It's so funny how everybody slept on Lucky Luciano and at the end of the day he was the one who out fought and outlived every last one of them him and Meyer Lansky😂😂😂
In Jersey you've got degenerate gamblers with the stomach for it. In New York, where things actually matter, we can go weeks, even months without placing a bet.
Absolutely … left so much on the table, the stocks, the downfall, his actual death…. What a waste, easily could’ve made another few seasons just by finishing up storylines and characters tales, chalky, franciss, jimmies kid and step parent since we got a crappy death on half face…
@ceerious ya I watched his whole story. People say he didn't pay because he thought he was being cheated. Maybe that's why they didn't show his death because there's a couple of rumors out there reflecting how and who killed him. I don't know but they should've still showed us because nucky never got shot by Jimmy's son he died of old age I think in his 80's
Always bothered me that Rothstein always àcted like Nucky was the sole problem in their relationship when he started the bad blood himself. Nucky made a goodwill gesture selling him 500 crates that he wanted to keep himself. Rothstein then cheats Nucky out of 93k. In what world is he not the asshole?
So they just meet, strike a deal.. then Rothstein wins at Nuckys Casino so big that Nucky has to pay him to offload his OWN liquor. Bit of a boss move, but also bit of a dick move.
The life insurance on the Delesio brothers is friggin brilliant. Deal didn't work out so he made what he could with them sold them over to Nucky and made the insurance payout for the policies.
Its crazy how Meyer knew what Luciano and others were talking about in Italian but didn't say a word and the same with Luciano with Jewish mobsters and etc speaking Yiddish. Both knew each other's language.
Yes without a doubt. You see I know how to speak Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, Russian fluently and Japanese more so. Many people tell me to not let people know I know. @@ceerious
@@elmerofairo I was wondering that also truthfully. But I think it's pretty obvious they picked up on words and many knew each other language fluently growing up close to each other's groups
They really did a great job of showing Rothstein's story, but it was the worst decision to kill him off screen. They took such a great story and character, and then just slapped you in the face... great video, sir!
But AR died before Joe the boss and Sal M. Then Lucky and Meyer had both of them killed. Then the 5 families were formed. What they screwed us on was not showing his death scene. They should've made at least 2 more seasons
Ceerious, I believe you know mr. Borko. And perhaps you also know, though it is of course news to me, that a channel you operate is located in territory that mr. Borko considers to be his.
Ceeriously, a great and time-consuming effort. Michael Stuhlbarg did a brilliant job of bringing Rothstein to multi-faceted life. He’s a great character. ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ like so many other contenders for ‘The Sopranos’ crown as the greatest of all-time, couldn’t stick the landing. The final season sucked! If they had interspersed the flashback sequences of young Nucky throughout the series (the way The Sopranos did) it would have been very effective. But, to turn almost the entire final season over to young Nucky flashbacks was a fatal error. Then, they compounded the error by bringing back Gillian. Of all the contenders for the title of GOAT, only ‘The Sopranos’ delivered brilliant seasons for the entire run, with the exception of ‘Deadwood,’ which was stupidly cancelled after only 3 seasons, and ‘Bosch’ which, whilst excellent, is not in ‘The Sopranos’ league. I have rewatched ‘Boardwalk’ several times and I just skip the final season.
One minor point (I don't consider this a negative for the show) is that you get the impression Rothstein was a major bootlegger when he really was only involved in the business for a couple of years before divesting. I believe he saw it as too violent and dangerous a business, which it was tbh. I would've liked to have seen that addressed in the show, it would've added even more depth to one of the better characters. Divesting from bootlegging is something that basically no gangster did because of the profits, it's really a standout move by him
thank you. Van Alden would be extremely tough. Rothstein had about 400 lines. Van Alden has about 1200. this was originally over 2 hours. Van Alden would be 6-7 hours lol. itd take me months
@@ceerious really? lol I didn't think he had that many. I knew had a good bit, but not that many. So, I'm guessing it would still be long even if it was just the story of him becoming involved with Capone? Just the "Mueller Story?"
@@eddykade3207I can do Mueller but cutout alot with his maid/wife and focus on him and O'Banion and than him and Capone. Capone had 800 lines so thats about 4 hours but Mueller wasnt in every scene with him.
