Idk why you guys failed to take into account the assassins were never strong even from a story perspective. Shays story is the only time the templars actually paid attention to the assassins before they became a problem. Otherwise in all other assassins games if the templars wanted they could wipe out the order in the beginning
@@Handlerhandleyeh playing it now, Edward just had all the raw skill and weapon skill to already be one of the assassins without training, shit imagine if he was trained tho he prob would be able to take on Shay and win
I already hate Connor for killing Haytham, I don't wanna hate Arno for harming Shay. I don't think he'll be able to actually kill Shay but I don't wanna risk it 😅 Shay is in my top three
I honestly struggle to see Shay as an anti-hero. I think that, in the context of Rogue, the American Brotherhood had just gone bad; they'd lost sight of what it meant to be to be Assassins. If Shay had been a part of any other brotherhood, he probably would have stayed an Assassin. But the Assassins had fallen so far in America that becoming a Templar was preferable. And that's not even to say that the Templars are necessarily inherently evil. The series goes to (went to) great lengths to show that both sides sit on the moral grey. Order and freedom are two inherent goods that both oppose each other and both become bad when taken to the extreme. The difference is that the Templars' fixation with control often leads them down the bad path while the Assassins are historically better at keeping that balance. Shay wasn't an anti-hero. He was just a hero. And he was a great Assassin who became an even greater Templar.
Arno killed a master Assassin just after his training ended. Also Arno is not even in his prime! Dude would make shay shit himself if he progresses just like he did in unity
@@kotten0swe Jesus Christ that dodge assassination he did on the trailer was extremely badass! The only trailers that can compete or defeat are the AC brotherhood trailer and the AC origins trailer were bayak stopped the arrow with his shield.
but the assassins he kills work differently. Arno is more of a duelist and would force a confrontation where he is actually fighting instead of trying to assassinate him. Like the fight with bellec. Plus Shay wasnt killing powerful assassins. He only killed adewale while hiding. The only way he wins is if he gets the drop on arno. If they get into an outright fight like a duel he is gonna die. Most assassins lose to arno in an outright 1 on 1.
@@zayzayserna247 Maybe so but none of them assassins even touch any of the other protagonists when it comes to Master Assassins. Maybe Adewale but other than that, every other assassin in the franchise we have played as is more skilled than the ones Shay killed.
@@ac_nerd9794that’s exactly what I always say😂😂 like in the game it’s preferred that you run down & assassinate the assassins . telling you the game depicts them running from shy & assassinate them not actually fighting them . Besides for 2 the first Assassin that you kill in a fort I forget he’s name & Louis Joseph what ever he’s name is he was a dick so I had no problem killing him lol . & not to mention the only 2 high tier assassins that can actually be compared to other main protagonist one gets crippled by haythem & adewale was pushing like 50 , 60
if you ever notice the memory syncs in ACR the shay was really a menace he killed a lot of strongest assassins of the brotherhood without taking any damage also he killed many assassins with getting caught or taking damage according to the memory syncs.
I would love to see this in a game called vengeance ac and make it a unity dlc Where old connor and arno work together to kill shay that would be amazing to me
Yes for Arno plus Connor against Shay. NO for vengeance. Neither Arno or Connor gained a thing from their revenges. I don't think it makes sense at this point.
@@Sekaidestroyer agree 100%. Tbh I would just be happy to have Arno again, we never really got a good arc for him or anything and I would really like to see his journey to becoming a master assassin so they can flesh out his character a bit more.
@@vitin4419 no shay a hunter assassin i like assassin's but shay better than arno. and combat goes shay. Shay in assassins and then go to templar. 😎🗿 i make my own comment
It is genuinely INSANE how many great assassins all lived within 100 years of eachother. Connor, Shay, Arno, Jacob and evie, Edward. Wtf was in the water during the 17/1800s
@@Vengeance1996 no AC protagonist comes even close to Altaïr, even with a few disadvantages he’d be the victor. The one who’d be the closest to him in skill would probably be Ezio but that’s relative to everyone else, Ezio’s still behind Altaïr by a few miles
@@DYautjaArno would smoked him with is parkour quickness stealth and with is sword technique isn’t Arno can also hear and see clearly miles away and if you say shay killed all the assassin all the assassins he killed were clowns only adewele but isn’t was 60 years old or something Arno is much better
@@yakovvidberg7035if you're going to take in gameplay then Shay wouldn't be able to be assassinated by arno because he'd just intercept him, also he makes his own luck
Combat goes to Shay my dude he can use different weapons to fight Arno uses other weapons. But something he can't use is the hidden blade in combat like Shay does.
