I like your thinking paul.. 😎.. I appreciate your support and comments....👍.. no, I'm far from an engineer..🤣.. just a dumb mechanic that has a pretty good grasp on a few things..🤣🤣.. While the first thermal that ended in a crash had no body mods at all I can for sure rule out that instance..🤣.. It is possible the manufacturer did leave the rear open to combat under body temps.. but that being said, if there were issues with temps, the body opening in the rear is just a temporary solution to a permanent problem...😒.. in my opinion the 150a setup was never up to the task, it is on the ragged edge of amperage load/ thermal right out of the box.. The 160a setup fairs much better in these rigs, there have been several people complain about thermal cuts on the 150a rigs which actually surprised me... I figured that would have been sorted after the v1 infraction with the blx 185...🤔.. I think there is also another issue at play here that is often overlooked.. tire temps!.. they get blistering hot while drifting, which intern leaches all that heat into the underside of the body.. add that and steep amperage spikes and viola, instant oven..🤣🤣... I did test the rig with the body off and the current 20t pinion I'm running, it still thermals out..🤦‍♂️.. I'd hate to end up back at the 16t pinion...😒 The slow nature of drifting, and high motor loads/ amperage spikes seems like a recipe for disaster on the 150a setup.. I will be testing some different or more fans soon.. as long as the weather cooperates...🤣.. Thank you again for your support, and keep up that thinking, it's what makes the hobby better..😎👍✌

I’m not that good with these vehicles to swap out gears for top speed increase..,,, but I’m really hoping that when I get mine ... I can run it w stock from the factory pinion and not overheat .... we’ll have to see.... great response bro .... I appreciate your input....👍🇺🇸😎

@@pitbullrcltd6252 You should have no issues with the stock gearing, it may thermal on a very hot day but otherwise it should be pretty rock solid..👍.. They are awsome rigs, you will have a blast..😎..

I agree man.. the high speed drifting really sets it apart from other drift rigs.. it really is alot of fun..😎.. I just wish the esc was better..😒

@@camaroboy383 I am stupid. Correct me if I'm wrong. Won't putting in a 8s esc with the correct kv as the motor. Won't that correct the heating problem

The thermal does suck, but the worst part is when it thermals the caps it will default to coast and not apply brake.. 🤦‍♂️.. it basically boils down To these firma 150a esc's are just not good systems.. Alot of people switched to the 160a setups from the 8s and never had an issue again, even on 8s it doesnt get hot.... with the open wheel arch design and the rear window and complete rear of the body cut out I would assume there is plenty of air passing through.. Even with the top off It will still thermal..🤦‍♂️.. these systems are just not up for the task in my opinion...

It is man, it's a blast to rip around.. this firma 150a has been quite the let down..🤦‍♂️.. I figured a 20t would have been conservative enough to get through the packs... especially since it comes with a 27t as the optional pinion out of the box.. 😱🤦‍♂️.. I've never had so many issues with a esc.. horizon is kinda fighting me to replace it.. which sucks..😒 Love the rig, hate the esc..!

They should be on ebay in the next few day's.. I've had some health issues lately so I have not had time to make it happen.. a video update will be posted when I get them listed... 👍

They are getting there.. making molds for the headlight lenses at the moment..👍

I'm currently running 50k front, 500k center, and 50k rear.. The 30k front is to loose for my liking.. The power wheel (right side due to torsion), would wear faster opposed to the free wheel, the 50k helped with that a touch.. 👍
