Great review. I enjoy this dram a lot and it was cool to see you compare it to the older bottling.

Great stuff. I was very curious about this comparison as I have a sample of the old ten from a bottle I had but don’t have a bottle of the new ten. Need to get one at some point and do the same thing. Cheers!

It's always a lot of fun, and luckily you can still find bottles of the older 10 collecting dust in shops. Enjoy!

I happen to have both bottles and your description is really accurate regarding taste and spirit/cask opinions on both versions. Great review! 🥃

I have tasted both too, and love them....i dont mind a sharp "peppery" note on the pallet, i actually enjoy that burst....there is a diffrence in them on the pallet, but it is not enough for me to put one above the other....i give them both 3,9 on a scale of 1 to 5. Great Whisk(e)y

Love this video. I wish I had an older Arran just for myself to do the same thing. Thanks for your thoughts. Cheers!

Just bought the older version and it is fantastic. If the new version is better it will blow me away. At the present time I cannot find the new version but again, the older version is wonderful

Wow nice find! Save a sample in case you come across the new one and you can compare the two

Great idea! Especially since it confirms me in my expectations ;) I really did not like the old 10y because I found it too light, too citrusy and too vanilla-ish. To such a degree that I stayed away from Arran for a long time after other reviewers started praising them. I have since had several of the new bottlings and really like them.

Wow interesting! It is fascinating to taste how expressions change over time, especially when for the better!

Sounds like 2 of the older bottles is sufficient and I should actually try the new one. The local distributor unloaded some old quarter casks, Machrie Moor 46% and Lochreanza reserve 43% so there is Arran on the shelf. In the beginning.....the Arran 10 was amazing. It really kick started my journey into exclusively integrity bottles. So it's been a while since I had it in my glass. Great review, I remember the sweet malt character and the spice. I found an old 18 this past winter and that's truly a bourbon/sherry beauty. Everything is in there. I paid $150 but I see a few left for $125. I can do the new 10 for less then $60 and sadly the Ardbeg10 is also creeping up to $60. I would love to ...but with all the hype and praise and awards I'm bucking the trend and not having this on my bar. No particular reason. I'm more curious about the price of the 18 when that finally appears on the shelf.

I was able to land an old bottling of the 18 too and am going to do a review similar to this comparing it with the new one, but they are very different in style unlike the 10.s. Old QC's are a gem too. Slainte, Jack, hope all is well in mighty NYC!
