If there's UK maps being developed for this, there needs to be a "level of piss smell" indicator on the HUD. Eventually, you get so sick of the smell of piss on the bus that the driver orders everyone off the bus or something.
If you enter the correct codes into the IBIS (Line and Route, Ziel will set it self automatically if you get the other two correct), then you don't need to use the in-game UI to set the matrix. Also, shadows are a frame rate killer.
And activate 'Load whole map at start' in the options menu. All tiles will already be loaded when the map becomes visible and therefore it will stop the game from freezing to load and your FPS will be a lot higher of course :)
Jakob Sharpe You might get a slightly lower average FPS, but at least you don't get those lagspikes anymore while the game struggles to load the tiles you're driving into.
Holding the foot brake is not just a Mercedes thing. Other buses require this as well and they also need to go in order and never from D to R - must go through N first. Guess how I found this out when learning to drive one...
It would be nice if they just sold this game to SCS... Currently its only pretty much 1 guy developping it. Its a game with great potential, but the terrible optimisation and last decade looking graphics do put me off a bit. Still enjoy playing it though, but it could be so much better.
I'm waiting for a sale. I'm not paying 38$ for a broken game .. even if it's the only good bus simulator out there. SCS could probably do an awesome job with a City Bus Simulator :)

It doesn't matter who published the game, what matters is who develops it and if there was a bigger and better company with more experience at least involved in the process the game could meet its potential, instead of being an overpriced eternal beta...
Its fun how busses its diferent here on my country. Most of the buses use manual gearbox ( even the new ones ), and we also don't have station brake, we only have parking brake, another thing. The driver need to drive and give tickets to everyone and give them exchange. Here we don't have tickets, you pay for the driver when you enter the bus, but if you don't want to use money, you can use a card ( like a credit card ) that you can use and the driver here only drive the bus, there is another guy who take care of the money and the cards.
Squirrel after you set your line and route on the IBIS computer, you don't actually have to go that gui to set your line and route again, its already set and the things on the bus automaticaly update when you do your IBIS stuff
Despite my reason for using RU-vid is for music, watching one of your videos every now and then makes my day. Especially this one because I've started playing this game a lot and now this map will be taking up my weekend :)
Such a wonderful mod. Apart from the wrong side of the road thing it's really quite realistic and accurate. And it's just a mod! Really awesome. Only thing negative that I could mention is that I remember Arriva busses to be much more skanky and smoggy than your nice clean machine =p Recently lost my PC to a massive HDD error so as and when I get a replacement will have to look into this :)
Hey Squirrel, you definitively should try Morphis Soundpack for the Citaro - the sound is much more realistic (you can find it on the official forum). Cause you´ve the O305 Add-On I highly recommend Perotinus buses (MB O307, MAN ÜL and (soon) MB O407) so for the next video maybe some challenging with the MAN ÜL manual transmission on map Tettau (bavarian interurban map)? :D
I was waiting for the NPCs to speak German. Something I noticed watching OMSI, do pedestrians waiting at the bus stop wave down bus, as I have not seen that animation instead of the rather subtle walk a few steps towards the kerb. Since bus stops usually cater to multiple routes, and at least in countries I've been to, you need to wave down buses.
Just a tip if u want to play a map with a bus from a different map let's say Chicago city bus D40lf u take the .hof file from that map and copy it over to the Chicago city bus folder and now u can play it in that map like this one squirrel is playing on File path to omsi 2 directory C:/program files(x86)/ steam/steamapps/common/omsi2 Then go to the vehicles folder and do as I said to play a bus with another map
Play Projekt Sczecin , its a Polish map , and according to 90 % of omsi players , its the best and most realistic, also all roads are real , but 1 route is just 80% real
id love to get into this game if it was easier to play. its mind boggling. just getting the bus to start is a task. then you need to learn how to set up a route. but the bus is awesome. ive had a go and the bus feels great. you have a great view up front and you really feel like your driving the bus. and the sound effects are great. its a shame its so difficult. id love to get into it. but its hard work.
You need to update your IBIS computer after every stop, otherwise it will show you as being behind because it doesn't think you've reached that stop yet.
Bit odd this map had right-side traffic but I guess there's not much you can do with a german bus simulator. Would like to see proper left-side traffic and RHD busses. By the way no, I'm not British and I actually live in a country with right traffic and LHD but I like games being as near to IRL as possible.
The devkit for a map with left traffic and RHD exists, but the developers of this map and other British maps driving on the right (like Canterbury of Hertfordshire) have to implement it into their maps. This will, of course, take very long as these British maps are always pretty big. If we're just patient the add-on map dev's will convert their maps to RHD and those updates will be here soon ;)
