Honestly, after hearing about the sound designer working for Moog that blew a studio monitor playing with one of these, I’d rather put my “$40 amp” at risk testing it out of the box before moving it out of my living room and into the studio. #notasstupidasyouthink

I'm pretty sure your anxiety will melt away as soon as you turn it on and hear what it can do. Don't let the "experts" turn you off. To quote the letter from the Moog designers that you should get with your synth: "In the years that we've spent designing it, we have come to realize that we will never be able to uncover all of the possibilities that Moog One holds." Even they want to hear about your experiences, both positive and suggestions for improvements. It will be a long time before we will really understand its full potential. Mine received the latest firmware updates (on-site at Sweetwater) the day it shipped. I know that won't be the last. The future is mind blowing!

@@GetsemaniMusic I'm sure you are right! :) Most of my concern in with the potential excessive fan noise that some early owners have been reporting. I guess I'll find out soon.

@@seanchristophersynthesizer6999 The fans very noticeable when you first turn it on (when it's going through it's self tests) but I haven't heard a peek out of them once it's fully booted up.

That's actually normal - usually fan controllers give full PWM to the fans to ensure the tachs are working, then slow the fan down later to match the cooling needs of the device.

Thanks! This beast is designed for virtually unlimited expansion, and every firmware update adds new features. The back panel includes five 1/4" CV inputs, (CV IN 1 & 2, EXP 1 & 2 and SUSTAIN-- the two EXP pedal inputs can be configured to control nearly any parameter) and four CV outputs that can channel Gate, Pitch Wheel, Mod Wheel, Aftertouch, PAD X, PAD Y, PAD Pressure or PAD Gate. The current manual indicates that CV implementation will be greatly expanded in the coming weeks. Paul Haugen, thanks! It’s perplexing to me as well. No one ever really leaves constructive criticism. From experience I know people get bored after about 2 minutes so I try to focus my videos (with varying degrees of success 😉) to be short and focus on a single subject. I could spend the rest of my life producing videos on one Moog One alone. I can focus on an area of interest if someone requests something specific but other than that, I don’t have a crystal ball. Who knew I should profile hours of sound on an unboxing video! Thanks for your support and stay tuned!

@@GetsemaniMusic 1. It's probably the synth they don't like not you or your video. Many people aren't into this Moog and think it should have been much better sounding for the money. 2. Unboxing videos especially on very expensive gear often comes off as 'me first' showing off. It's the modern day version of polishing a Ferrari on the drive in front of people with Hondas. Nobody likes a show off. Just some reasons why people thumb down that have nothing to do with the channel or the quality of the video.

@@dbrent7995 - Yeah, I get it. People can be stupid, and jealous. My rationale for an unboxing video is that a lot of people are looking at this and wondering if they should shell out a huge investment based on a huge amount of hype. I'm not a music store and I'm not selling these, so I don't have any bias to making it look good. I'm here to reveal what's being delivered from the user's perspective, not from a salesman's perspective who gets a commission for every sale. From my point of view, I worked my ass off for 45 years (all with one company, starting out as an apprentice machinist) and finally have time to focus on my hobbies that I set aside for all those years. Nothing was ever handed to me. I've learned a lot by watching other people's demos, and now that I have a little more time, I'm trying to pay it forward. Anyone here looking for a rockstar performance is sure to be disappointed. But if you're looking for real demos and legit reactions, this might be the place to be. Am I excited to be one of the first owners of a Moog One? Absolutely! I worked my whole life to get to this point. I also put a lot of time and money in supporting my son who is trying to survive as a working musician (something I didn't have the courage to do myself.) This channel is a work in progress and is surely confusing and flawed. For that I make no apologies. That's how people learn.

Well, it's hard to say, but personally I like seeing some unboxing vids, it lets you know how the item is packed and some of the accessories that it comes with. The other day I was combing YT for unboxing vids of the Behringer D because somehow I mixed up it's power supply.. thank goodness there were a handful of videos where they got a few good shots of the power supply for me to identify mine lol.

this thing tunes itself every time you turn it on, how about instant start up and you can tune it up manually or take it in for service and have it done. put that in your pipe and smoke it!
