The Tabernacle Choir and “The Presidents Own®” U.S. Marine Band® perform the "Armed Forces Medley" arranged by Tom Knox. Episode 4436. Aired September 21, 2014.
I'm pretty sure this has been one of the best videos I've ever seen. My skin crawls from listening too much musical quality. Greetings to MTCh and U.S. Marine Band
I’m Catholic but the Mormón Tabernacle Choir is amazing. Living in Salt Lake City, UT there weekly concert and their biannual Conference is on the local TV channel.
My father Edward Killeen USMC on the USS TENN Marine detachment a Pearl Harbor survivor was in the crows nest at the time of the attack Dec. 7th 1941 and could see the refection of the sun off the gold teeth of the Japanese pilot. He ran down the stairs to his bugle and the captain yelled sound general quarters this is not a drill all men to their battle stations. He went on to battle of the Coral Sea, Saipan bazooka man combat wounded, and Iwo Jima. He said he wasn't the hero it was the ones that didn't make it back were. God bless all the vets past and present. Steve Killeen son of Edward Killeen USMC 1922 - 2014 CA. Vets. Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
My father was a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. he did not really talk about the Corps. but now I have a friend that is currently A U.S. Marine and I see how proud he is being a Marine. When i hear the MARINES HYMM it gives me goosebumps THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HAS OR IS SERVING IN THE ARM FORCES.
This was AWESOME! Thank you to all on this board who have served or who are currently serving and to your families who have supported you. And to those who have made the supreme sacrifice in protecting this great nation, my utmost gratitude to you and the loved ones you have left behind. I am eternally in your debt.
I always enjoy Memorial Day and Veterans Day tributes. I enjoy seeing the old men like me who stand up when their song is played. I always try to imagine what they did as young men. God grant eternal peace to our brothers and sisters who have moved on.
I agree with you Ernest they are Superb. As a Musician myself, I play for a Choir in North Wales so really appreciate wonderful music and musicians.. Music has always played a huge part in my life as it is in yours. Kindest regards Sylvia.
This 🇺🇸 we shall defend, from all enemies, both foreign and domestic, for the duties of the citizens of the Republic must never falter in their steadfast resolve to uphold our nation's highest goals and values. Not to conquer but rather to secure the Homeland for all posterity, with liberty and justice for all. Duty, Honor, Country. In God we trust.
As a United States Air Force retiree, a Later-day Saint, and a natural-born citizen of this great nation I thank you for recording this outstanding rendition of the Armed Forces Medley. I was a little disappointed to hear the words of the Air Force Song altered, however. I understand the rationale and the purpose, but I still find it disappointing. Thank you for the beautiful music honoring our men and women in uniform, our veterans, and all those who "gave the last full measure of devotion." God bless this great choir. And thank you for blessing all of us who have worn the uniform(s) of our nation, and wrote her a blank check redeemable for our very lives if necessary. And finally, God bless the USA.
Thank you for your service! Your sacrifices have definitely helped the United States stay safe. In my own opinion, I respectfully think that the one by Vocal Majority is better(. It may just be because I’m a sucker for men’s barbershop) They have it done in a different order though. My favorite anthem, Anchors Aweigh, is done beautifully, as is the air force. I do not know about the word change, it’s not in the top of my head. Have a good day!
RESPECT from England, Royal marines and US marines, the best (bar none) in the world, always stand for their anthems! be it the US marine anthem or A Life on the Ocean Wave
Being a Veteran of the Navy and Marine Corp. you can guess which I like the most , but being a Veteran I relate to all fellow Veterans , all these military Hymns make my blood tingle !
First of all Fantastic job by the choir and the Presidents own. & Thank you to all our Servicemen & Women & their families. In the past, present , and future who serve our Country so fearlessly, to defend our freedoms. ALSO for those that gave the ULTIMATE sacrifice of their LIVES for their Country & freedom. THANK YOU FOR YOUR BRAVERY, & SACRIFICES!! WE THE ONES YOU PROTECT APPRECIATE IT AND SAY THANK YOU!!😊🇺🇲
Patrick. I too was a Vietnam vet and LDS at the time. The white on the American flag originally represented purity and righteousness. For THAT reason I agree with you...we should get rid of the white because it does not represent today's America. In fact, I support getting rid of the flag altogether, as well as the National [WAR] Anthem AND the pledge of allegiance. NONE of those represent America today. America today is a criminal organization run by Mafia types promoting perpetual war under the guise of a "War on Terror"...which is total bull***t. As long as the paradigm exists of, "war is good for the American economy", perpetual war is inevitable. The ONLY WAY to fix this situation is for the American people to wake up and refuse to vote and refuse to pay income taxes.
The correct and accurate, representative US flag would be the blue ball earth set on a fire-engine red background, with "NWO" placed just above the blue ball earth. This would represent America more precisely than any previous fairytale and falsely propagandized representation.
Answer is simple, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is till very much hated by many, especially by the LGBT community. Then again the LGBTs hate everyone so yea.
My conclusion is that the sequence is whatever you like, there is no why. This recording goes Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Marines. Disney has a video posted that uses the sequence Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force. I have a CD published by the U.S. Armed Forces Symphony, that presents Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, Air Force. The National Memorial Day Concert, held on government property in front of the Capitol, attended by a lot of the highest-ranking officers of all military branches, and approved by the Army and National Park Service, presents Coast Guard, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Army.
kind of sad the lyrics changed from "caissons" to "army", nothing against the Army of course. But could anyone tell the real story behind this change ?
