I firmly believe that dumpster diving should not be an arrestable offense!!! They’re already tossing everything and throwing it away it so it should be as good as considered gone!!! Someone should be able to use it and if the stores were smarter they would actually make donations!!!
Some people aren't very careful and NEAT. They throw the trash all out on the ground😡 Not everyone Is curious and keep it clean. Also people RETURN some new items for money.

I had a officer pull up on me the other day, he just asked what I was doing, told him looking for scrap metal. He told me keep it safe and rolled on. Super cool and nice. You guys stay safe.
Yes thats what real cops do but some people cops whant to feel important powerfull with there batch thats what it is i whant to be a cop but this kind of people ashamed me if i would have him as a partner i would adviced him or stop him from aresting people just because he fills like it or maybe anbarazed him as a cop not cool

I used to do this only once I ran into a douchebag cop and he couldn’t find anything to get me on so he left after the id hassle you really have to be a loser to mess with someone recycling stuff from the trash

Do your research by asking your state city/town official, law enforcement, or about the rules. If, the dumpster is locked or locked behind a gate, the camera, or has trespassing signs. Do not enter, that could lead to arrest.
It's great that you do video everything you do and you probably know that recording what you're doing prevents you from being arrested off of suspicions like this night. I hope you listened to your viewers and donated the left feet shoes to the veterans who only have one foot.
FYI...all the resellers are telling people this...Daughter wife and mother o Soldiers and Marines...when a military member loses a leg they get a fake leg..with a "foot" the same size as the one they still have...they buy pairs of shoes. The only time they only wear one shoe is when they are in their chair, without their prostetic on for a break... That said...I always look for one shoe for myself...I wear a 5 on the left and a 6 on the right...finding pairs like that...not easy...
I'm in my late 60s and have recently started going through bins etc. I recycle so much stuff it is unbelievable. I am convinced that the people who do this are making a valuable contribution to the state of our earth. And even without that, who are they harming? What is the problem? Our governments talk plenty about recycling, but then send millions of tons of rubbish to third world countries to be buried in landfill. Sometimes I feel as though I am trying to save the world one plastic bag at a time. I know what I do is hopeless, but I do it for my own peace of mind.

These people are some of the stupidest people I ever seen in my life volunteer in so much fucking information talking too damn much do your driver license and registration and keep your damn mouth shut. when you find mismatched shoes like that, contact the doctors that do prosthetics. my stepmom hates buying shoes because she only needs the right one. she is the one that told me about contacting doctors for those patients that only need a new shoe for their good food. usually its too much of a hassle to take them off the prosthetic foot
Another thing is if he waits and checks the same dumpster periodically he might find the other match to the missing shoes. The stores did that till the had their dumpsters replaced with locked compatibles. Most retail stores have them where I live to “stop people from returning them”... all kids need to listen “ not all drugs are bad but cocaine and heroin are bad for okay”

I work at a food Distribution center, Often, pallets of cases of produce get tossed in dumpster by Truckers that need to get it off trk. And D.c. doesn't want it. So we jockeys r allowed to take what we can to break room for our drivers n employees. SCORE !
I remember my good ol dumpster diving days...me and my friend used to love doing that..it was like treasure hunting..😸. I loved going to the Good will dumpster..Some of the things we found was unreal...My friend passed away but we had to stop because of the police..that sucked..I don't understand why it's such a crime especially since we never made a mess...In New Orleans people can get away with doing some really stupid things but dumpster diving is illegal...Go figure???

You guys disgust me. I've seen 7 of your videos and all you do is pick out the junk food and leave the good fresh food in the dumpster. I take it home, wash it and feed it to my family and donate it to food shares just like your doing in this video.

