A huge irritation of mines this season, is that Szobo is being slated for being out of form, but that's only happening because Klopp is suppressing his natural game. He's trying to turn him into Henderson when his strength is attacking. Just look at him when he's playing freely with Hungary. He's extremely talented.
Oh he’s super talented for sure and one I’m really excited for in the future. I think he could be one of the PL’s best. Excited to see what Slot can do with him.
Totally agree with your forecast - especially with Szobo in that role........and same for Conor Bradley..... a no brainer for me....the kid has it all IMO.....a star in the making......
I have no idea a bout Slot or how good/decent he may be. I do like your line-up. TAA was originally a midfielder and feel Bradley is a better defender than TAA. I'm a huge Jota fan and yes, no more injuries.
Don't we already have a DM who held off Rodri while pocketing KDB and got him substituted? The same DM to thundered into Fulham's Palhinha and winning the ball for Pool to then score. This said DM will be part of Slot's double pivot for 2024/25
Well that DM is getting old and won’t be here long term, so we need another proven 6 alongside Stefan (and Tyler) for the long term. Getting one now would mean he’s integrated into the squad by the time Endo retires and can directly replace him.
Endo is 31 and last month proved he can't last full season as a regular starter in this intense league with his age he's a good squad player nothing more stop deluding yourself
Also when Feyenoord switch to a cdm and two breaking mids rather than the pivot, schlot prefers a press resistant strong cdm. Now Liverpool don't have that particular profile atm, Stefan might grow into it, or Gravenberch bulk up a bit, both are press resistant though.
I like the entire formation except one position, Gakpo has shown a big improvement in his performances yes, but I think it's no coincidence his form improved with his position being Left Winger more often now. He still looks really shaky when Klopp deploys him in center of the pitch areas. Just play him on the left and give Nunez a shot in Slot's system first I'd say (I dont think Gakpo starts over Diaz, but it's a lot closer than most people think)
Yes!!! Fantastic idea. Great point on Gakpo - although I think Slot can turn him into an excellent strikers, my first choice would be to have Darwin just come good and be a beast up there.
See your point. However the creativity moves further up the pitch. The wide guys invert and look to feed through the st or attack the half spaces. The full backs provide the width and crossing, needs a big engine forward and back. For all Trent's strengths going back isn't one. Moving the creativity further up the pitch also created the chances much closer to goal, increase in conversion stats? Harland misses lots for City, but the chances are in the area, so better conversion chance?
Having Robbo and Bradley as wing backs and Macca and Trent in the double pivot wouldn’t be balanced. It’d be way too offensive minded and wouldn’t solve our defensive issues. We seriously have to start addressing our defensive vulnerabilities! just 1 clean sheet in our last 13 games showcase that. We need a pure 6 to break down the opposition and regain control. Mats Wieffer could be that guy, lots of similarities to Rodri, Fabinho and even Rice. Love Robbo but we’re so much better with Gomez on the left, he can also invert and overlap if needed but offers way more defensively.
For me, I feel Arne will work more with Morton, Bajcetic, Carvalho, Gravenberch, Jones, trent, macca, Szobo. He likes young players. Endo, Salah, Robbo moves after 1 season with Arne. Make Bajectic take up Endos role. We need a whole new young players. They are hungry to prove themselves.
When Trent was part of a 2 at the end of last season he had better stats than Kdb. Love the video and analysis just like to add Slot likes to play with flying wingers who carry the ball.
Defence needs work you can not keep coming back from behind ( LFC conceded early to many times ).... up front Sale Nunez or Salah, then get Isak .... .... he is going be the next up and coming great
We need another decent left back. The lad from fulham?. We need a big cdm aggressive who can move with good passing range. That swedish striker from sporting too. Natural finisher.
@@simonpage5870 don't doubt the man! I think with him and a new manager, FSG might be willing to splash a bit - especially with us being in champs league and who knows ... maybe we sell Salah.
Would be nice to get Andre from Fluminense, pitbull of a defender, ball winning DM and great control with his feet. +1 for already being linked with him and for being much younger than paulinha
@@AllRedShow I think he will fit in to slot's plans. I see a Messi in him if he's well drilled to be the star ⭐ player in the squad. I think if we don't make good use of him and let him go it would affect the club
12:30 I'm also a tad worried we missing an elite destroyer to make Slot's system really work. Slot has said he watched a lot Pep and De Zerbi teams, and both played with exceptional destroyers in Rodri and Caicedo. Mac is good, but he's not a destroyer. If there's any position I think Edwards will spend on, I'd put money on CDM, unless Morton or Bajcetic are ready.
