I switched my car over to regular 6S diffs all around. I tried everything, correct shims, switching them all to LS, but even my front and center started clicking, pretty sure the issue is that the steel is too hardened making it too brittle.

For locking differentials, it is best to use polymorphus !!! When solidified, it becomes like a stone, and it can be easily removed from the case, and if you get tired of it, just heat it.

I've had nothing but issues with the rtr 6s diffs, so I bought the LSD center diff and a LSD diff for the rear. Left it set up stock, if I still have issues I'm gonna be pretty pissed. I just want to drive my damn truck. I don't hate arrma, and I hate to compare to other brands, but the traxxas diffs have NEVER given me as many issues as arrma diffs have. I don't land on power, I don't ever self right, I make sure they're shimmed up properly and everything. I've only had the truck for a year and I'm already in the midst of an entire rebuild. I do run through a lot of water and snow though, but I always make sure to properly dry it after my runs. The only other thing I can think of doing is building up a hot racing diff, with some 2.25mm drill blanks, cutting them to size and calling it a day since the rtr diff pins are awfully undersized.

Good video and details. I ended up fitting 2.64mm cobalt drill bit blanks in the input shafts after running 7s and 8s, didn't expect long term survival. I will go to Ace Hardware and tell them the drill bits were defective if the break inside my diff, should get a priceless reaction lol.

Thanks for sharing, but I have a question. Have a exb, and it wants to pull to the side under moderate throttle. Would that be a diff issue? Like being uneven between the three.

Depends when it's happening. Pulling could be a few things. Chassis alignment, tight bearing or one going out binding, bent pin, even overall balance of the machine. Sorry I can't be more specific.

To save you some time. You don’t have to remove the hinge pin or the brace,,,I just take of the wing itself. Diff comes out just fine,,,,,,hope this helps🇺🇸👈

Nice video. Arma diffs are a pain in the ass. My early version Outcast drove me crazy with the diff shimming it needed. Along with the fluid experimenting to get it set up to my liking. Sucks that the rear diffs in the EXB are having issues. But I hear Arma is looking into it and replacing them as needed. Still a headache though with a new rig. By the way....what kind of “Droid” is that rolling around in your shop? Sounds like it’s enjoying itself 😀

As a temporary repair it's functional locked if you've got nothing else. It cleans up well also if you decide to go another route. It wasn't a permanent fix for me and I knew this going in.

Why did you take off all that stuff, all you need to do is loosen the sway bar, and take the 4 screws of the back differential cover, then just take it out. You don’t need to take the screws out from the bottom. You only need to take out 4 screws.

My diff blew on the 2nd 6s pack. One of my sun gears was missing teeth, I repaired and shimmed it and it blew again. I ended up using a different center diff and put the lsd setup in the rear and have no problems now. Have run about 10 packs through the new setup. It's just a temp fix until parts are available or arrma sends my new diff😪. At least i can bash for now!!!!Also what type of grease did you use?

@@paulclancy2404 we have to get creative until parts are available!! Im not so sure this new diff can really run solid without the lsd plates. I noticed that i had the same issue with the outside shim bending into a cup shape. I went with a high viscosity diff fluid to minimize movement and protext the gears. Now it wheelies and backflips like crazy!!!!👍👍💪💪💯💯🔥🔥

Me i use the lucas tacky stuff, I wonder what arrma uses bc it looks like electric grease , has that consistency and color but thats ring pinion and with v4s I never had problems with diffs except for front ring gear at times so I was happy they made em beefier and spiral, i actually ended up doing that in my v4 kraton and lasted the longest so far, (put spiral cut in front ) from a typhon or mojave , thats why mojsve typhon so more indestructible than others tire size too .

Oh that🤣😂 Normally whenever I rebuild a diff and I use shims or just assembly I like to put what's called an assembly lube it's kind of like when you do a Cam in a car you just put an assembly lube in just a help lubricate parts that may not get lubrication from a thicker diff fluid but I ended up changing my mind anyway and I locked it

Hey go slow with speed putting back together. The speed friction heats plastic not trying be know all just things i learned with arrma diffs hard way .probably nbd newer ones bc alot stronger. As cups get older they start to flex more once the diff oil heats up causing ring gears go bad prematurely

I'll never get why you guys shim the diff and put so much grease there's no where all the grease can go so the shim is so tight then pushing it out at the same time with all that grease has no where to go so the pressure breaks the gear. Think about how it works not hating on you but don't do that if you want the gears to last