My boyfriend worked in a large shoe store for awhile, and he said that people would come in and try on shoes, and buy one in one size, and the other in another. Then they would take the box to checkout and buy them like that. He said that he thinks people did that so much because a lot of people do actually have 2 different sized feet, and instead of buying 2 sets of shoes to accommodate them, they did it that way instead. He said that they were frequently throwing out single shoes that they would find snuck into other boxes.
It seems like the Valentine's items would have been great to donate to a school … to a nursing home … to the children's ward of a hospital … ugh! - sooooo many places that decorate for every holiday to cheer it up!
We Donate our ONE SHOE FINDS to an Amputee Charity. Lots of Veterans and others are in need and it sucks to have to BUY 2 shoes when you only need one.

Long story! If I had a way of taking the larger stuff or multiple items when dumpster diving, I would. When I found out that grocery store was closing, I got to go 3 times and found a good amount of stuff, on the last day I was able to go, the dumpster was filled with lots of TV dinners from cheaper to Hungry Man, I did take alot, although had I been able to take more I would have. My house is 4 rooms, 5 if you count the hallway and its separated by 2 connected lines, the kitchen, bathroom and hallway are on one line, while the living room and bedroom on the other line. I come close to burning the house down cause of this fact when I put 2 heaters on the same line and overloaded the electricity and it even put my refrigerator out of commission for about a week to get the cord replaced and that was not fun. I would like to have the electrical upgraded to brand new wiring with multiple connections from the breaker box, so that will never happen again, just no money. Cause of this fact I can not heat the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and even the hallway, I choose to do it this way in hopes my dogs will stay warm, yet those drafty holes in their room make it hard to keep it warm, so if you are a praying person, pray that GOD intercedes, one day I may just want to leave if that's GODs plan, I would move if I could in a way, the noisy horns that pass through hurts my babies ears and they will wail in pain and if I had the money to buy or even rent a place that would accept dogs, I would consider moving, yet most rent houses I checked on, up to $600+, they also don't allow dogs and I get a total of $726 in social security. I probably could get a low income apartment, however most will not let you have large dogs, Charcoal and Mandy are Labradors and I do not want to get rid of them, someone threw them out like garbage and I can NOT bring myself to do that to them, they are my BABIES! I LOVE THEM TOO MUCH! I don't know what plans GOD has for us. I hope I can figure that out and move on if that was GODs plan. I wanted to stay in this house because it was my grandmas house, being it was historic I wanted to live here all my life, yet there is no stores close and I would have to bike up to 15 miles or more if I wanted or needed to go to town, it takes around 2 hours one way, 4 hours both directions and no bathroom stops unless you find a tree to hide behind and no real way of carrying dumpster finds or even purchases for that matter. Because I am so POOR, I don't even see a vehicle in my future and no way of driving. Things just happen that we can't explain that only GOD has the answers to. I would like to do better, much better than I am now. My life has crashed down on top of me, though I haven't suffocated yet, sometimes it feels like it, I HOPE GOD INTERCEDES SOON IN OUR LIVES! HOPE YOU HAVE A TRULY BLESSED DAY and NIGHT!

The shoe store I used to work for displayed only the right shoe and stored the left in the back to control theft. But...another shoe store in the mall only displayed the left shoe. So between the two stores, thieves would steal one from each store to get a pair which left a lot of single shoes.
You could donate the shoes to a veterans hospital or something like that for military people that are amputees you probably could find a website on the internet they would be most excited to get them
They probably take one shoe out of each shoe box and throw it loose in the dumpster then pack all the shoe boxes in the big boxes like that to confuse you so you won't take the time to try to find the mates. You should get a camper cover for the back of your truck so you can throw everything back there and nothing will fall out or at least rig some cattle guards and wrap it with tarp and make a gate above the tail gate.
They don’t bother doing things like that. People who wear two different shoes sizes will switch things out, so shoes stores end up with dozens of boxes of single shoes or they receive out just one shoe of each style for display and the display shoe eventually gets tossed.
New watcher! Love the channel. So for the unmatched shoes, I think I would likely match sets that were close enough. Like running shoes that were similar enough and the same size, then maybe use sharpies to dazzle them up a bit to make them match, so the fact they don't match becomes part of the design. Or just use them for anything that would get shoes really dirty, like... I dunno. Dumpster diving? Lol.

