Short Showcase of my Horus Heresy Death Guard Legion Army. Please see my other videos for more Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness Content. #horusheresy #deathguard #warhammer40k
Everyone’s talking about the minis. But man I gotta give some credit to your scenes! I’d love to see BTS & what terrain kits you use for your sets etc. It’s truly fascinating
Thank you. I have a very large collection of scenery and am excited to bring more of it out to the channel. I will do a BTS video on the Siege of Cthonia tables and feature a lot more of the custom terrain im working on.
I have been painting and collecting for a very long time. In retrospect, a lot of the scenery would be a fortune to do in todays prices, but back when I got all of the Forge World scenery, it was all selling on Ebay Below MSRP. Now its all 3-4x more than i paid.
The painting, basing and transfers on the minis are fantastic! I love the tanks (I'm very much a treadhead). It would be great to see more of the Land Raider & Typhon. The DG specific Praetor looks great too.
Your choice of cinematic filming, music, angles, colours, lights... Dude... 11/10. I got chills. You're the expression of why so many of us got into this hobby in the first place.
Dude I absolutely love the full emersion into the setting you've achieved here with the set design and lighting, It actually looks like a wathammer world display! Beautiful work on the minis too, everything is cohesive and just so. Your channels going to go far!
Thanks a ton! Seriously. My goal is to do more than just make videos about miniatures - I want to capture the atmosphere of the Horus Heresy. When achieved, its often felt but not recognized. Appreciate you understanding.
@heresyera Yeah totally get it, it's the feeling we have in our minds as we paint and play. It's hard to put into words other than imagining your there. I'm always searching for ways to communicate that in my vids too
The consistent quality and amount of models you have done is staggering and inspiring, bloody good job (as usual!) The cinematography and backgrounds are great to :D Really cool to see some of the more unique DG specific helmets and armour bits mixed in here aswell.
i painted my own age of darkness box set up as death guard... well kinda. i was new to the hobby and kept changing how i painted them and i stripped them a couple of times. and now after settling on a way to batch paint the rest of them i've just decided they're all an ad hawk force who's armor condition varies from marine to marine. if i could start all over i would paint them up in a more uniform way, but i'm just gonna go with them as they are
there is variation to the death guard. like other legions, there is a more dominant scheme and then a secondary scheme. dominant being the tan with green paldrons and the secondary being all tan with green paldron trim - they also don’t repaint and repair their armour in the same manner as other legions and they progressively get more wear.
Soh will get a showcase. I have a huge army, about 6-7k + an allied detachment of them for my Army of Dark Compliance militia army. the militia will get a showcase sooner than the main army. when the bay reports drop there will be a Cthonia Garrison and Invasion Fleet showcase -
Désolé je vais pas pouvoir écrire mon com en anglais, tellement j'ai pas les mots pour dire que tu as un talent incroyable !!! INCROYABLE !!! J'ai eu des frisson en voyant ton armée !!! AWESOME !!!!
Thank you. I have been slowly upping up some of the production value. Have some more lights and motion control stuff coming that should allow me to do a lot more.
Thank you. Emperors children will come. They were my first heresy army back in the day and they hold a very special place in my heart. I want to do a later heresy Emperors Children and do the darker purple and black GW is using now.
@@heresyera - Respect. And here's hoping an eventual tweak to the weapon profiles comes, so that lascannons are not so standout. You shouldn't be penalized for playing fluffy.
they were a pain. I just took the extra combi weapon parts off the Cataphractii terminator weapon kit from ForgeWorld and added them to the umbra bolters. Hopefully GW does a seeker / combi weapon set
They are coming, In Excelsis Milia on Instagram helped me with the vector and I have custom transfer sheets at the printer now. Doing very accurate Loyalist Thousand Sons from the Siege of Cthonia. There will be a few painting guides on them.
Hey these look fantastic and the terrain and video are very well produced as well! I hope you don't mind me asking what your technique for painting them was?
This is so cool! I’m just wondering where you got the combi weapon on the siege breaker, he looks way better like this than the normal one especially with the helmet too!
His arm is off the Loyalist Champion from Forge World. I actually stole the idea from The Outer Circle. He suggested it in his review video he did when the Siege Breaker was teased. That idea stuck in my head for a few weeks and when I had the model in hand, I had to execute it. Weapon Combo just makes more sense with the Siege Breaker being more of a back field character.
Your Death Guard army looks great!! Also this might be a weird idea, but I've been wanting to make my second 40k army be Nurgle-corrupted Blood Angels from the Dornian Heresy AU I'm thinking of using either the Mk4 or Mk6 Horus heresy kits since I don't want my Nurgle Blood Angels to just look like red Death Guard (and because I'd like to see what Plague Marines would look like in more "lightweight" armor patterns like the Mk4 and mk6) What do you think of this?
Dornian Heresy stuff is always nice. There are rumors of an upcoming Mk2 tactical set in plastic - that could look nice as nurgly Blood Angels but the others could look cool too. I'm doing some test marines from the Icarion Insurrection project (from the Brotherhood of the Lost) - 18 new legions and primarchs with very cool aesthetics. You might want to check them out if you are interested in alternate universe stuff. Theres a wiki and B&C forum threads. Anyways gl with the project.
@@punec Oh yes, I've heard about the Icarion Insurrection, I'll definitely look into reading up some lore from it Also if you got any ideas or suggestions on how I could convert/kitbash my own Nurgle-corrupted Blood Angels, feel free to let me know
@@ChaseDaOrk3767 I honestly don't know - I'm more of the Khornite Blood Angels fan myself which is easy to imagine/do. But slimy pale green would look amazing on the BA crimson armour. I think there was some fanart stuff on the dornian heresy wiki page. Maybe use some nurgle rot technicle paint on the respirator grills/vents/armour joints as if the marine inside is leaking puss or something disgusting like that :D
@@ChaseDaOrk3767 In the Icarion Insurrection setting the Nurgle corrupted legion is a kind of psychic null legion but the nurgle corruption I think turned them into some kind of zombies. Like a shambling horde thing. The BA might lean more into riding the flying rotfly things or have something to do with blood diseases/hemoplagues. Idk to be honest
it’s pretty simple - black undercoat, vallejo air bleached bone, vallejo air white, seraphim sepia wash - im going to do some painting guides on them - they are super fast
it’s the same recipe i use on my entire collection. any of the painting guides on my channel for infantry go into detail on it - usually in the back 20-30% of the videos
@heresyera I should have worded that better. I meant what is the base color you use for the Deathguard. I do like your basing and have started using that method myself.