Combat easily goes to Shay, he quite literally fought assassins, and has way more combat experience. And if you can count gameplay, which I will, Shay is much faster and stronger in direct combat, this can also be assisted with Shays better equipment. Gadgets is sort of debatable, Shay has a Grenade Launcher. Weapons goes to Arno, he can carry almost any type of weapon.
@@Fastvz that's why you do something else beside of laying their waiting plus shay can fought enemies with poison and navy combat plus he was quick enough to get the anadote for the poison
Shay Cormac is responsible for Arno's fathers death. They should have made a sequal game or dlc of Arno hunting Shay for revenge on his fathers assassination. That would have been awesome
The only person who knows shay killed him, is shay. Thats the problem. The french assassins never even knew he was there so theres no logical explanation for how Arno would find out
Arno deserves weapons, he has the Sword of Eden. He hits Shay 3 times and Shay is blinded. Not to mention he’s one of the greatest duelist’s in the franchise.
We had Shay, Arno, Connor and Aveline all alive in the same time period and Ubisoft did NOTHING with it, after Dead Kings we could have got an Arno sequel where he tracks Shay down to the colonies to reclaim it from Conner after he takes out the French brotherhood, Arno follows him and by the time he gets there Shay has already got a pretty good foothold against Connor as his recruits and elite assassins are spread across America on missions, we would have got to see an older, wiser conner (maybe even with his daughter) and I like to think Shay and Connor are at least aware of each others characters (maybe conner finds some old writings about Achilies' regrets, shay being one of them) he requests a sit down, Aveline and Conner with a few assassins, Shay with his templars, a peace cant be reached but a mutual respect is formed and both sides agree to leave without a fight. Vengeful Arno comes from France, ends up becoming a part of Connors brotherhood and learning to temper his rage and lust for vengece that almost Consumed Connor, and to be a little optimistic, maybe Shay gets disillusioned with the templars and after being beaten, when Arno gives him a chance to yield he does, and he lives out the rest of his life a nomad, neither assassin nor templar since he was once both, or he reforms the templars for a period of time until his death, and then eventually it comes undone again to still fit canon. Shay always struck me as a man who's morals came before any order or creed so im pretty sure that if they decided to wrap up the stories they could have done it well. Wasted opportunity...anyways sorry for the long aaaa comment 😅😂
You can count the people who can kill Shay in the series on one hand. Man's got luck on his side, no matter what you throw against him, he will always make his own luck. An incredible and unfair feat. But who said fights are always fair? During his lifetime, only Connor would be a seriously deadly threat, but they never met.
If they faced each other, Arno would win the battle for the simple fact of being younger than Shay, since being younger he has more strength and better health.
@Karu_o_o, so does many other assassins and shay would just lead a trap for Arno to get just like Jacob in Jack. The ripper shay can just use his girlfriend to get him or hunt him down like his father
I hope we get an Arno vs Shay battle, at least in the form of a novelization. Shay would probably lose because of old age, but could give Arno a hard time with different strategies
Shay would destroy Arno. I'll give arno a chance because he's so damn fast and his fighting style is so different to anything Shay has ever encountered. But Shay is a machine that cannot be stopped. The only assassins I think would win are Altair, Ezio, Connor and Edward. And maybe Bayek and Basim could walk away alive but they wouldn't win.
Imagine Arno & Connor vs Shay & Haytham (all Prime and no holding back) Edit: As much as i love Assassins like Ezio & Altair as characters and skilled warriors i think that Arno & Connor would be stomped by Shay & Haytham (Prime, no holding back). Maybe lore wise if Arno and Connor being in their early 30s Hunted down Shay in his mid 60s somewhere in Europe and team up against him 2 vs 1 maybe they would win. But yet again Shay would go down like a f'ing BEAST. Also 2 master assassins vs 1 master Templar is not a fair fight. Especially if Shay have Arno's and Connor's years combined. Either way Shay one-on-one situation i believe he would lose only to Ezio and Altair.

Mature Arno is one of the characters who comes closest to being the perfect assassin. Shay may have been stronger when Arno was starting as an assassin, but Arno at his peak is clearly out of Shay's reach
Assassin's Creed: Retribution Arno and Connor team up to stop Shay during the Napoleonic Wars and War of 1812. Arno works for the British and commands a ship, while Connor and Arno each have one. Game spans Napoleonic Europe and Washington D.C. during its fall to the British. While they suceed in bringing down Shay, the British win the war and we see the rise of a man named Starrick, the father of Crawford Starrick.
