This was made in 1980, and I served RN for 14 yrs, and left in 88. I think it,s realistic of that time, but plot is a bit far-fetched! But really enjoyed this film. Thanks for posting. Frank in Bristol.

In my sojourn in the Andrew - Lieutenant Commanders had two and a half gold rings on their sleeves or shoulders.... This one was wearing FOUR... Making him a Captain. This same 'Lieutenant Captain' / foreign spy first was sporting a snub-nosed revolver and in the following sequence he's now armed with a small automatic. Then there's Commander Lloyd [Philip Locke]... Would a spook from naval intelligence really act like this? As for CPO 'Chalky' White [Larry Lamb]... Well after leaving the 'Grey Funnel Line' he went to college, got his deck officer certification and was later seen as 2nd Officer aboard a North Sea ferry of the 'Triangle Line' [BBCtv 1981].

Again ,horrible sounds disguised as "music" ruining the pace of the story, Probably BBC rules. You must hire losers who flunked out of music school. The writer did this and a TV mivie and dropped out of sight because his writing is terrible. And really now ,the taxi pulls up at just the right time and the old "follow that car". How lame can writing get? Oh and the little piece of paper is "all the evidence" as if rampaging around killing a girl and shooting at people isn't "evidence". Makes no sense at all. None. Acting in this would nean certain death for one's hoped for career.
