I (61M) smoke pot because it keeps my PTSD in check. It also suppresses my bad dreams and helps relieve body aches and pains. The "high" is just a side-effect. And no, I do not smoke it all the time. Only occasionally to alleviate symptoms.

See the thing is, yes but I’m a little bit more sympathetic because it was falsely advertised to him as ketamine therapy (a real thing) to target his anxiety and depression. And he struggled with addiction before and got clean. Then when he started his therapy he got hooked they decided to take advantage of him by ignoring this and sold him more. They literally charged him $50k for a vial that costed them $12. That’s evil and greedy. When ur hooked on something it’s not as easy to just stop cold turkey it’s a disease that causes people, not just Perry, to do anything to experience anything other than the pain they go through.

He was reintroduced to a "high" that he definitely felt from those infusions. The risk is too great for an active addiction to re-emerge. Ketamine is an acceptable alternative to ineffective SSRIs for people who are not addicts. The outcome confirms everything I'm saying --- he started to abuse Ketamine apart from the infusions --- his tolerance likely went up ---he od'd & now he's dead. Should we not expect that the doctor who prescribed the infusions to know what I just described & prevent it? "Uneducated & ignorant"? Ha!

Sound advice. This is where traditional Chinese medicine is different than Western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine would treat the root cause of the depression and anxiety. Western medicine would numb those feelings but never resolving the root cause.

Actually, death is rare. Ketamine quiets the amygdala part of the brain, which is responsible for the fight or flight response. Ketamine therapy in a therapeutic environment has proven to be a very effective treatment for people to remember and face trauma.

you'd be wrong. Someone providing illegal drugs is guilty of several crimes. He did use it for depression but it can be misused, it could have caused him to pass out and then drown. How you don't grasp that the dealer is also complicit is..... odd...

It's hard to say it was murder when someone knowingly took drugs, but there's also those who administer it, many often take advantage of addicts to make money. I get if Perry broke into a pharmacy or something like that, or even if the Dr. prescribed a dosage believed to be safe and though it was for the right reasons. But the other side of it being the junkiy's responsibility is that far too often people sell it to make money, and to people they know are highly addicted, instead of refusing to do so or trying to get them help,. Ultimately it's the responsibility of the person who died, and some dealers also go out of their way to push drugs on people who are actively trying to quit, or assure them it's safe when they know it isn't. It's hard to know what this situation was without further information. I don't think the penalty is as steep for outright murder, but what some of these people do to make money isn't OK either.
