I love all of the AC games but after playing AC2, I gotta say, I would've loved it if they had kept building on what the older gen AC games did, I would die to play a modern old-gen AC game.

Played all the way up through Silent Line (I think I played Nexus? Hard to remember honestly). I really wish they'd go back to the feel of those games where your AC had more weight to them (I mean, unless you specc'd *hard* into being a lightweight build)

The whole line of AC3 is the pinnacle of classic AC. I still like 4 despite being basically different games at that point. I am yet to encounter anyone who likes V. V and VD are so bad they killed armored core. It's also why I'm not optimistic at all about the allegedly upcoming armored core game, since V/VD are the last AC games From made, and they are pretty bad.

The size would be smaller though, likely smaller than a tank because mechs are not as good as tanks at taking damage. Something like the Wolverine from C&C would be more realistic.

Oh yeah, and there's literal dialogue and monologue in the AC games during boss battles and encounter with enemy aces. Dumbass

@@yayo3879 Except I was talking about the intro. As far as the game itself goes, there's very little dialogue beyond what is practical to say in the middle of fights. Monologues are almost nonexistent. Only ones I can think of that come close to it are the part leading up to fighting Nineball in MoA and the final faceoff with Leos Klein at Phobos. Exposition inside missions is kept to a minimum (too much so at times) on top of that.

At this point I'd take an HD rerelease of the classics as long as it had online matchmaking. Preferably steam, but I'm willing to pay for PS plus if it meant I could play online at 60~120fps.

There isn't exactly any Armored Core games where you couldn't remake the "poster-boy". It just so happens that, with the exception of the heavyweight red AC, none of the ones featured here are all that viable because they all suffer from Overweight issues due to the weapons they use and don't move nearly as quick as they do in-game

That's pretty much always been the case with cover ACs up until 4. They were either overweight and unusable (Moa and AC 2 cover ACs) or usable, but total pieces of trash (AC1 and Project Phantasma cover ACs)

They aren't flying that much the intro (except the part breaking)is true to the game

for flying AC scene, you can see it in AC Nexus intro when they're dodge enemy missiles attack and deals with enemy choppers and still.. unlimited energy consumption

if your core can't scoot around like this you need a better generator or more efficient boosters. Besides if it was really 'like the game' everyone would just be short booster hopping everywhere. And you don't need the busted cheat parts to do it.

It is functional, as long as you devote ANY stats to it. It's the anti-missile system, which shoots bullets or lasers to intercept enemy missiles. Thing is, it's hard to see because you'd otherwise be dazzled by your own defensive fire, and nobody devoted any equipment to that because it's a waste of space and energy you could use to dodge. Missiles aren't that hard to evade, especially with Overboost and OB-Cancel.

@@arcdecibel9986 Indeed! It took me a WHILE to figure out it was an anti-ballistic system. When I realized that's what it was, I devoted even harder into crest cores over mirage. Oh the hp was nice and all, but OB and anti-missile that... I remember being weirdly competent? Oh yeah, I ate that up. Helps that I loved using the hover "Legs", so any extra defensive boost helped.

That seems to be the case with these types of franchises. Most everything in the game itself is heavily recycled content with some new things thrown in. More like expansions rather than true sequels. FS started doing this after AC2 and didn't stop until AC4.

@@vXArchonXv they STARTED that with AC2? AC, PP, and MoA were all essentially the same game with different story and some new parts... the franchise copied itself from day one

@@Azure9577 Not really. Even back when these games were new, the follow up games were often criticized as looking more like expansion packs than proper sequels. It really was just new parts and a different story. Another Age, Silent Line, Nexus and Last Raven in particular were all guilty of this
