_Hi troopers. As you all know, we've been struggling to reach our diversity goals. That's why I am delighted to introduce your new captain, Karen 'ACAB' Karenson, who has a proven track record as a strong and independent woman that's tough enough to make it in a man's world after being fast-tracked to this position because of her gender. @@Antibeds_ABOUMainly no, but it depends on the reason why yoy wanna join. The MARINE CORPS and the ARMY is the aggressive branch and it's more of a loyalty to be in that branch and no time much of getting your education unless you stay in the military for longer times only. If you are going to join for the benefits and education and comfort and better quality life then go AIR FORCE and if you wanna do your job and not like the other military branches except USA COAST GUARD, then go COAST GUARD because COAST GUARD actually does its job on a daily basis and not just train train train and train and train and more training and train and train just for war but the COAST GUARD, you actually do your job actively and not just sitting around and training alot for the sake of war. If you do decide to join ARMY, stay away from COMABT MOS's, trust me, you'll save yourself from idiot's, immaturity, egotistical toxic high school bullying crap, etc. If you do regret it in the ARMY, still in basic training, wait till black phase then quit cuz then you will get ETPS but be ready for harassment, bullying, etc., if it happens because of other trainees. So yeah, don't join the ARMY Mainly but then again it is up to you.

Well if you pull the numbers, they missed their recruitment goal starting in 2018 for the first time since 2005, so they lowered the goal in 2019 and just barely hit it, again in 2020 and 2021 they lowered the goal an just barely hit it. In 2022 for some reason they raised the recruitment number goal back up to the 2018 goal, and missed it by a long shot. So this has been a 4 year trend of numbers dropping, the only thing that changed is the goal. Plus at what age do kids start discussing and seriously thinking about joining the military? 17, maybe 16. What happened 17 years before 2018??? Used to be vets would encourage their kids or other kids to join and serve their country, I know a lot of vets, and not many of them want their kids to be lied to in order to go fight a forever war based on false claims.

I have been in for 25 years. There is just to much abuse of the junior enlisted soldiers. In 2003 I was stationed at Camp Casey South Korea. I was with the 2nd Military Police unit 2nd Infantry Division. We had went through 6 1SG's in a year. One, was drunk on duty multiple times, missed PT formation on a regular basis. The soldier was also having extra marital affairs which is a crime under ucmj. He, one night at 2300 ordered all the junior enlisted to fire guard on each door in the barracks as he was drunk. The CO reversed it but it took awhile. There are so many things I could discuss, but the culture was bad then and it's worse now. I regret ever enlisting.

@@digger11000 ...Man that's rough, sorry you had to go through that, I never served, spent 27yrs on the job as a firefighter, a career that lends itself well to a lot of former military, so had the honor of working with some fine men and women from our military over the years. Plus we are structured in a paramilitary fashion, so on a smaller scale I've encountered a little bit of what you're referring to, in fact I ended getting burned out, diagnosed with PTSD and retired about 5yrs before I wanted to, in large part due to an old school Chief and Dep. Chief that thought mental health was for pansies and PTSD only occurred with men that fought in actual war. He's gone now, and the fire service is making strides in the right direction, but still have a way to go when it comes to mental health, and getting rid of the "good ol boy" mentality in the chain of command. I was curious, do you still know enough enlisted to know if the death of SPC Guillén a couple years ago down at Fort Hood and the subsequent "I Am Vanessa Guillén Act" that POTUS signed, changing the SOG for reporting any kind of harassment or sexual abuse to be reported to someone outside the unit, or above the commander, helped at all? I get exact chain of command/ranks mixed up sometimes, but basically I originally had it explained to me like if a SPC was being harassed by lets say a Staff SGT, they obviously couldn't file a complaint with that Staff SGT, so SOG would allow you to go to a rank above them, and still be withing the guidelines of "following chain of command". I was told the problem there was, that person would usually be someone like a First SGT, or Command SGT Major, and very possibly came up through boot camp, or is at least friendly with the Staff SGT, making it far more likely for the ranking commander to sweep it under the rug, or down play it. The Guillen Act was supposed to send that complaint away from the unit, or base to help eliminate or reduce that outcome. Any word if it has been effective in any way?

