Dear ARRMA - This week alone I bought the Big Rock, and the Granite. Next week, the Vendetta. ALL THANKS TO TOMLEY RC ‼️ He's honest, straight to the point, & tells you like it is- not just how he feels about it. He's the reason I buy your products!!
My Typhon 6S is true to the claims as well. I haven't used the high speed pinion yet, but I've gotten 68mph on the slow one. The box advertises the same 70+ mph as the Vendetta with the optional gear that's included.
@@LordPrometheous totally beside the point I know, but this goes the same speed as your 6s typhoon on 3s,imagine how fast this would go on 6s ( with different esc obviously)
Those Arma are very impressive, I think somepoint will have to get one. The way they drive and go straight and true is a sign of quality control and setup. Nice to see a manufacturer living up to their claims. Cool video
I have 3 Arrma's now, and they have been my favorite vehicles in over 30 years. If you run Traxxas, you will fall in love with Arrma. I have a 6s Kraton(destroys), a Felony 6s(absolutely shreds), and a Limitless V2 on the way
@@bradd145 BUT!!! You are missing out on 1 of the baddest RC's ever: the 3s Typhon! Stock wheels are excellent but after running them three or four times I moved to the 6s Typhon Wheels. The 6s Typhon wheels are excellent on road and off-road but once they lose their tread they become on road slicks that grip extremely well. I run a hobby Wing set up in mine and it does about 70 mph on 3s so I go between 2s and 3s. Absolutely in love with it on Road and off road but on the road I drop the suspension and lower it a little bit. Stock setup is extremely plush and tuned well as long as the shocks don't leak. There's tons of options now for upgradable shocks and for a few years now they've been using a better motor mount so the bearing issues from the past with 3s Motors are not as common. If you get bored with the setup you can turn it into a little 3s Truggy Typhon by widening The Stance or you can convert it to a Big rock crew cab or 4s Kraton. Both 3s on road rigs are awesome too! Don't get me wrong my favorite RC to jump ever is my 6s Typhon and I send that thing about 60 to 80 ft EASY but for bashing I like the 3s rigs better.
Yep as Phil says you'll love it, im thinking about getting one to add to my collection, got the Kraton 6s v4 and the Limitless v1 amongst some rare cars and theyre both amazing, but the Limitless is fantastic best rc purchase ive ever made, great for speedrunning, bashing or even drifting and ive had loads and loads of different models, got nearly 20 years experience and worked in my local hobby shop for years even done work experience there 😂 so go and get yourself an Arrma on road you wont regret it 👍😎😜
If Traxxas sued you would be the easiest win ever, you just show the jury the 2 boxes, you show them your videos comparing the two boxes, and the two car's performance... Jury has most entertaining court case ever , Craxxas loses. LOL.
My family has been spending a lot of money with Traxxas in the past, but a few months ago I bought an Infraction 6s and one of my sons bought an additional Infraction 6s and another bought the Vendetta. All I can say is we are absolutely hooked on these trucks and car. Arrma has done well.
I agree love the Armas outta the box just picked up a bigrock also because of your videos. Awesome truck added to collection. Remember it's not hoarding if it's anything R/C
@@TheCabledawg1 their penchant for petty lawsuits is the reason I won't own one. I broke a few years back and got a UDR, within a month I'd sold it for the Mojave. Best RC decision I've made. F*CK Traxxas.
AWSOME!!! Love these kind of comparison videos. I especially like it when you call out the manufacturer on its B S… or not, it’s still good to know when they do make good on there promises, like arrma. I would like to make a correction on a previous comment I made Traxxas (did not) include a second high speed 33T pinion gear with my Bandit VXL, that was my 4Tech VXL.
Unfortunately the new 2wd brushed vehicles come with a 2 in 1 esc/receiver.....I typically prefer arrma to traxxas but the xl-5 vehicles have better electronics than this 4x2 line. The mega line are some nice vehicles.... I'd take them over the xl-5 everytime.
@@highwaysanddrivewaysrc2002 most people fit there own esc and motor combo and change the receiver anyway. For those that want a base to mod saving money on parts they don’t want this is a good option with the boost range.
@@davemitch729 agreed there when it comes to upgrading although it's not all that much different than traxxas xl-5 lineup then. Also with that tower hobbies scratch and dent sale most of the mega line were only $150..... hard for anything to top that.
@@highwaysanddrivewaysrc2002 yeah that’s a great price if your in the US unfortunately the uk never gets such good deals we always end up paying so much more sadly. If you can get a mega for $150 then it’s a bargain to good to miss
I've overlooked these but after seeing this video I'd really like one. Although with the amount I've spent on RC lately if I mention it to the wife I'll be neutered!
Excellent review, Phil! I recently discovered your channel and I've been absolutely binging your content from the past couple years - love the channel and your approach to content creation. Cheers!
Very nice! That is probably one of the least likely RC cars I'll ever buy, but I do like watching it on video! I don't comment very often on your videos, but I really do enjoy them. All the best on your pro RU-vid adventure!
