@@nickstone3113 It's an organ. And, NO WAY does that ORGAN destroy the feeling. By the way: Are you tone deaf?!? As for myself, I'm a Bass Singer, at my local County Choir.
Beautiful liturgical music and celebration which brings back the memories of Catholic church liturgy when I was a boy, in the sixties, before the changes brought about by Pope John XXIII. How common was the use of the organs in the Armenian church?
It's still common, I've seen many liturgies from His Holiness Karekin and His Holiness Aram using them, seems they are more common in the Holy See of Etchmiadzin and such important big churches
Western elements of the Mass, such as unleavened bread, the organ, the miter as headdress for bishops, making the sign of the cross from left to right, and many other things were adopted by the Armenian Rite during the time of the Crusades-these were influences that Latin Catholics had on the Armenians during this time, as many Latins were in the area for a long time during the Crusades. The Maronites also adopted many Western customs during this time.
@@mikehatem9570 The Armenian Apostolic Church, as with the remainder of the Oriental Orthodox Churches always made the cross in the direction of left to right. We were never Eastern Orthodox.