You guys were also very respectful of the officers that was a fabulous way to show how you act when confronted by the law, they were only doing their jobs and doing them well. You are very good role models for young people that may start doing the same. And Stacy, don't let anyone put you down for giggling, my brain responds the same way when I'm nervous. Donate the adult shoes to Wounded Warriors and the children's shoes to a children's hospital. They'd probably appreciate such a nice donation. Plus, you can write them off on your taxes! 😉
Wounded Warriors was what I tried. unfortunately the only office for them I could find was in AZ and i'm on the east coast. shipping would've been horrendous and I'm not a wealthy person. :(
If you email them it's very possible they will have a place near you that you can take to like a VA hospital or nonprofit organization that will get them to wounded warrior

Ray Waters yes, sometimes the old noggin won’t work. We just call ours the spider, usually with an expletive because it’s hooks get caught on everything and it is aggravating. But so great to have.

When you come across things like that large box of children's coat hangers, to donate them would mean allot to a mother who has to run from her home with her kids at weeee hours of the morning to get out of abusive homes. Having been one of those mothers, those clothes hangers would be priceless
This last time we went shoe shopping my son ended up with 2 different shoes but they were the same color and brand. We found it funny because not even the person who checked us out didn’t even notice. We live 3 hours away from where we bought them so it wasn’t easy to go and get the right ones. But my son loves them! Lol
As someone whose feet are different sizes, there are people out there who would purchase a single shoe. I haven't shopped for a long time, but there used to be websites where one could mix and match sizes. Worth a look.
Thanks to the law enforcement for understanding keeping our landfills low I'm very proud of your area. We have a problem with extream waste. We also have people with extream need . It worm's my heart to see the city and the people working together to make there town a better place.
I actually did get arrested and fined for dumpster diving and the guy was going to jail and throwing tons of stuff away and i went back later to see if there was any more stuff and bam basically a fine but did go to jail fingerprinted and had to walk home fn pigs

I deliver to a major chain of feed and hardware store and it always amazing the brand new stuff with tags that's throwed away every week in those dumpsters.
A lot of times one week they will throw out some shoes just like the left then the next week or so they throw out the other shoe. Amputees would be a good start. Stacey you have class cause I would have been melting down dealing with the police however the officers were very kind. Great video!
The exit signs reminds me of a dive in 2002 at a construction site. Found 8 regular and 14 nuclear powered exit signs, the guy doing the construction saw me digging and said to be careful, when he noticed I took the exit signs he gave me 16 more of them. Apparently they were hazardous waste but they still had 3 years left of official life and sold for a lot of money. Good times.

Jason Robinson Scrap with metal and things like that is even more important to tie down with straps. We ALWAYS do,and if we can’t strap it down safely we just don’t haul scrap until we can. That’s seriously unsafe.

WHat you got was a store closing, they have that wall with one shoe for display, then they go in the back for your size. You were lucky you found ANY matches! I got a whole case of fuzzy slippers out of Dollar tree, two years in a row, and this year I got an unopened CASE! I dumpster dive for a living Eastern NC! You can friend yardsale groups on facebook, and when you post one, you can check the boxes and it goes to all the ones you checked, you only have to list it once. What I do.Your German Sheppards are beautiful!

@FrancesBrown Dumpster Diving is very legal in NC and one of the best places to dive . It is only illegal if it has no tresspassing, and the store has to have it every 30ft of the store . If not, you can dive with no problems
That last comment for donating to Wounded Warriors is a wonderful idea. I was just going to suggest that a specific type ad aimed towards men and women not only missing a left or right leg, but also the many whos left and right foot are of two different sizes. My heart goes out to you in this video because it's so rude to arrest somebody for getting something out of the garbage that's already thrown away. There are hungry people who go grocery shopping in the dumpsters to keep food on the table. I wish something could be done about that because it's only food. Im sure they are needed someplace else besides watching the dumpsters.
