Yes, I agree. The new system is a little touchy and definitely harder to tune. I still haven’t got it figured out right when I think I know what I’m doing. It goes right back to a delay. I have it usable now. Just a little different driving style.
Does the rear c clip holding the drive shaft stay on or do you run this without that clip. Everytime I run mine on 8s with the Max5 the clip flies off.
I’ve heard other guys having the same issue, but I have never had that clip pop off ever you Gotta make sure it’s really on there good I know sometimes I’ve put them on and noticed that the clip doesn’t go down in the grooves all the way, I force the clip on and make sure it’s in the groove And I’m good to go
Maybe one day when I get more time to put something like that together right now between RC and work and RU-vid I am completely swamped. I can’t even keep up with RU-vid half the time but appreciate the support.
Dude u driving that like an 8th scale! 😮🔥🔥🔥Sick Aldo. Oh and I’m in Spain right now, back on the 9th august so I’ll be pestering u about the speed basher build from my old EXB bits🤞😁😁😁 those pics u sent me are exactly what I had in mind but I’ve got some ideas to run past you, which could make things very interesting 👍👍👊👊💪💪💪💪
Aldo i see what really works in your vids, my xlx2 blew and took my 300 servo with it and castle said its my fault... they want 170 I said pound sand and bought a hobbywing max 5! Castle will never be in my heavy rigs
Yeah man everybody has their choice in electronics me personally like castle it gives you that extra little edge over hobbywing and this is a fun hobby for me so I like to push the limits. I’ve had my issues with Castle in the beginning but once I started following their guidelines, I haven’t had an issue I’ve had more issues with hobbywing, then castle I can tell you one thing the new max 5G2 sucks ass no matter what you do that delay is there and it’s not just a one off I have 4 of those ESC‘s in four different cars and they all 4 do the same exact thing thing 🤷♂️
I need help fixing the steering on arrma notorious 6s v5 blx had this car for almost 3 weeks only drove it one and steering stop working after 10 min I noticed the servo moves with the mount and I put aluminum mount and it still does the same thing so frustrating
Yeah, that would definitely be upsetting. Something must be binding somewhere and without seeing it I wouldn’t be able to help you correctly. Maybe just check and see if the steering moves freely when you disconnect it from the servo and go from there.
My exact same set up. That castle 800kv geared 39-39 is unbelievable... but so far the only batteries that can feed it properly are my yoowoo graphene packs
@AldoLoyal I have been running it on 12s for a while now and I've gotten up to 73 mph in the grass. I need to find a bigger field. The motor is handling it like a champ. Max 4 can run it on any batteries. But with the max 5 g2 it is more sensitive. Max 5 g2 cuts out with my cnhl batteries. But the yoowoo don't cut at all with the exact same gearing. Max 4 is definitely in another league.
You should definitely try the 39-39 on 12s. You will never ever be able to run that gearing on 8s again. 8s feels like weak sauce now haha. And it dosent even get that hot. I'm only running 1 40mm hyper flow fan on 3s and it keeps everything cool. And I'm running in 80° so not quite as warm as where you are.
Just about to pick up the max5 gen2 combo with the 800kv for my O8s roller I bought. Can’t decide if I should go 8s or 12s though. If I ran 12s would my diffs/driveshaft handle it? If not, what upgrades would y’all suggest?
@TheParkingLotGarage I really like 12s. I ran them on 8s for a couple years and it was great. But when the max 4 came out I decided to give 12s a shot and it is amazing. I would definitely recommend 12s. With the 800kv castle the power is unbelievable. Ive had it up to 83 mph and I had a lot left but my front tire exploded. The only problem is tires. Proline Mx43 beadlock is a must for 12s. I now run the max 5 g2 because it's smaller and lighter. It is also great but the max 4 is definitely a step up. If you run the max 5 g2 leave the punch at like 5 or 6 otherwise it likes to cut out. You need to make sure you're diffs are tight and i put 3 shims in to keep it together. If you know how to control throttle the drive shafts will last. Ive been running 12s on stock shafts for a year. But I do have vitavon shafts waiting on my bench.
@@andruhanovo6583 on 12s it’s perfectly fine I haven’t had temperature issues yet and I really beat on this truck on my last session. I’ll be dropping that video today. I sat there and spun donuts for well over a minute and the motor never did get hot when I finally checked it it was at 130
@@andruhanovo6583 it seems like it just like my 6S cars when I run them on 8s they run cooler I’m sure they would get extremely hot if you over gear but you don’t have to to get the power you’re looking for
I ran my 8S EXB’s both the outcast and Kraton 8s exb’s on the stock chassis for close to six months before I converted them over to M2C’s Chassis they do band, but they’re way way much better than stock and if you’re not really sending them crazy like I do, you’ll be good to go don’t listen to everything you hear in these groups and on FB because most of it is BS I personally I have not bent a EXB Chassis. I broke one on a 6S kraton EXB snapped it in half, but that was a super bad landing.
