlemen'ish, playfull and inoffensive. 9/10 for me.
this Fragrance grabbed my attention.i will probably buy it for the fall.everything from armani is very good.thank you Curly , i learned everything i need to know about this Fragrance. as always very comprehensive!
Wasn't a huge fan of it when I initially sprayed it on a tester and wrote it off... but id accidentally got some on my hand, a bit later after it dried a bit I loved the smell. This and the Invictus Victorty are my two favorite fragrances right now. Was also surprised how much I like the Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Extreme (packaging was obnoxious) all 3 have similar characteristic to me but a note or two that clearly seperate them. All probably work good together.
The OG was one of my ladykiller fragrance as teenager and in my younger twenties, Armani always knows the code to seduce and desire. Still, when ever I wear it, it turns heads just like the top fragrances of today. Though it doesn't perform that great anymore but with usually 7-8 hours you're good in all situations..
Don't tell me, same story here. I've been using it for 12 years. Best seductive fragrance E V E R. Speaking of the og before reformulation. Today is still one of a kind but it doesn't last, it doesn't project, anyway if ladies comes close enough it still does its magic. Just like an old sports legend: he is not in his prime anymore but he still got some unique moves. Long live to the king.
@@fishfan2 They are different, both good in my opinion. As i said the givenchy's gentleman line - to me - it's better than the new code, so, i would go for Jpg. But it's my opinion, if you are thinking of buying one you should try both for a day or two on your skin (code smells much better on skin than on paper, by the way) and then decide it.
This is going to be my next purchase Michella. A frag friend of mine bought it recently, and I absolutely love it. Could've maybe done with a little more backbone (manliness! 😆), but is soooooo smooth, so well blended. On holiday in the Algarve, my scent of the day is Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree 🔥😃.
I just picked it up a few nights ago.... I'm happy with it.. You have to love that magnetic cap... Better than the old weird plastic tops from the old code bottles 👍😎
@@CurlyFragrance intresting because I absoloutly hated it at first, and now I love it. I wear it when Im sure I will be indoors and when Im outdoors I lean towards Prada lhomme intense because it just smells superior to any other perfume in this time of the year
Yeah for me as a collector as long as the bottle and cap are great the fragrance can smell like shit. Seriously who cares about a magnetic cap, its whats in the bottle that counts.
The OG was a real panty-droppers back in the day. Damn, I wore it for 12 years... I like this new one, it's good and nice but I think there are better options with those vibes. If you are looking for iris and powdery, the Givenchy's Gentleman line is far better. I love the new bottle, good job wtih the magnetic cap. Anyway, after all these years the code dna is still relevant and unique. Antoine Lie did a masterpiece.
The iris in these two is completely different though. Me personally, I don't like Gentleman/flankers or Dior Homme/flankers because they smell way too soft and feminine to me, and I don't necessarily have a problem with sweet, warm, inviting, or soft, but I guess I just do with the combinationof powdery and florals. Which is why I like Code Parfum so much, it doesn't smell powdery to me at all. Imagine Code EDP but with iris and leathery I guess is how I smell it, but it's overall a very clean and straightlaced thing. Basically I'm feeling it as a completely different iris vibe between netflixnchill or date night with Gentleman Intense or Gentleman Privee, or Dior Homme Intense, as compared to Code Parfum's straightened spine kind of business and professional thing. Probably could work in a date at a really nice restaurant though.
@@aaron4387 no, the original is the EDT. They've restyled the packaging but is still him, though it is not the old formulation. Is it worthy? Well... I guess no. I think the last one, the parfum is better.
I love this stuff. Perfect for the fall. Ive went through 3 bottles of this in 2 years and my 4th bottle is on the way. Girls love this stuff. I dont care about other peoples thoughts, as I wear fragrances because I like them but Ive had so many women tell me I smell good while wearing this. One woman walked past me at the mall and said wow thats what a man should smell like. Oddly I ended up going out with her friend a few times but not her lol. Her friend found me online and messaged me and came to my house the next night and a few more times. I stopped seeing her because she got on my nerves. But its funny because that girl that gave me the nice compliment i never talked to again but Ive seen her a few times around town. I seen her at wal mart a few days ago and she grabbed the hand of the man she was with and kissed him and then smiled at me lol. Women are nuts.
