as a european, you can say what you want about the US and its military actions. but no one can deny that the service branches has fantastic anthems they are so good at evoking the right feelings, you can really hear the famous American optimism in these and the way they are different, but go so well together. it distinguishes them, but also keep to feeling of bing part of the same so good love and appreciation from europe.

@@chucktaylor1621 That's understandable, and we don't get the degree of"press" the other branches do. But Google Images "USCG --> MSST, MRST, PSU,..." and people would be surprised. Most people aren't aware that the Coast Guard was an active participant in every conflict since WW1. In WW2 we operated the Landing craft on D-Day, and in the Pacific theatre. Off the coast of Inchon in Korea, Coastal and inland waters of Vietnam, securing ports and vessels in the middle east, intercepting mini submarines trying to snuggle drugs from central & south America... besides the stuff we are known for. Petty Officer 1st Cl Douglas Munro posthumously received the Congressional Medal of Honor for saving the lives of hundreds of Marines in the pacific in WW2. Our people have come home in flag drapped coffins too... Semper Paratus !

As I told you long before, my deceased father loved US Armed Forces, because he was working at US camp as a part-timer in his college student days of the post war era, and he was very Good Terms with US soldiers! He was such a Funny Guy (probably you have already known about it.) and had an very Open-Hearted. So, he Became Familiar with American songs and Even Singing them Before US Soldiers too. He was so loved by them and was Totally Forgetting that they Used to be Enemies of Japan just before then.....! He was Thoroughly gotten the Brainwashing of Loathing US and Britain as "Ogres or Monsters" in the boys soldiers school like West Point. (I am terribly sorry, West Point cadets and its graduates, you are innocent, irrelevant to the brainwashing education of Japanese military of those days.) Now, we have No Military, because Mac Arthurer disbanded it and Instead, Japanese gov't Founded Self Defense Forces, not military. In addition, Mc Arthur ordered the Japanese Prime Minster Yoshida to draw up the draft of Peace Constitution and it has become the Basis and Emblem of our Constitution. But Due to the Troublous times of these days, unfortunately our Proud emblem is About to Be Expunged......... Tokyo is compelled to expand the "interpretation" of our emblem and in reality Strengtening our "Self Defense" Forces. That's why I am strongly feelig the necessity of Constituting of Peace all over the world, led by USA and am really supporting US Armed Forces!

I had to smile when the officer ask those who were in or had been in the military to please stand when their theme song is played. I smiled because I'm thinking there's not going to be one person left sitting down. I look forward to the day when our brothers and sisters from the United States Space Force choose their theme song and and take their place amongst us. The air, the land, the sea, and now space. We; your United States military has it all covered.

Semper Paratus was rewritten a few times to reflect "the times" . It was modified for the Second World War to reflect what we did... sub chasing & busting, troop convoys, putting troops on the beach at Normandy, as well as being the first ashore in the Pacific to make sure it was reasonably safe for the Marines ... It's now back to it's original from 1927 I believe. Semper Paratus, PS2 D8 91-96

@@baronedipiemonte3990 he always talked about the brown water navy and how particularly deadly that assignment was in Vietnam. He got in 1959 and done by 1962. He always worked as a tender/mechanic as a kid here in Philadelphia at all the yacht clubs on the Delaware. Most dont realize how much combat the USCG sees in times of conflict.

I got to meet Senior Cheif Williams and Captain K. Collins at their concert in Reno, NV, a couple years ago. I loved every second of that concert and can't wait to attend another in the future!!

Well done, too bad you did not follow military protocol and play them in the proper order. Rather parochial to play the Navy song last.

While there's an order of precedence in parades and displaying flags, there's no order to playing songs. ANY military band is going to play their song last. Duh.

I am retired US Army (26 years Active & Reserve) and have memories of playing the flute & piccolo in a Reserve band. When we would play a medley like this I would swell with pride. 🙏👍🇺🇸
