You sold it. I've been wondering over all the Arran offerings here and you lined it out with the comparison to the 10 y.o. I gotta have the apple pie.

I really like the 10 (so much that I just got a replacement bottle for when my current one is over)... but sipping it one of these days it definitely felt a little too light on the palate lacking a little oomph and a very short finish (crazy how our palate evolves when you really begin exploring different whiskies). Which is fine, it's why I love this (along with Glencadam 10) as my warm weather go to dram. Cheers!

I just bought arran barrel reserve. We will see if i like it i might get this too. Price seems to be fair and it sounds like good dram ❤ thanks for the review

Enjoyed the cask explanation its good to refresh my brain cells. The Quarter cask if my go to from the Arran range I love it.

Awesome review Erik and great info with the casks! We did an Arran night with our whisky club and The Bothy came out on top in front of the port, amarone, bodega, 10 and barrel reserve. Cheers!

My onest favorite distilery Arran ) I like port cask and sherry cask .Good review Erik ,like ! Cheers !

Great review, Erik. This is a high proof Scotch that is definitely improved by adding water...a lot of water compared to what I normally add to my Cask Strength whiskys. Arran is making great stuff.

I highly doubt it but did you get by any chance sherry cask influence in here? I'm trying to avoid even the slightest sherry cask influence in my drams these days, and having a little hard time sipping away their 10 year old bottle. When there seems to be no source that I can find specifying what these quarter casks previously held (or even, virgin casks), I'm not so sure about grabbing a bottle of Quarter Cask. Thank you for your review!