I’ve been wanting to pick this up. I use to wear the original when I was 14 along with Armani diamonds. Crazy that I still enjoy that dna 14 years later lol
Can you review my favorite blue fragrance Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essenziele Blu? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Keep up the great content Curly :)
Hi Michaela, I was wearing Code ABSOLU EDP and PDM OAJAN for cooler weather until I found ALTAMIR, that's your fault. I'll have to try this new one, Sent Split here I come. Thanks again for all you do.
My go too, and have had compliments even..But the girl at the perfume store tried to convert me to another said it was an “old man scent” but I disagreed lol. I like that it’s not fruity. Good review though
I went to the store a few days ago to smell it. Sometimes the DNA changes when companies produce EDT, EDP and Parfume... But not with this one. The new Parfume smlls the same as my EDP smells. For the latter reason I didn't buy the new parfume. But it is one of my favourite smells out there, strong base with a bit of sweetness.
Hello Michella, nice video! Is this fragrance Armani Code Parfum more for office, going out or for a date? And are you gonna do a Haul video again someday?
Can you review burberry hero edp? I went into the fragrance store today and tomorrow im either getting le male, armani code parfum or burberry hero, although i know you wouldnt be able to make a video in time, i think armani code parfum is going to be the one i get because you know what smells good, the last time i got rasasi hawas because of you and boy was it amazing! Keep up the great videos!
Before I watch... Yes it is very good :) Got my bottle right after release with 20% off at Douglas. It is very well timed release as weather now is perfect for Code Parfum.
Discount for UK and DE? 😄Just back from vacation and I ordered it already though so never mind 🙃 🙈Top review 😉🥰 Maybe you can review the new Calvin Klein Defy sometime, curious about your opinion 😁
it will probably be a great scent on anyone but me - everything smells WAY more spicy or even peppery on my skin. You can really feel the original EDT DNA which is in my opinion much better than all those Absolutes and Profumos
This is the first time I've ever heard somebody mention fragrances smelling peppery on their skin. I typically don't have that, but mont Blanc explorer smells awesome in the air and on clothing, but man, when I spray it on my skin it turns into this crazy pepper smell, so I understand what you're saying.
@@sam08903 Don't get the pepper thing but ironically Oud for Greatness is actually much worse for me than Oud for Glory mainly because the Initio OfG leaves a really weird and bad animalic, musky smell on my skin and absorbs the nicer components, whereas Lattafa's OfG smells the same on my skin as on my clothes. Crazy how much personal chemistry matters.
Ive tried samples and i just cannot like it. The opening is so dense and the iris just suffocates the nuance. After it dries down it does get quite a bit nicer. At first i thought it was horrendous and disgusting, but i kept smelling it and realized i just dont see it on people. It smells like something a realtor would spray in a luxurious house before showing it. In that regard i think its a great high end, luxury hotel lobby fragrance.
I can now update you. The smell is fresh with some bergamot coming through the opening. I would say it is a citrus kind of fragrance with some vanilla in the dry down. Quite pleasant and my girlfriend said she likes it. I would give it a 7.5 / 10. As far as projection goes, it is modest as well as longevity. Bottom line, pleasant fragrance that is definitely overpriced for what you get. Nothing special really. I also have Armani Code Absolu (which is discontinued) and that would be a 10/10 fragrance in my opinion. No comparison and two completely different fragrances. I would only recommend Code Parfum if you have extra money to waste. Otherwise, I am a little disappointed. Hope this helps.
Love your reviews and your videos. Simply amazing never seen before. I think I’m in love now. 🥰 because of you I bought the Dolce & Gabbana K dark blue it’s amazing 🤩 you are amazing 🤩
Hey Curly, as autumn appears, would you compare/test designer/niche colognes which fit to a leather jacket and could also be used with „normal“ clothing? This would be nice. Thank you for this nice review! Kind regards from Germany. 🙂
@@blackandarmedfamily4905 Thank you! Yes, I got a sample of this fragrance and I like it. But I think it fits „only“ with some sort of leather jacket. I think it is not that easy to find a fragrances that goes well with a leather jacket or with a coat or something like that. 🤔
Girl I really like your honesty. You exactly explained why this smell is my favourite while it's not the best performing, nor best smelling, nor least coying smell in the world. It hits a perfect 8.5 in almost every aspect it's crazy! Yea and you're hot I guess that helps
Hey Michella.....good to hear this review....the kind of parfum it is .... i would love to wear it to my office, black tie events and on an outing with my girl.....n plz review next black incense malaki from Chopard
@@YouOnlyLiveOnce... first... I would to thank you for your comment.. Ive just purchased this new Code Parfum and OMG... it is just so so gooood that make it become my signature scent instantly a very solid release from Armani it is weird as this new Parfum has the line's DNA but the more I love this new Parfum, the more I hate the OG and even EDP just my opinion haha have a nice day !!
