I couldn’t decide between the two so I bought both. I only have 3 RCs. That’s enough for me. Traxxas Xmaxx, Maxx, Kraton 4S. Other then that I’m getting into drones.
I appreciate that your neighbors are chill and don't cause any issues. However, here in Southern California, people tend to get easily offended. For example, one of my neighbors called the police on me because they found my "electric" remote-controlled vehicle too loud, even though it was during the daytime.
I'm a certified Arrma fanboy but that doesn't mean I ignore facts.. and the fact is the Maxx is in the top 3 most durable trucks. If not #1. I'd still take a Kraton for pure driving enjoyment, but the Maxx is undefeated when it comes to beating the sht out of it.
I am exactly the same as you and completely agree. After 3 years of owning Arrma and Traxxas, I have gotten rid of every Traxxas with the exceptions being the v2 Traxxas Maxx and Trx4. The rest of my fleet consists of all Arrma 6s vechiles and an Axial scx6. The Maxx, in my opinion is the only vechile that Traxxas got right in terms of the way it drives. One of the many reasons I like Arrma 6s and 8s vechiles is because of the excellent throttle control at all speeds that the Spektrum esc/motor provides. The Traxxas Maxx also offers this whereas the other Traxxas 3s, 6s and 8s vechiles do not. Just try driving a Maxx/Slash or 3s Slash or Sledge at slower speeds and see where that gets you. They cannot operate when driven like that. They will cog and surge like there is no tomorrow and that literally drives me crazy. When vechiles perform like that it means they were not calibrated properly during manufacturing. Either that or they are being asked to do more than they are capable of. Not the case with the Maxx or any of Arrma's 6s or 8s lineups. In terms of the 4s Arrma vechiles, the 4s Mojave I found drove very similar to the 3s Slash in that it also had throttle control issues at slower speeds. As a result, I traded it for a 6s Mojave and never looked back. Yes, I lost money on the deal and that annoyed me but not as much as driving something that does not work properly.
@XWXW-lk4jf yeah I get what you're saying about throttle. But I don't have any kind of cogging with the 4S. I have all the Arrma vehicle lineup (Grom, BOOST, MEGA 4X4, 3S, 4S, and 6S) aside from the Gorgon and the 8S stuff. The 4S suits me the most. Although the 6S Kraton and Mojave are damn near perfection. I live in the middle of the Mojave Desert, so heat is always an issue. I never have heating issues with the 3S or 4S. But I've toasted multiple 6S ESCs and Motors. For some reason the 6S rigs just burn up easier in my climate. And the 4S Mojave takes easily twice the abuse the 6S does.. and the 6S is impressively durable. But yeah.. the Maxx V2 and the Maxx Slash are just about the only Traxxas vehicles I would recommend over Arrma. But that's just for crash durability. The Arrmas all handle significantly better and are much easier to work on. And are almost just as tough if not on par as the Maxx stuff. I love em all and wish I could have em all. I just haven't gotten into crawlers lol
I have an Xmaxx. I've never considered getting a Maxx. I have 3 8s exb Arrma's , 2 OC's and K8. I still bought a 4s OC last year and the 2.5 4S Kraton along with a few 6s Arrma rigs. The mini Maxx is to much like a scaled down Xmaxx. There's no point when all the Xmaxx has is being kinda tough.
Maxx is a great vehicle. I’ve never owned the XMaxx though. It just looks liked I’d have to have a huge space to run the XMaxx. The Maxx is so quick too.
I’ve been considering an Arma but it’s difficult to decide on which one. I have the Maxx. It is a great vehicle. It’s kind of the replacement to an HPI Savage Flux I had. I’m not saying the 2 are the same but as far as what I wanted in the savage Flux except fixable when something breaks.
Your air control is next level. I’m learning with my Rival MT10 but managed to pile drive it into the ground once too often and broke the chassis. Cheap fix but you’re right, it’s how it lands and on what angle will break it.
That was AWESOME, bros! It looks like Thomas has been doing some practicing. Lol. His Maxx held up very well to those brutal landings, I was expecting more than a dogbone to be broke. Those crash landings look SICK in slow mo. Tell Thomas that the Kraus family says "Hello." Sorry that we can't be out there bashing with y'all. It looks like you're having a blast bashing. But we hope to see you soon. Bash on, brothers!🌩🌩👍🤘🚘👍❤️👊🤗🤪🌩🌩
Amazing video guys ⚡⚡⚡ Thomas mastered his Maxx like never before, well done man, but the asphalt is unforgiving and the same would have been true for the Kraton 💥 Rocky you have increasingly advanced air traffic control 💪it's great to see and all this is really well highlighted by mother Thunder 💪 You are at the top, continue to make us experience these wonderful moments of Bashung THANK YOU, peace 🕊️💙
Maybe the Arma is better, I have never owned one but the Maxx is a lot of fun especially if you have some space. Only thing is it’s so fast, you gotta watch it if you aren’t used to it on 4s.
Need to jump the trucks, no flips straight jumps for height and distance, and keep going till one breaks. Not cuase it landed on its side on concrete. That will deff give you a clear winner, no excuses. I think that would be a fair trial and comparison. Thank you for the video always good content.
Neither would ever break. You could drop them off a skyscraper. If they landed flat on all 4, they'd drive away. The angle decides who drives away and who gets carried
Awesome comparison. Both did great and I am always impressed your skill of control in the air. Amazing. Watching this I was always wondering if there was an Open House during your session, or is that why the house is for sale🤣🤣🤣
My Kraton 4s will be here today! Tower Hobbies has them 100.00 off. $349.00. For scratch and dent (box damage). Unless box is worth 100 to you that is a steal!
@@thunderrc just opened it. Everything as it should be. Perhaps they ordered to many Teal colored ones. Very happy. I like the color. Looks more like 1/8 or 1/9 scale Just a heads up for you and the viewers.
Is that the newest version tho? It doesn’t say anything about having the new center diff? I almost bought the wrong one because they’re calling the old and new still V2.
@@davidzizelman2061 I believe you are correct. Without taking it apart, the power module/ transmission looks to thin to have a center diff. Believe it is a slipper clutch. Strange they have them mixed like that. Teal shows discontinued on Horizon site. Tower still has them.
I think you win with your air control and landing precision. I tend to think the Maxx in your hands would be as impressive in the air, your friend just isn't as strong of a driver. -- Nevertheless, both vehicles are very impressive. However, I would put my personal money on the Traxxas ... as you pointed out the Arrma would have shattered like Evel Knievel at Caesar's Palace. And I have ... I have a Maxx.
Considering you both were just at the skate park recently, breaking that dog bone was inevitable. I think, personally, I'd go with the Kraton though, if you're saying it handles better. I'm not a big jumper and prefer something that handles well.
0:46 LOOK OUT!!! You almost was wearing that truck as a hat Rocky😂😂 To me its a draw between them both👍😎👍😎👍 I would to see Thomas MAXX go up against your MT10 or your SC10?
Just have fun driving them around. I send them for RU-vid bro. That is what people want to see. New cars getting trashed! That’s where the views and subs are 😂😂😂😂
