It's very replayable so that's cool.

Yeah I wasn't going to get this because mech games are like whatever to me. My friend bought it for me for my bday and tbh it's a lot of fun. Didn't expect it to be, but it is.

I haven't played it yet, but I saw another reviewer (Iron Pineapple) mentioned there are branching mission paths that can change stuff in New Game +. Also they mentioned that there are unique missions and mech parts in NG + as well. It's a 20 hour game, but it begs to be replayed at least once.

I didnt like elden ring and hope they return back to normal darksouls type games. I finished it but thought it sucked compared to previous games. Im having so much fun with ac6 and hope i dont have to wait 10 more years for ac7

Wrong. Never seen an 'incomplete' game (and game developers wouldn't make games if they didn't all have passion) and I've played over 600 games. Including this one I'm playing right now and it's awesome.

I don't like the game. Other than boss missions, the normal ones are boring af and a steamroll

Just stating your opinion is great and all, but it’s the same as saying it to a room full of strangers. Nobody cares. Saying something constructive to a room full of strangers might make a few think though and that would be far better use of everyone’s time.

I just got around to watching the ZOE anime. not as fun as the original ps2 game. but still enjoyed. only like 25 episodes.

There needs to be a ZOE2 successor, that game was ahead of its time.

Sadly, I only played the PS2 entries before. Although I have a PS3 my finances were tight enough I had to be extra picky as to what games I would or wouldn't buy back then, and I just wasn't good enough at AC2/3 to justify getting AC4/5. AC6 though, this one is what I'd always wanted Armored Core to be, and I couldn't be happier with it. Hell, despite all of the warnings about how demanding the game is it's running on my gaming laptop at maxed out graphics settings (including Ray Tracing) just fine.

From one of the last ones I played on ps3, the controls are way better and feel closer to the old school arcade style games with the really awesome control stick controls, very intuitive and responsive these days

played it on ps1 and also wanted it to be more of a combination with zoe. seriously considering

So as one Hardcore fan to another... I was heartbroken after about 7hrs... It's very MechSouls or Armored Borne.... The bosses have weakspots, you lose a lot of AC3 and AC4 customizations. It was really disappointing... Think AC5 but less, some items are only R or L, same for back units. They removed Shoulder EX items. You really can't have 2 firing at once like you could. It's very AC2 but less.

My one addendum, is AC vs AC matches are so fun and the AC vs small things is okay, just bosses are bullet sponges.

I just finished the 4th chapter. Definitely excited to finish the game

and with the plot twist in NG++, this game actually has some lore as deep as Dark Souls or maybe Bloodborne. It is just another FS game that if you don't think, it seems very straightforward but as soon as you start to piece them together... holymoly...

The analog deadzone is bigger than it was in Armored Core 3. I don't believe anybody at From Software was actually involved in the control mechanics and sold us some branded art for $60

I think if not full games, they’ll maybe support AC6 with big dlc updates. But considering AC games tend to have time jumps and such, they tend to lean into full releases. But I’m glad to have a new AC, aside from it there’s Daemon X Machina and not much else. There’s mech games where they act as more tank like but not much when it comes to speed and energy swords and such. Although I did like Mech Warrior 5.

As someone who struggles to complete a 60 hour title unless it is dark souls, I enjoy shorter quality games

i think its the micro managing of everything on your mech in a fight, it isnt hold 2 buttons for auto fire and rockets, you have to constantly fire each article of weaponry you have. from that alone i think its a bit harder than your average dodge N roll souls games@@ARod3

I refunded after an hour, same old game from the early 2000s with modern graphics are everyone loses their shit.

I notice definite frame drops in the Ps5 version and the PS4 version running on the Ps5, especially when there are weather effects.

Ray tracing is only for the garage. You're not gonna get that in missions so that's why you aren't seeing frame drops

As a PC only gamer I never knew either AC series and as a Prince of Persia fan I always hated Assassin's Creed and was never interested in Soulsborne games. But over the years as mush as I completely lost hope in Ubisoft I started to quietly respect FromSoft from the sidelines as the quality is there despite moving in a lane not my taste. Amd when the surprise hit of Top Gun Maverick led me down a rabbit hole straight to Ace Combat 7 then the Armored Core trailer dropped I felt exactly like this. Had to get this game.

Yes and those were the dark times where gaming was less of an artform. Not every game needs it though it's true.

​@@josflorida5346tip for balteus because I struggled hard aswell. Swap your ac weapons to the bazookas for your left and right hand. They break the shield very well and they stagger him really hard. Then Swap both your shoulders to the laser cannon you can spam them one at a time after his shield is broken. Then just buy all the heavy armour so your ac is a tank, you want as much ap as you can get. Buy the assault armour expansion, this is good for deleting his shield but you have to be right up his ass because the range is short. Don't spend hours trying to figure out how to beat him like me, hope you enjoy that sweet victory 😁

My guy, I've spent almost 10 hours on sea spider and ive changed my ac up at least 20 different times. This is a straight-up lie 😂 it is definitely harder than the soulsborne games I've played

@Tobythecatrocks yes it is, I breezed through most of elden ring with ease and same with bloodborne and souls 3 This game is harder than the soulsborne games (can't speak for 1 and 2 cause I haven't played those) so I think I have a pretty good idea of which games are harder

@dibs4943 I tried a build with a right-handed bazooka and left-handed pile driver a few times and got my shit pushed in. I already deleted the game anyway. I was stuck on that boss for way too long and didn't want to deal with even harder bosses afterward Appreciate the words of encouragement, though. I'm pretty sure what makes it a lot harder than any of the souls games for me is the speed, it was really hard trying to keep up with the bigger bosses

​@@codysvlogdaysJust beat that one yesterday, it definitely took a bunch of tries. Probably like an hour. If you haven't beat it yet, use the explosive that has 2 shot mag on your shoulder (or both). Those do a ton of stagger and will let you get in some direct hit damage. I used dual smg, shoulder cannon and pulse sword to beat it

Me and my brother also had that demo disc. Came with Parappa the Rapper on it as well if i remeber right.

