Three choices a person might have made in 1918. There were other good choices, not doubt, but these would have been viable choices and were likely some of the choices made by a number of citizens at the time.
Armed in 1876: • Armed in 1876
Armed in 1988: • Armed in 1988

It'd be hilarious, if you did an "armed in Australia" video, you'd have no guns on the table. Self defence is almost illegal here... You can get charged for fighting off a home invader and they get Asya with their crimes... Hell, if you even MENTION a gun in a self defence situation you can be charged for it. It's unjust and our government is keeping us from being able to defend ourselves... Means we're easier to control. I'm hoping once this pandemic ends I can visit the US, maybe even live there one day, because I would feel much safer being allowed to defend myself. I love Australia, but when it comes to self defence? The US is truly the best. 🇦🇺🇺🇸

I really like the "armed in specific-year" format. I had an excellent conversation once with a man that had been a police officer in California during the Manson family murders. Lots of people that could afford whatever they wanted were suddenly very interested in the best weapons they could get hold of. As some suggestions, I'd love to see 'armed in' 1969, 2000, and 1950 (or some other early-post war year).

There’s not a heck of a lot that’s changed in small arms to this day, apart from improvements in ammo and delivery systems. It was all there in 1918. An ‘06 would complete the lineup. Cowboy gets the good news again! Great video! 👍🏻

In their books-Street Stoppers and Stopping Power, authors Sanow and Marshall state they had not intended to include the .32acp in their shooting findings but after taking a look at how effective it was there decided to include it due to it's efficiency in stopping the threat. Although the books are old(+20 years), they are great reads about the development of modern day ammo via various tests other than the FBI one. It has great self defense stories of use in each caliber. Do not forget to do a-Armed in America Today series!

Morning Greg,,,My Dad was also born in 1918...Just love my 94s and 12s...Most shotgun enthusiasts say the model 1912/12 was the finest shotgun ever produced due to the all billet steel makeup and design...And only reason for production hault was cost and competitor cheaper prices,,,mainly Remingtons 870 in the 60s...My favorite gunsmith,,who recently past away,,got me collecting the model 1912s from his massive knowledge on them,,,RIP John Shank!!! John also highly recommended the winchester model 42,,just a scaled down version of the model 12 in 410..Anyway love these fine tools and have many model 1912s in my collection in 12,,16,,and 20 gauge...Love from Ohio,,Neil