Nice! If you can find Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense or the new Stronger With You Oud those should make great reviews! (ps: i think you'll really like them too)
Agreed... It's decent, but far behind something better like JPG Le Male Le Parfum. Just better and more interesting in every way for a warm weather iris sweet fragrance.
I love the new ETD, bought it in this years vacation in Zeeland, it’s a great office scent, but not that strong, so I just had to buy the EDP for fall and winter time 😁 great review as always!!!
To Curly Fragrance,Plese tell me which of these two fragrance do you prefer for man daily use.Prada l’homme(or intense)or Armani Code Parfum.?I live in Lisbon,Portugal, and now is November 2023.Thanks my dear,Walid
I’m from America and this one immediately took me back to my trip to Europe last summer. In bern I smelled this DNA in the air everywhere but just now identified it when smelling the code line in the store today. Bought it immediately. Extremely classy/sophisticated imo and smells a bit better than the OG code.
I just got a tester when I picked up some Dior last night. I feel it would make a fantastic office scent. Perfect for the young office worker that wants one bottle to do it all. The scent isn’t super unique but I think anyone can pull it off. Super solid release.
Its by no means a young guys frag, teust me Im 48 i had this 30 yrs ago in the OG , so its just 10 times better than the crap that is the OG now, I have a bottle of OG that's about 9 yrs old and this is what it used to smell like plus this has the longevity and decent projection that the OG had before they made it into lolly water. It to me and ive only tested it once it is a great skin scent that you will always catch a smell of when moving around etc.
Yeah I absolutely think that this scent can be ranked up there with just about any of the "basic" most classics like Sauvage Elixir, Versace Eros, Dior Homme, YSL Y, The One, whatever etc. the kind of designer scents that become so popular and commonplace because they just simply work. Code parfum is one of them. It just works. It works in almost any occasion and just about anybody who's not an undergrad can pull it off. If you're a college kid I'd not wear it to clubs or class unless you're in a suit or something though. I know some people say age doesn't matter as much but it really does sometimes and this absolutely smells like a 40 year old businessman to me.
I'm a fan of Armani, both his clothes and his fragrances... I bought Armani Code edt and used it for every occasion, I liked it so much that I bought it again 😂... Now they say it's so reformulated , it's not worth buying... 😢 So this Parfum makes me curious 🤔
Mate if you are buying Code in the last 5 yrs min, you dont know what Code is really like, i have a bottle of Code that is abt 9 yrs old way before it was reformulated 10 times, todays OG bersion is worth $20, but i picked this up after testing it a week ago and this is Code how it was back in the day with just a few extra notes. So the Edp and this are very similar, but the price they are asking here in Australia for the OG is stuoid, i paid $185 AUD for 75ml of this Parfum, which is pretty pricey but i have the EDP aswell so im set for yonks, but the OG code now is rubbish.
😍😍 YES, got 3 compliments in a elevator when wearing this, to me this smells like Narsico Rodriguez Parfum20%, Armani Code OG 40%fresh and some of its DNA and 20% of Profondo of the sweat smell .. Curly if you love this Armani Code Parfum, then the EDP is very similar but powdery and very masculine with a hint of freshness that's a all year around smell 😉 ...
@Sher Khan FTW 3 sprays is descent and you well pick up the smell here and there if you sprayed your clothes .. spray 7 times can leave a trail and yes people well able to smell you and longevity is a good 10 hours or more on clothes with 7 sprays ..
Can you please make battle between Dior homme 2020 and Dior homme original and Dior intense and maybe Sauvage.Cause everyone on RU-vid hates Dior homme 2020 compering with original version. I personally prefer Dior 2020 this one more masculine.
Try Scandal Pour Homme Le Parfum, Mugler Alien Man & Alien Man Fusion please 🙏🙏 Michella you should go try em out!! Also there's another new release which is Burberry Hero EDP & Coach Open Road💫💫
I just got the new Code as a gift, it smells a bit like regular Armani Code has been ruined slightly by mixing it with a ALDI brand EDT. The initial Code scent disappeared after about an hour leaving an acrid chemically smell. Not really my thing.
Summer in Madrid goes around 38-40 degrees so you better take a shower, and then another shower and so on. Armani Code line definitely not for summer, at least in Madrid. Thanks Michella!