My most anticipated stories for every show you upload: Sopranos: Adriana La Cerva, Silvio Dante The Wire: Christopher Partlow, Tommy Carcetti Boardwalk: Nelson Van Alden or Jimmy Darmody. Loving the uploads recently. Have watched all your videos. Keep it up!
Meyer was the brains in that duo of Lucky and Meyer. He was a better Arnold Rothstien in a sense. Lucky and Meyer both passed from natural causes. They survived it all.
@@ceerious it was said that they could actually finish each other's sentences. No better duo imo in mafia history. They were both genius except Lucky did do time where Meyer never did. But yes you're right they needed each other. They never went against each other despite a couple arguments on Boardwalk Empire
One scene with Arnold Rothstein I like how it shows how it all actually worked back then those colors they are actually quite comfortable in the past actually people like to believe they were like uncomfortable but they really weren't actually they were really itchy quite comfortable actually I don't really like how he showed how you know how to tie a bow tie not many people can say they know how to tie a bow tie nowadays I love that
My favorite scene is the one around 1:06:34. Rothstein looks up slightly when Gyp mentions his hotel room…do business or just get rid of an annoyance, you can see the wheels turning in his head.
I always found it slightly jarring that a crime boss would announce his personal hideout in an external meeting with rival crime bosses. But I suppose Gyp was more of an attack dog than a strategist
@@osman732 good point, information like that getting revealed is probably why Nucky and Arnold did their business behind closed door offices and they dealt with people one on one
Oh man I have been waiting for this video and I knew it would come. As someone who loves rewatching hbo shows through yt clips your channel is the best.
I love the part when Myer and Lucky are being taxed on the card game and paying out 2,000 to Joe the Boss. Charlie starts to loose it and AR says Charlie and shakes his head no. As in don’t start now, it’s not going to end well for you. And Lucky listens.
It sux that AR wasn’t written out properly and given a scene where he’s killed off, one minute he’s there next we hear Mayer say he last saw Nux at ARs funeral
Again, my friends & I agree that Boardwalk Empire is the true Sopranos prequel. Also, Michael Stuhlbarg always shows up in anything he's in from this series to Shape of Water to Men in Black 3. The man puts in work.
I know. I was drawing parallels between Nucky's actor and what Rosetti said about Nucky and being conquered by Italians. Nucky wasn't even as big as he was portrayed in the series. He was a Bootlegger and his backstory about being the Sheriff and etc was real but the vast majority of his killings and etc at his own hands and all the escapades were faked or over-embellished. Nucky Johnson did die of old age in there 1960s @@ceerious
with 3 more seasons? i believe it would of been. Was Gandolfini my favorite actor out of them all? yes also. don't forget this show had alot of Sopranos actors AND Michael K Williams.
Mine was AR as well (Besides Nucky) Buscemi is so good. They were like frick and frack in this show. The fighting with words are so powerful and clever. Gosh amazing dialogue.
- ceerious... - what about him? - he has become a top fucking uploader, posting with two hands ever since he was back from Miami. - Are you fucking with me? - Forget about it... Bottom-line, he was a borko that everybody loves him, right? You know why? Because he never watches crime movies alone, capish? It has been the longest time of quality in the RU-vid sopranos/boardwalk empire compilation history. He is a...capable uploader, and all his subscribers love him for that. - is that the one that RU-vid copyrights strike in the back? - No it was borko, the one with telenovelas obsession. Im talking about ceerious, he shares his over 1 hour long compilations. - i heard it 3 times, what is your fucking point. - hey you remember once we watched Boardwalk, we were seeing a bunch of great characters? And i said why dont we make a compilation about this creeping dentist with an ether? Ceerious said why dont we make them all? -hehe, he said that? Okay i got your point... Ceeriously, I cant appreciate enough what you are doing. God bless you! Enjoy every bit of your work!
I subscribed to both. Thank you for this compilation. I don't know enough about algorithms, maybe because it's so long it doesn't suggest it like others? Whatever hit you took to do it, much appreciated.
Still took Rothstein having Joe pull his men away to make that work. All the other people went back to New York so no way Richard could’ve done that if they were still there .
