You laugh at the whistle as much as you like, but almost every train here in Switzerland has one of those, even the big ones. And if you're near them, they make you jump like nothing else. Trust me on this. 😂
bigbenhkg Yeah! Even the locomotives ( WAP 5 and WAG 9 ) supplied by Switzerland to India ( in 1995 ) have these same weird horns. I actually kind of like these horns.
I have been on that train a couple of times when I went skiing, a beautiful journey. Yes, there is a road but it has 365 turns one of the reasons why there are no coach buses up there
Oh Squirrel! You do make me giggle. That must be the best pronunciation of Chur I have ever heard in my life. Brilliant! Your videos make me smile. I can watch them for hours :)
I went on holiday to Switzerland and we got on a train and did that exact same route! The trains were probably the same also. Brought back alot of memories; of fog.
Heyho Guy from Switzerland here :D I kindly recommend you to visit chur and arosa once in your life. The track from the game seems perfectly done to the reallife one. The trainstations and everything look like exactly the same. I've been on the track and it was just AMAZING woth the view and ambiente around the track. Like you said, it takes about 1 to 1.5h to get from chur up to arosa. But not every train operating there is an Allega.... Keep up the good work and research Squirrel and if you need the pronounciation of the Stops just tell us Swissguys 😉😉💪🏼
I live in Switzerland have been on this line before, very accurately done DLC. Although I would not recommend taking this line during skiing season as Arosa is a very popular skiing destination and the train is filled with skiers.
Well, what'd you expect when it comes to quality from us Swiss? :P You spelled Litzirüti pretty well actually, except that it's a soft R. Chur on the other hand...
And I love the combination of transporting the people but also cargo! It's like "Oh yeah and while you're on the way down, can you just take those wagons down to the city?"
When you use that wistle, make sure the Psycho shower scene music is going. Or maybe it's just Murder on the Allegra express lol Jokes aside, by description, this train/line is almost a tram-like thing, sharing the road with vehicles and stops on request
Those mountain houses are normally hotels for skiers, holiday houses or houses for school trips in the Czech republic. I am pretty sure almost no one lives there
If you'd like to try something with a really high grade of realism, you should try Zusi 3. Unfortunately, It's only available in German, but it is really realistic, features proper train controls, physics, signalling and safety systems. I'm a train driver in Switzerland (at SBB) and to me, no other simulation, not even our professional simulators, come close to Zusi 3. Let me know if you'd like to try it and need help with translations. And if you ever happen to visit Switzerland, just hit me up, I'd love to show you around on my job, if you'd like.
Squirrel Once you know how the sim works, language is no excuse anymore ;-) the (very detailed) documentation is written in German, however, you'd mainly need to understand the signalling. The major part of the document is about building routes, trains etc. To be honest, the sim takes a bit of dedication to understand every aspect.
You seem to do well, at least better than most, with what's left in German from OMSI. If the OP helps with some rough translation I'm sure you could pick it up! Would be cool to watch you play a high-end train sim!
OP is here and ready if needed. I could help you out with the basics, the rest of the sim kinda explains itself. And after the safety systems take you down a few times, you'll get used to the rules and regulatories. ;-)
+eMMjunaYschion Hey sorry to revive this post but do you happen to know whether SBB trains are available for Zusi 3? I was considering picking it up but I'd only be familiar with swiss trains and routes, not so much german ones
If you'll ever come to switzerland you'll have to take a ride on one of those routes with RhB. It's such a beauty. And relaxing =) The Landwasserviadukt goes straight into a tunnel so it wasn't the first one illumnated. Btw you spelled Litzirüti pretty damn accurate ;) (And no, the whistle doesn't sound exactly like this one. It's the same height but sounds more like a actual whistle^^)
Paul, last time i was on one of these u couldn't see through the cockpit, there are blinds witch the train driver closes, sorry for ruining it for you. Greetings from Switzerland, even within 50km of that line
You took your time to film this.... and the city is pronounced k er it's not ch it's k but it's spelt Chur. Edit: the whistle is accurate and there is not much in Arosa I've been and the max time I've spent there in one go is 2hrs so it's a nice day out for the train but there isn't really anything to do in Arosa.
At the first platform did you even stop at the platform? Normally a platform isnt that thin and there is no way for passengers to get from the main platform to you without walking on the tracks.