I would put Endo as a no.6 n MacAllister as a CAM..n Szobo as a RW/RF why Szobo creates spaces for the striker for Gakpo or Jotta.. n he can add a CAM option to pull CB from their positions,
I think a true DM in the midfield 2 might be needed. Mac Allister and Trent feels too attacking for me. But it can be adaptable mixing and matching the midfielders. Gakpo drops deep and he would be mostly occupying the space Dom Szoboszlai occupies.
@@AllRedShowI kinda agree with him, Slot play with a Box to box and a Ball winning midfielder who is confortable with the ball so I feel TAA and Macca is too offensive in this
@@spinoasunyt2334 you forget, Slot plays that way at Feyenoord where he doesn't have the same calibre of player to work with. He won't translate everything he does at Feyenoord to Liverpool, because he has different players. Better players.
@stuart_edward Well, even that doesn't change that the midfield will be offensive. Look at Arsenal and City, they both have ball-winning midfielders that fit their playing style, Liverpool had a great Ball-Winning Midfielder fitting to their playstyle when they won the title. The double needs to be complementary with one more offensive and a midfielder who is more focused on defensive style
Why not put macallister in the more forward position and Darwin down the right if we dont sell salah him in the middle gakpo or jita on the left trent could also play the more forward position innthe middle same as Elliott or carvalho
My concern is our cb not having enough control behind. I would sell VDD keep konate cuz he still young as rotation. Liverpool could get 2 more strong fit younger CB ti go in the starting 11. Then get a DM we should kick off next season with big bang
Nallo. 2 up and coming cb in Nallo and Quansah. Needs a right sided ball playing cb. Preferably not off to AFCON every two years. Hear a lot about Pacho at Frankfurt?
I'm not sure why you took so much time on Trent in the double pivot. You even brought up Robo playing in the mid when talking about it. We know Robo isn't a mid, no one evwr brought that up and the Trent in midfield discuss has been going on for a couple years. You're not making a new point so you dont need to explain, wr get it
Because it’s a new formation, not a 4-3-3. We haven’t been playing a double pivot but likely will under Slot. And the Robbo in mid was an example of someone who wouldn’t fit in a midfield role, to show that Trent is different and capable. Thx for the comment! 🙏
@@AllRedShow lol, but every single Liverpool fan knows Trent has that ability and Robo doesn't. It's just funny to me that it even needed to be said. And yeah, it's a new formation, but I've still heard people talk about a double pivot with Trent, and never with Robo. It's such a a weird example. Trent was a mid in the academy, so we know he has the potential. Not sure why we need that example.
Great video, bro, but I'm not certain Slot plays TAA as part of the double pivot. At Feyenoord, Slot used his RB as a faux CDM, playmaker, and I think he will do the same at Liverpool. Slot is a Pep disciple, and just like Pep made Cancelo a faux midfielder/playmaker, I see Slot doing the same. I can see a left-field thing where Bradley plays at LB. Slot, again like Pep, loves stretching player's ability, and I can see him wanting Bradley to take a stab at LB. Usually one of his fullbacks overlaps and enters the final 3rd, and that's Bradley to a T. Bradley will excel at short passes and forays forward. Bradley is tailor-made for a Slot system.
Yep I agree - but he's also able to fill two roles at one position. I think we're just so stacked with talent the issue is how do we maximize every position.
Gakpo is not a striker he plays best on the left stop putting him up top its infuriating, play Nunez consistently up top in this system and he will reach his full potential
@@AllRedShow he got that from the left wing, as soon as he moved there things got much better, Diaz then tried to fill the space in the middle which was just strange because why even play him at that point and not just let Nunez play, Diaz was just running around as he usually does without being very efficient, with Gakpo doing so well on the left just let him be there he is a left winger, let Nunez be the striker and they can help each other, when Nunez came on he was put on the left wing for some reason and Gakpo was the striker, its just madness it doesnt help these players whatsoever, Slot must fix this and let them be where they are at their best, we got players for each position so use them there
@@AllRedShow Nunez cant perform when he isnt allowed, I have never seen a worse treatment of a striker anywhere in the world, this is textbook wrong management and handling of a striker in a team, you cant keep taking him out of the team, cant keep hurting his confidence and disrupting his rhythm, whenever things arent looking great he is the one who gets scapegoated, nobody at Liverpool helped it, cant imagine City doing this with Haaland even when he is completely useless, Pep will make excuses for him, the players will come out apologizing for not carrying him hard enough, Liverpool do the exact opposite, everything is on Nunez and if he only gets one chance in a game and doesnt score it the team isnt the problem its him not being able to get to 100% conversion rate, its a whole asylum and Liverpool deserve all the bad thats happened to them this season, better get their shit together for the next one or it will be another disaster