Current retention rates are garbage due to one major reason. Leadership. Its all corrupt to a strong degree in even the smallest units, a leader can provide no evidence and with a pen to one piece of paper your career is damaged because you simply had a different opinion(happened to me recently, i told the officer we need his help because hes fighting to go home at lunch and not come back after), sexual harassment is very common and you are punished for speaking up(women just dont join. Your safety is more important) and its brushed under the rug because the offender has rank. I have hip problems, both skeletal and muscular, and everytime I fight to see a doctor because im trying to get better they give me insane amounts of hell for it. Im now on a profile and an NCO is tryint to convince the commander to waive it because he has to work(hes not even in my section! Or job! He just wants it waived because its a serious injury and really limiting). His mindset is hes working, and even though hes not on a profile that means I need to work like i dont have one. Overall theres no accountability, the army has become a mens club for people who demand to be special. Theres no fixing this without gutting leadership

The best solution is rather simple. The Army needs to return to advertising itself as tougher and more masculine organization that wants strong soldiers, preferably male. I've seen how DEI goals have had the complete opposite effect on recruiting and retention. There is no room for femininity in an effective military. Without doing that precisely and with substance, we're looking at implementing the draft eventually if this drags on. Then you will have a truly dysfunctional Army as NCO's and Officers are faced with a large cadre of conscripts that will make Army life rather difficult, combat effectiveness will erode, and overall continued managed decline will make the Army irreparably inept . The Army needs to take a page from the French Foreign Legion who is currently turning away potential recruits because they refuse to go woke and weak, lower standards, or bend on tradition. One other thing that will help tremendously is to break down the corruption in the Military Industrial Congressional Complex (I know a seemingly impossible task) and Congress will have to finally declare war on an enemy nation or entity (I know another seemingly impossible task). They have abdicated their Constitutional duties in this manner since WWII.

No,the culture needs to change. Politics is killing recruitment. It's the same thing that is effecting teachers, police, you name it. The Marine Corp had a much better culture which is why they met their recruiting goals.

If you want an example of a very masculine military look at Russia, they are loosing to a military trained by NATO(supposedly less masculine). It turns out that if you treat people better they will generally like you more, Russia doesn't have a lot of career soldiers mainly because of toxic work environment and hazing. Career soldiers are needed for the more advanced weapon systems, you can't expect a conscript serving a year/or two to do basic training and learn how to effectively employ a SAM battery effectively. The vast majority of the killing and wounding is done by crew served weapons/area affect weapons(artillery, airplanes, mark19 etc), a person who is very good at math/communication is much more valuable in a battle than someone who has a rifle. Woke is a term people use to describe someone who thinks that people should be included more in society, shunning a group of people isn't going to make the militaries recruitment problem any better, after all they need as many people as they can get and shunning is turning people away. Beau of the fifth column has very good videos on the military and Russia, would highly recommend you give him a look.
@digger11000
@digger11000 Год назад
You have to add that the Russian army is poorly trained and funded, they always have been. This is why we won the cold war. It's not about masculinity. The history of Russia is very sad, especially when it comes to their military. In ww1 some Russians were armed with pitch forks, no joke!. The same thing, although to a lesser degree in ww2. Russia could not keep up with capitalism beyond ww2.

@@digger11000 The Russians have historically been on the lighter end of the budget, but the Ukrainians were even worse off. The Russians have a gdp per capita little over twice as much as the Ukrainians, and the vast majority of the equipment is soviet for both sides. What really made the difference was tactics and intel in the early stages of the war. The more the war drags on the more western equipment the Ukrainians get.

When the secretary of the army has never been able to fight her way out of a wet paper bag on her best day, my beloved US military has been taken over by feminization and woke anti-masculinity ideology. Marine Corps infantry six years. Close combat veteran, telling all the young men that read this; don’t join. The men do the hardest missions, the women get the praise- for being amazing and brave -the political officers get the credit. It’s over. It’s all woke. The men will always have to carry the real load. The women in the military only make it heavier. Don’t join. Go to school, get a trade, whatever. Our country doesn’t respect 🫡 men anymore. Stop letting them use us to do everything they can’t and/or don’t want to do while pretending like they can do it. The standards are ALWAYS having to be lowered because the women can’t do it. But they’re not lowered for the men- because they’re necessary standards- and SOMEONE HAS TO BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY DO IT. Why aren’t women playing college football 🏈? Or professional golf ⛳️ even? If they’re physically able to equal 🟰 men? And those are only merely games. Warfare can quickly unexpectedly devolve into hand to hand combat to the death 💀. There’s blood 🩸 on the hands of their wokeism. Women and children don’t belong in combat arms. It’s absurd. Don’t join.

Not sure if the Army is "struggling" as much as it's being obstinate at maintaining its current recruiting & retentions standards. Reliance on firepower can only go so far, in light of China's recent modernization and increased defense spending, already starting to mirror the later days of the Soviet Union. Facts: US Army had 780,000 troops, since the end of Vietnam War/ conscription, until roughly 1989, the end of the Cold War. This roughly equates to 1 million when adjusted for today's population growth. Our Active Army currently numbers about 452,000, since last year. Perhaps the solution to the Army's "problems" is its past. Our Congressmen and Army Officials are either too stupid to realize this, or they just want our military to stagnate, in face of our increasingly unstable international affairs.
