If only they discovered him when he's early 20's he could have done more. He was past on his prime days when journey discovered him but still he is great. WHAT a true legend
Philippines agency or music industry only sees s white skin and karaoke singers Not to the level. of international or worldwide talents ..🇵🇭needs to start looking At talents not looks and white skin
@@erlindafields8897 as a Filipino, I agree to this to a large degree. Also what saddens me is a lot of Pinoys say they're proud of this man but they cant even support his YT channel. One sad mentality also is unless a talent really makes it big out there, theyre not very much supported here. Would you believe that Lea Salonga, gets stupidly bashed here just because she voices out her opinion about politics. Even Regine Velazquez who has brought so much pride for her country gets bashed and called a has-been. I mean, the amount of hate these people get sometimes from people who will join the Pinoy-pride wagon when their "idols" seem to be winning, but drop them like hot potatoes when they're not doing well is appalling sometimes. It's really sad sometimes.
The key in "Lost in Love" was low that hampered his outstanding ability in delivering high notes. Compared to last song when he excellently hit those high notes. This guy can feature as a lead singer in tour for big bands : Journey, Chicago, Queen, GNR, Bon Jovi, and Air Supply.
Oneness100 I don't care what you think about him because he sounds like Steve Perry. It's been his dream. We ALL can dream. It doesn't mean ALL of our dreams will come true.Let him enjoy it.Why do you want to argue?
Janet J So I'm supposed to promote Arnel's dreams of him trying to act like Steve Perry? Sorry, but it's an insult to my intelligence. I don't like what they are doing now which is why I don't go to their concerts or buy their more recent albums. I still like most of their older material, but they haven't done anything in many years that was worth buying. You aren't one of Journey's original fans from the first year they started playing. I used to watch Journey play when they first started playing concerts and I've observed their entire career from the beginning and I simply don't like the direction they are going and from their album sales, neither does the majority of their fans. Just because someone else has a dream doesn't mean I have to buy into it and support it if I don't "believe" in it as being fruitful. He's part of Journey's downward spiral turning a mega hit band into a Tribute band. Great. Sorry, not interested.
Oneness100 How do you know anything about me being a real "from the beginning" Journey fan? I have ALWAYS loved Steve Perry.I hated it when his voice was messed up and when he was battling other problems.I know it will NEVER be the same. But you have to face change...it happens and time moves on.I never said you had to support them or even like them for that matter.I believe you are entitled to your opinion and me mine.So I wish you well.
Janet J Journey started performing long before Steve Perry. Did you ever see Journey before their first album was released? I saw them many times as I grew up in the SF Bay Area and they were a local band when I saw them and they weren't touring yet and they hadn't released an album at that time. They were gigging in 1973 and their first album didn't come out until 1975. I saw them right before their first album came out. I know there is going to be change, but if the new singer doesn't sing it well and the songs suck, then I'm not going to buy them. It took me a while to like Perry, as it was a huge change from being a more instrumental band, which I preferred, being a musician, to a more pop rock ballad band catering to teenage girls. Yeah, I played in a rock cover band for a short period of time and we played Journey songs from the Infinity album note for note, but I simply got sick of playing cover songs, so I went to other bands playing original music, I much preferred creating something rather than regurgitating someone else's songs. Yeah, it's fun to do, but it gets old fast. I liked the Infinity album and others afterwards, but Raised on Radio and Trial by Fire kind of sucked and all of the subsequent albums didn't do it for me either. I just see Arnel as a cover band singer playing with his favorite rock band covering the songs his idol used to sing, but they haven't come up with anything new that i'm interested in. I just don't Arnel as a REAL replacement that can really take the band into a new direction that sounds good. So far, I just am not buying into the new Journey just because a small portion of the fan base is.
With the first two songs Arnel was not at his best (in my opinion), but when he startet to sing Making Love Out of Nothing at All (4:12) I was all "WHOW!"
Buti pa si Neil napansin sya, you deserve everything Arnel, Hindi lng pang pinas talent mo, international!!! God Bless always
😘😘 In one decade past,no wonder and not mistaken journey chosen AP, Arnel you are the lucky charm & gems of the Journey band.Good LUCK! God Health and may God blesses you Always..Just sing it with the LORD...💖💖
You can't beat Air Supply music... always in my blood... and so happy to seem LIVE in Toronto a few years back... Air Supply is growing up in the Phils. Making Love Out of Nothing at All is my all time fav... such a powerful song.
Well, he sounds like Steve Perry which is why they hired him. But Perry can sing higher so it's easier for him to sing their catalog. But Arnel does a very good job! Recently, however, Journey gigs so much that they tire his poor voice out. Hopefully, Arnel knows when to tell them he needs to rest.Their constant giging is was caused Steve to quit and retire for over 25 years.
Steve doesn't have his old voice anymore, but in his prime he was really good. 👍🏾 Arnel is technically a better singer, ion, who can change his voice and sing like almost like Ann Wilson at one point and like Axl Rose or Bryan Adams the next. 👍🏾
Comon people first of all he didn’t go looking for Journey, Journey came looking for him...end of story. Don’t shit on his roller coaster ride because I know if any was ever given a chance because of their God given talent, I bet you they wouldn’t say no. Peace.
Alan, SORRY! The "you" should be "they". My intention is to support your opinion. It really hurts when Arnel is being bashed by others. I see no sense why people kept on arguing and changing other people's ideals. I like Arnel so much. It's so lonely here in China and his songs kept me company everyday. Just learned about Arnel early 2016 and I regret missing his concerts while I was in Manila, especially one with the Journey. Too busy then. Founding him on you tube was purely accidental and followed his story. He deserved where he is now. Those who knew how I liked him were giving me articles from magazines, DVD of concerts in Manila and mementos of his concerts. I hope he will be in Manila when I go for a vacation on January-February 2017.
BTW, Alan I like Air Supply too. I've watched their concerts in Manila 4 times and I can't believe Arnel can sing their song that good. It doesn't mean that Arnel totally changed my admiration and respect to this group. I hope the Steve Perry fans should feel the same thing to Arnel. He is not totally replacing Steve in their hearts. Arnel respect Steve. He was hired by Journey to sing their song.
Alan Green I respect ur perception and i think Arnel is not that kind of person,he is such a wonderful super humble person and brave enough to handle all the negativity being thrown on him..
Fortunately, there are a lot of other videos on RU-vid where ARNEL PINEDA slays Air Supply songs like he does with everything else. He is known for his versatility.
Brandon Martinez Rock Icons like STEVE PERRY don't sing in karaoke bars. Even at age 66 he is an incredible showman who would blow Arnel right off the stage.....Unless the audience was Filipino.
Wish Flower I cannot believe you are in this channel you are a hater of arnel but you still keep following him he he he. I know you like arnels voice ,stupid ego .ego ego.
@@valeriehambly4180 is something wrong singing in Karaoke we are proud if it mostly of the houses we have it, you can search in RU-vid children in the Philippines are grear singer.
I didn't like this performance the first time I watched it. I love Arnel's voice and I like the first two Air Supply songs so I was hoping he'd hit a home run. But then listening to it the second time I realized just how much audio distortion there is - mostly very subtle but nonetheless the audio is not as clear as you'd find on a CD and for a vocal performance that can make a huge difference. I think that might be part of why some of the comments below are negative about his performance. I'd love to hear this in CD quality; I bet it would make a big difference. And the audio/video goes very slightly out of sync starting at about 4 minutes or so. That certainly doesn't help. Steve Perry is always my number 1 for Journey, but Arnel is right behind him.
