Hi, we have a flight coming from JFK to Delhi and then a connecting flight to Bhopal. All flights are Air India. I have 2 hr layover. Do I have to get the luggage and do immigration in Delhi or I can collect the luggage directly in Bhopal. Please advice. Thank you.

Hello sir my flight is after Delhi to blr there’s a 1.25 hour gap.SO DO I have to take the baggage and again drop this or I will get straight to blr.is this time be enough catch a flight.luckily both flights are in t3

I've seen & experienced flights going to delhi are most of the time late, no matter where you board that flight from.

I was hoping to understand whether one has to get out of T3 building and get back in for the connecting flight or there are "transfer signs" inside the building, post customs, which can be followed to directly get into check-in area for your connecting flight. This is an important logistic content, aspecially for Delhi airport, which is notorious for outdated processes for transit passengers, connecting flight passengers etc as their physicall building plan does (or did) not support smooth transit or connections. Any inputs here?

To be honest these days its better to sit and eat outside than in a lounge as the lounge is more crowded XD

Hi. My flight is from Toronto to kolkata via New Delhi. If I do a through check in den do I need to collect my checked in baggages in Delhi? Or I can collect dem directly in kolkata ? I am traveling tomorrow so if I get a reply den it will be of great help

You need to collect your bags from nee delhi airport and then to drop off at transfer desk on arrival section.

Is it compulsory to get immigration in New Delhi ? Or you could have got it at Amritsar Airport ? Also why didn't you booked your luggage till Amritsar, when both of your flights were of Air India...

If you have layover at delhi then you will have to do immigration check and custom check at delhi.

Sir, thank you for the video. Three of us are traveling from SFO to Delhi in April with Qatar airway. From Delhi we would like to fly to Kolkata. How much total time should we allow between arrival at Delhi international,(COVID line, immigration etc) and then moving to Domestic terminal and subsequent security check in?

I think at least keep 3 hrs just in case there is traffic at security check.

Can you Please tell me, whether my luggage from Frankfurt will be passed to the Kolkata flight by the AIR INDIA itself or should I nedd to do that by myself. Because both of my flights are AIR INDIA under same PNR?

Dear Soham, please let me know also. Am planning to book ticket in airindia, from Bahrain to Kolkata, New Delhi layover is 1hr50min in it. Is it enough ? Did you go through customs at Delhi or Kolkata ? Did you book your luggage till Kolkata or had to claim at Delhi and then re-book till Kolkata ?

Dear Kunal, You need to collect your luggage at the Delhi airport to do the customs clearance of your own and you have to put it back for the Kolkata flight. Frankly speaking, whether you will be able to catch the next flight depends on the Delhi airport crowd. Normally the whole process takes not more than an hour. If you have the Ticket with the same PNR then the company is firstly obliged to at least fit you in the next flight otherwise it is their responsibility to make sure your journey and by any chance, if you missed your luggage they will for sure send it to your home within 2-3 business days. So always write phone number name and address on the luggage. I did customs once on my way to Frankfurt from Delhi. Hope this help.

Immigration is one floor down then arrivals. The LKO flight shall be at domestic departure for which you need to pass immigration and customs on same floor and then take second floor for domestic outside of international arrival section.

You don’t have to take PCR test if you already upload before departure from your international departure. You just pick up you baggage and go through customs abs then to domestic departure.

Yes you need to collect your baggage from New Delhi abs go through customs area to re-checking for Amritsar. There is normally no customs check in Amritsar but you can always asked by customs at any airport.

@@ashnachaudhary165 it depend on extra weight above 50lbs on each checking bag. Air India allow 2 check in bag without extra charge.

How many hours one need between International arrival and domestic departure both at Terminal 3

@@rahultorani2245 I think it should be good to keep gap of about 2-3 hours of layover. It takes time to pick your baggage from belt, go through custom area and then proceed to domestic check-in and then go to departure first floor and then security check and finally to your gate.

Thanks for your comment. Not much sure about Dubai. But arrival from USA you need PCR negative report within 72 hours of your departure flight. For arrival Mine was checked at the departure airport before issuing boarding pass and not checked in Nee Delhi. In regards to rate it was about $180 from USA.

T1 is a domestic airport section and T3 is mostly for international flights and some domestic traffic. T1 and T3 buildings are physically apart so you need a bus or a cab to travel between both. I hope this answer your questions.
