Answering questions from other video comments on how to put the proline badlands on the Big Rock v3 hot-racing.com/?partnumber=AT... www.prolineracing.com/tires/b...
I've seen a few vids of people using the V3 Granite tires on the Big Rock and most of the comments are they should have been on there from the start versus the Ragnaroks. Love the vid!
@@moerc I saw the link to the set from Amazon the only reason I asked. Since I'm not aware why is there a narrow and wide. Which goes where? Thanks again
wescat2 use the narrow, the wide is only if your running TRAXXAS stampede 2WD, which has a stock offset with the rear tires being wider stance than the fronts.
Sam, you and I are on the same wave length, I am test running the big rock right now with the hot racing 17mm hub adapter with 10mm offset with the dboot Katar tires that come on the Arrma talion. 18t pinion, 13t pinion and 15t. Running 4s. Will post a vid once I get the performing how we need it too!
Hey Moe what I think IncrediCad was saying is if you take the hub out of the wheel to put the extenders on it doesn’t work... the hole on wheel is bigger than the hub extender adapter.
Oh snap, well he must have bought the proline badlands with unremovable hexes? You should be able to unscrew the hex inserts on the wheels. The links in the description should lead to the correct parts I used.
Great vid! could have used this a week ago. What offset did you go with? I ended up going with some Duratrax STAKKERS and they look sweet and have great traction they're just not true and wobble alot but for the price I'm not complaining lol
TBH i cannot remember the offset. I have the packaging in my parts bin. Sorry man! I love the duratrax! they do look very nice for sure! Price is killer, you cant go wrong! Appreciate you being here!
Chad Damron much more stable with the badlands vs stock tires. The proline badlands, make a big difference with getting to top speed easier and under control. Especially, when going up to the 20t pinion. There is some ballooning with the badlands, but no where near the “knife edge” the stock tires ballon up too.
@@moerc yeah kinda just researching tires. I love the Big Rock but on the pavement it’s kinda all over the place at high speeds. Looking for just a little more stability.
Thanks mo I’ll try it on the next run I’ll be putting up the video tomorrow or Monday and you will see as it hangs mid air and lands on its roof thanks again 🙏👍
BuildingByFaith just my opinion, I would not put 3.8s on this rig just for clearance. Also, please note how wide they would be as well, this will reduce the ability to turn as the tires may be too wide. If you end up putting 3.8s on let me know how it goes! I have the 3.8 proline trenchers on the Arrma Notorious in other videos on my channel.
@@moerc 3.8's are big. I'm also finding it difficult to find them. I would also need to buy Proline's $47 17mm to 8x32 zero offset adapters, ouch, so I decided to put Traxxas Maxx wheels and tires on it. I'll let you know how it turns out. Can I send you pics?
@Moe RC good thought, but, according to Proline's website, the 3.8s need an 8x32 adapter and since I'm using a 17mm with a 10mm offset, I don't want to use an adapter with more offset.
@@moerc I was running zeee 5200mah 3s. Truck was bone stock (new like yours) and it was my 3rd time going out and playing in the dirt. Normally I'd run just two batteries for a session. It was great then it made some squealing and bam! Locked up. I posted in two fb groups and some ppl said its the bearings failing... im going to try and get a replacement motor from horizon.
Benjamin Shepard should be covered under warranty. Man, so sorry man and thanks for sharing this!!! Did you check the heat on the engine between batttery swaps?
Benjamin Shepard Running stock tires? Your right, heat sink and fan as well on motor, stock. Should be good, but you never know. running in dirt is tricky as hell sometimes because the throttle stays semi heavy for longer periods. Hope it all works out!! 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
The Badlands look like crap on the Big Rock. Ugly! The stock tires are fine for all types of bashing. I have no issue getting to top speed with the stock tires. I also added AVC with my Spektrum electronics. Cheap upgrade and makes top speed a snap.
Stock tires are not very good for loose dirt! No traction whatsoever. I ended up going with some Duratrax STAKKERS and It was night and day difference and they look sweet!
