They did a number on my Arden 15 Bermuda 2 weeks ago. Like you, I was just a little late. I’ve saved the majority of it but will have to wait till the spring to really promote a lot of new growth.

I absolutely love using a slit seeder like you're using, and not the ones that tear a groove in the ground and then drops seeds randomly down. The seed to soil contact and germination rate is so much better. It does take a lot longer that broadcast over seeding, but it is worth the time. Unfortunately, The Ryan walk behind slit seeder I used to rent is no longer available, so I'm out of luck. 😩. I'm really enjoying your videos!!

OMG, I've had grub worm problems , but nothin' like this, you're fortunate enough to be able to spray, here in Ontario Canada we have to use nematodes which is really just a crap shoot.All the best my friend.

Army worms suck! I remember atone while in turf school we did the pre game maintenance for opening weekend of a SEC football game, including basic line and logo painting, came back Friday morning band Pythian blight had basically destroyed the playing surface in less than 18 hours!

They did me the exact same way and I thought the exact same thing as you. Then I tested area in my lawn an sure enough I was infested with them. I think I’m going to spray early for them this year. It will recover though

Could worm eggs have been brought in with straw used to cover seed?

100% the army worms. Next spring spread a product with acelepryn. There is a one and done product to use and get season long protection on rough and fairway. Use bifenthrin on your green. Expensive and worth it. Keep it up this is good stuff.

SEVIN dust lawn granules kills earth worms up here near Seattle. It might work on army worms. Just need to water it in or do it on a rainy day.

Funnily enough we have had army worms in our lawn as of about two months ago all the way down here in Australia. They've destroyed enormous areas and they don't look like stopping!

It is stuff like this that convinced me the only way to go with my backyard pitching and putting greens were synthetic turf. I know they aren't the real deal but I'd rather be playing than cursing the grass gods.

Clearl5you haven't seen it all...because a fairway can be taken out in a day with GLS, grey leaf spot especially with Fescue cut short or the rough and Rye grass. Use a grass resistant to certain diseases and pest. A disease like pythium would of taken your fairway out because clearly you don't have the experience in identifying pest and disease fast enough.

That is horrible sir but just know you are teaching and laying the ground work for other possible backyard hole builders. Great content live watching it. Once all is good and ready to play you should hold a tournament for your subscribers have a small entry fee and prizes.

Maybe set up a pond somewhere, get some ducks to move in. Let those suckers eat away. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love your channel! Can't you find a talented greenskeeper to act as your consultant? You could put him on your channel, he would be getting free advertising that would be worth a fortune to him. I must be missing something here, because this seems pretty obvious.