Shay literally hunts down Assassins, casually kills assassins, and the only person shown to counter every type of takedown whether it’s from the above, below, or on the ground so Shay wins by default
Shay would destroy Arno. Arno is faster but it is hard to do anything when you out of no wear get a sleep dart in you back and then it is just night i night forever.
Closer to the mid seventies, I wonder if he could still stop being assassinated at that age or if he's still got it, I mean that he can interpret an assassination attempt on himself mid air and From every direction.
Arnos kills were all mostly older men who couldn’t compare to him. Yes he beat his mentor but he was far from his prime when he fought Arno. Shay on the other hand destroyed the entire Colonial Brotherhood, killed Adewale, beat Liam in a fight (someone who was closer to his age and in his prime). Arno loses this fight, sorry to say
Add to that...shay has a high reason he lives for (no matter how he does it) And not fighting for his templar girlfriend. Arno is the most ridiculous protagonist in the franchise.
Shay Patrick Cormac and Arno Dorian, each from their respective Assassin's Creed games, showcase the rich diversity of the series' characters. Shay's transformation from Assassin to Templar is a thought-provoking exploration of ideology, while Arno's journey in the midst of the French Revolution is a testament to personal growth. Both characters contribute to the depth and complexity that make the Assassin's Creed universe so captivating.
Shay actually has a slightly higher number of Gadgets and Tools on the selection screen compared to Arno, and can carry a higher number of them with full crafting upgrades. In primary tool terms EXCLUDING GUN, Arno has: Poison Gas Smoke Bombs Cherry Bombs Phantom Blades (Can fire two without reload) Beserk Blades Stun Grenades Money Pouches (Bomb Version of Throw Money) Shay in tool terms EXCLUDING HIS GUNS (Pistols) has: Sleep Darts Beserk Darts Firecracker Darts (Essentially equivelent to Cherry Bombs) Sleep Grenades Beserk Grenades Shrapnel Grenades Rope Darts Smoke Bombs Throw Money [Technically] (Causes crowd distraction and is the decent equivelent to the Money Pouch tool in Unity) *Shay also has a gas mask which by game established logic will negate the smoke and poison gas bombs that Arno can use. Arno does not have a mask so he could be put to sleep and killed just like that even in active combat* *Again, Shay has a lot more capacity for all his consumables all around compared to Arno so he can use them more as he can carry 15 of Each Dart with longer durations from upgrades, 5 of Each Grenade with buffed AoE from upgrades, 15 Smoke Bombs, 30 Bullets etc.* Overall (and by technicality), Shay takes the win here in tool terms. P.S: Shay also has better hidden blades that CAN be used for combat and counter-kills, and Arno cannot use his for that from what we have seen. *Shay can't beat that 8 Round Capacity Glock that Arno can have tho*
They really need a game where Connor, Arno, and Shay meet. Connor has a bit of insight into the Templar mindset from his father and actually sees where he was coming from, especially years later after being able to ponder on it. Arno literally tried to create a “truce” between the Assassin’s and Templars, and even fell in love with Elise. Shay used to be an Assassin, and then changed to being a Templar, while still somewhat following his “morals” (He’s a “nice Templar”) If they all met and had a conversation, (kinda like Connor and Haytham, or Arno and the council) It would be one of the greatest crossovers.
Bro Shay ran across an exploding city while buildings were falling down on him and the floor was crumbling! Speed, Agility and Parkour go to hi, (I love Arno as a character tho)
They are two different type of assassins. Shay is a tank, like Connor. A brute that mostly relies on weapons and raw strength. He was an excellent tracker and a tough oponent. He was, mostly, really perseverant and tanked through almost every situation. Arno, on the other hand, is a Ghost, a true Assassin. Probably the stealthiest Assassin in the franchise. He's a darn prodigy at being an Assassin. Someone pointed out that Arno has a unique type of Eagle Vision that no other AC protagonist has, his Eagle Vision is able to accurately predict enemies movements and intentions, and even locate possible allies and weaknesses from afar. His Eagle Vision also allows him to track chemical trails in the air (he located Bellec this way). He's also a genius strategist, and a formidable fighter. He defeated Pierre Bellec, a Master Assassin with decades of fighting experience, even though Arno had only TWO years of training. Arno was the strongest Assassin in the French Brotherhood. All things considered, I think Arno would win, and Shay would not even see him coming.