I love my Vendetta. It's a speed demon and an ultra-fun street basher. I really like this video because of that, but I love the premise of "I just like RCs and I like them to do what they say they'll do."
I loved my vendetta, i put a few upgrades in and had it running on a 6s max 8 combo. It was mental, ate a set of tyres eveey time i used it and pretty much exploded when i hit a kerb full pelt. No idea how fast it went as i was in between GPS systems - the vendetta certainly taught me a couple of lessons. 1 - have a GPS and a spare for Justin. 2. Film everything - if you are going to spectacularly crash, at least record it for posterity.
3 months of daily runs & Hoons Silver starting to show wear . 3 months of stock low 60 but last night new toy feeling wore off and speed pinion installed . More fun that i ever thought , Mr. Tom Lee rc. ( Utubes spelling )
Excellent work as usual Mr Tomley - your content is top notch and much appreciated. Well played on the criticism of your driving comment too - that was my favorite part !😮😝
I have a brushed infraction I've turned 3s BLX via the go bits from my Granite BLX and it's such a hoot. My ideal kind of driving around on flat dirt or pavement is drifting/powersliding and out of the box even on the puny brushed stuff, it's a complete blast. I'm in the process of setting it up with Hoons Elevens Silver wheels and a ProLine Mustang GT body. The Infraction BLX is the same as the vendetta BLX, I think it just has a different pinion and of course a different body. You could swap body posts and body and there you have it. It's absolutely a huge blast. It's even more fun on a loose flat dirt oval etc.
I had a vendetta for a about two weeks before I moved to the mountains and sold it cause i wasn’t going to have a good space to run it, but it was a blast when I had it. The thing rips stock and is a ton of fun driving on asphalt or slick concrete. If you’re looking for a first speed street basher I highly recommend this
Arrmas have looked good to me for a while; i'm thinking one will be my next purchase (eg next year)! I was leaning towards the Felony 6S, but this little Vendetta 3S looks awesome too (although, my biggest disagreement with you is the colour choice 😉 although blue looks good, it'd have to be the bright yellow one for me!)
I've seen so many vids of the Vendetta, and it took this long before I saw someone finally drift it around a bit like it's the 3s Infraction. It was making me wonder if it was only good for straight line passes. Thanks for showing its full potential!
I really loved this review. You did a magnificent job explaining the gear swap. All pinion gears should be made that way. Great show and pro driving. 🏆
Great video and rips with the Vendetta. I was so impressed with mine when I got it, I had to get another when I caught it on sale😀 The motor is 6S capable also haha
@@TomleyRC Drop in the Spektrum 150amp and give it rip... only speedrun tho slipper will strip if u bash🤪 Need to slightly adjust body and secure the rear wing from flapping and it's ready!
That dust rooster tail looks like real low/ground effect cars, excellent aero, stability and handling and design on this, I'll never even consider Traxxis if I get an RC car again one day!
Me also I have the 3s blx big rock the 4s outcast.. 3s vortex..the new groms and on order.. this one ! Need I say more.. love arrma oh i do have a few losi also also great
Don't have any Arrma cars as yet but fully plan too. I have no desire for anything in a Traxxas box..not sure why. Just not drawn to them. Love the channel dude, keep it up 👍
I love the tires on this car, they’re usable for probably over 20 runs. They will go bald after about 10 but if you’re just drifting around it doesn’t matter much, just don’t take it out in the wet.
I may have this hopelessly wrong, but the other day I'm sure I saw a mate plug and xt90 battery straight in to an arrma ec5 connection. It didn't look like it would fit but it was a perfect fit. I'm off to try it myself now on my big rock , so apologies if the comment is premature. Worth a look. Save a lot of soldering in future :)
Had one but had to sell it due to medical bills and being out of work (those problems due to this car paired with my stupidity actually) and I miss it the most out of all the cars I’ve sold. Had a nice spectrum charger and 2 batteries with it as well. Definitely getting another whenever I can.
When this car first came out I thought it was awesome looking! My LHS have them in stock. Arma should release a clear body for painting. I can think of a dozen or so liveries to use!! Nice video! 🤘
@@TomleyRC I dont really do speed run but dang she is a BLAST right outta the box. No camera tricks here either just a WHOLE LOT of ankle-bashing speed. 🤣👍🏽
Good video and constructive criticism against Traxxas. All Good. All fair. Hate all weird promises on boxes that never seems to be correct. Happy to see that Arrma keeps their statements.
I just pulled the trigger on one of these sick animals....There's nothing quite like it bar the Infraction which has an identical chassis and guts. But this thing just looks like a sexy beast, just like me
We just had the Horizon Hobby sale in the states, I bought 2 vendettas and one infraction mega that I made brushless with vendetta ESC and motor. Vendetta was 199, infraction mega 149.
When this first came out it reminded me only of lizards with it's crest. But seeing it track this quick and straight and actually seeing that blue color up close makes me like its lizardness.
Not something I can afford but I certainly can appreciate its a well thought out and put together car . Like the D shape keyway for the pinion , nice idea . Very nice piece of kit 👌 . Just needs the Batman logo lol