Even among the stans that would sell their first borns souls to defend 343, all of them universally hate the color palette system and thought it was a scummy thing to do. Sure it's not a gambling loot box but you shouldnt have to pay for basic color palettes

And everyone complaining it is too short lol, the boss fight quality is so good. Beating the game in 10 hours but still continue plaing for the ng+ and ng++ for true ending. That malenia mecha bossfight is so cool. This game is wet dream of mecha lover

I really don’t like how open world games are treated now. Instead of being clear and consise while having a vast world to explores they are empty lands with nothing to explore except for the 3 big towns in the game. ( Pokémon violet for example )

It’s the same for me, first armoured core and never been into mech stuff. But I agree this game is great!

@@Zemeckis_ ACFA was the last good AC game. Ive played this for a few hours and want to pull my hair out with its slow and sluggish commands, terrible UI setup with no Minimap, and it has health pots in the form of repairs! the boss's are something you have to "learn the attack patters" and do not feel like machines that you are contracted to find a way to defeat as in ACFA were the fortress's (boss's) are just another enemy but massive. you have to build vastly different for certain boss's instead of finding the best build in your build style (aka im all about speed yet I have to sometimes switch to something slow and heavy hitting to put dents into some enemy's). The stagger system is a joke, and yes I know other games in the series had stagger but my god this stagger system is so dam in your face annoying with its 2 missiles and your stun-locked. AC6 is an utter disgrace to the AC games of old. All AC6 is an Armored Souls game with how everything is a curated fight with attack patterns and limited battlefield sizes.

I'm not a mech fan too but i do played all of them before.

Several things to point out about Armored Core 6: - AC6 has a lot of replay value due to the decisions made throughout the campaign (that includes multiple endings), as well as the unlockables of New Game + and beyond! - For all newcomer Ravens, you DO NOT need to have played the previous AC games to get into this one, very similar on how Final Fantasy dev teams create its titles. - Plays different from Souls - same smooth, responsive controls. - Long range arsenal: bazookas, gatling guns, split missiles, plasma rifles and more. - Melee weaponry: Cluster bomb thrower, chainsaw, pulse blade, lances and more. - The movement speed is between AC3 and AC5 - There is a heavy on customization. - Tons of custom paint jobs and the posibility of downloading weapons for making decals. - Legs are one of the most important parts of your mech, because they determine how much weight your vehicle can carry. - Your power engine / energy source is on other one as it modifies the amount of energy available, as well as how slow or fast your energy bar will recharge, when its depleted.

Chromehounds was such a great game. Haven’t had my mech itch scratched since. AC VI is close and fun as hell but man…chromehounds.

The strategy is figuring out what build works for you to complete the mission. And the skill is how you handle the mech.

For a 10 year old kid who loves robots as a toy for sure.

So there will be a best load out for each mission

Very true, but funny enough, duel gatling guns and duel grenade launchers carried me through the whole campaign without much difficulty. But different ac body parts definetly played a role in overall success ie. Core, arms legs etc.

That's a turnoff for me. Repeatedly trashing my build and re-accessorizing. Mnh mnh no. The hyped up difficulty.....no, girl. The bland environments.....baby, no. And the way the mechs look like they control in 2d space with the world moving around them instead of moving through the world......huney,it's a no for me.

Funny I Just finished a from soft gauntlet (eledn ring, blood borne, ds3, and ds2) and after I beat hades and I was torn on what to buy. Ended up going with dmc5 and I started it today. Then I hear about this game today as well and I wanna get it lol

Lol when I fought that first boss I was doing okay but I was thinking there’s no way, this is like Demon Souls, Sekiro, and Elden Ring where we’re suppose to die. Then I died ask me to restart from check point and i was like daaaamnn. Took 6-7 tries but im enjoying this game so far fought 2 bosses so far.

I am at the end of chp 2 and getting my ass handed to me again now looool,

Just started on PS5. Don't know if I'm terrible at the game but I find I run out of energy while I'm shooting something, wind up falling down the side of a building, gliding into a wall, then having to slowly raise myself up with X etc, all the while getting shot at etc. Any suggestions how I get better at movement?

are you using the auto lock on feature on R3? as for the falling and such, I bridge most big gaps with the assault boost, dont forget to keep the boosters turned on (circle button and itll say boosters on in the bottom middle) I usually either Assault boost or just glide over the battlefield, not flying honestly. Im sure youll get used to it@@OldFatherGaming you can also use the assault boost (L3) to get up faster rather than X

It helps to keep your surroundings between you and your target, try getting above them, catching them off guard, and use assault boost to close distance. I have been using the linear rifle right hand shoulder rockets, the pulse blade and vertical rockets until I got the OST chip for weapon storage, then I replaced the vertical rockets with a grenade launcher. Linear rifle charged makes short work of most fodder and does good AC strain impact. The real challenge is enemy ACs, but quick boosting and letting your feet hit the ground for a second or two when you’re close to running out of energy keeps you topped up. Select a generator that has high capacity, and good recharge, it helps to understand the more complex stats too.

Hmmmmm.........As I don't mind slower paced gameplay I still give a lot of weight to Front Mission 4 (since FM5 never came to the West), but as for an action mech game, absolutely.
